From the observer
Cena’s merchandise numbers for 2008 were the best of anyone in company history except Austin during his peak years, and ahead of 80s Hogan marks.
Kizarny already got off on the wrong foot as key people have soured on him, and he can be added to the list of people John Laurinaitis has heat on him for backing. At the house shows this week, he had matches with MVP where MVP was booked to take the whole match, and then do the fluke loss to keep the losing streak alive. It was described as the perfect example of having someone win and burying him at the same time.
MVP was told that the end result of this losing streak is a babyface turn.
It’s been reported in Mexico that Dos Caras Jr. starts at the Royal Rumble.

Cool to see Cena making lots of money on merch, but during Hogan's time it was a lot harder to acquire WWE merchandise.
Curious to see if the losing streak ends with MVP as a face, would probably need new music if that were the case,IMO.

I've called this face turn for MVP for the last few weeks. These losses humble him and he realizes he doesn't need all this bling and fancy crap to be a star after he hits rock bottom and suddenly wins a few.
Something corny like that. I'd say it would work though.

I don't think people are not understanding WHY they keep him face, so much as looking at it creatively. In a nutshell, the people who want him heel, want him heel because they finally want to like him. It's a bizarre situation. Those who love him would hate him evil. Those who hate him, would love him evil. WWE can't win. So, they might as well keep it the same. He's wrestling's biggest babyface AND heel at the same time.

I guess Meltzer's OK with only a few news items like this being posted, and not his entire stuff like we used to do.

So will Caras actually BE in the Rumble I wonder. Seems kind of odd, considering probably only a small portion of WWE fans even know who he is.

Can we adjust Hogan's numbers for inflation? I bet they kick Cena's ass.

I find it hard to believe that Cena's merchandise is more sold then the likes of those old NWO and DX t-shirts that EVERYONE was wearing in the 90s. You go to school now and you definitely aren't seeing half the boys in class wearing a Cena t-shirt

To defend the t-shirt sales of Hogan, back in the day, you could only get them at the shows or through the WWF magazine catelogue. Cena and Austin will likely never touch Hogan when it comes to popularity in WWE.
As for Kizarny, I think it's another case where the agent should be blamed. Kizarny and MVP were told that they wanted a match the certain way, and it was apparently contradictory to what Vince wanted. I don't think Kizarny will get heat for this. If Kizarny and MVP were told to have their match in a different way, they probably would have. So, whoever the agent was for their match, that should be the person to get blame.
The wrestlers are only doing what they're told, and if the agent wants a match to go one way, they're going to try to accomplish what is wanted from the agent, because they feel that that's wanted from the office.
