I'm curious, has the change of WWE to kid friendly programming effected their DVD footage and content. I havent seen a recent purchase, but they were somewhat risque and candid. I remember some feature cursing and stories about drug abuse. Also because of the change, I wonder is WWE has or will stopped using really risque Attitude Era footage.
Does anyone know if they changed? And if they haven't, you think DVD's will be effected?

I've never once seen a kid buy a wrestling dvd.
So it shouldn't affect it imo.
Also, the dvds have the TV-14 warnings on them IIRC.

I don't know if they still do this, but I hate it when they go black and white if somebody bleeds.

I don't know if they still do this, but I hate it when they go black and white if somebody bleeds. they do that on the WWE.com photos and when they air footage from a bloodbath on WWE tv....but I don't recall this happening on a dvd. and if it did, it was prob in a clip between matches....not during the course of the match.

Do they blur out middle fingers on DVDs? I know I've seen instances of words getting bleeped.

Do they blur out middle fingers on DVDs? I know I've seen instances of words getting bleeped. Not that I can recall seeing. Of course they censor t-shirts in the crowd and any WWF logo, so if you have a dvd with matches from the Attitude era, then you're watching one giant blur.

Yea they blur out middle fingers... on my Rock DVD when he fights Austin at Mania, all the middle fingers are blurred.

I don't know if they still do this, but I hate it when they go black and white if somebody bleeds. I started watching the IC DVD, and Snuka is wearing the proverbial crimson mask during the cage match, and it's in full color.

middle fingers are blurred out.
WWF logos are blurred out.
foul language is sometimes bleeped out but not always. unsure of the reason for this inconsistency.

Is this another attempt to discredit the change in direction?
Shocking.
The DVDs you guys are talking about are aimed toward your tastes in maturity, so no, they are not affected by the direction.

And people wonder why I REFUSE to buy DVDs from that period!

I have noticed that they blur out the middle-finger now and bleep out certain words that used to be common in WWE. It's kind of funny how things that were so common back then are censored today, and I don't even want to try to articulate why.

I don't thing they do anything to the DVD's as PPV's are TV-14. It says it on screen where you order the PPV and on the screen when the PPV opens I believe.

I meant I didn't want to articulate why I think it is funny. I think I do know why they are pulling back the envelope they pushed in the late 1990s. Money. With the rising popularity of MMA and the continuing popularity of football on Monday Nights, both among males 18-30, WWE sees children, teens, and families as their most marketable audience. WWE banks on the fact that they'll keep the truly die-hard fans either way, but want to focus on younger fans and families. Grab your plastic Mysterio masks and your cotton John Cena wristbands, folks.
