I just picked up Smackdown Vs. Raw 09 at Circuit City for 40% off...good deal. Awesome deal. Yeah there isnt really too much left there in terms of anything real good. But they had a TON of Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 left. I guess it varies by location, but if you have one near you now might be a good time to see what they have left...because all console games are 40% off, except for GH and RB bundles which are 30% off.

I just picked up Smackdown Vs. Raw 09 at Circuit City for 40% off...good deal. I just went to their website to see what other deals they have going on, and all there is...is information about them closing. Warning to people thinking about getting MS point cards and other card related purchases from Circuit City. Some stores have had their card activating machines deactivated, so the cards won't work. Been hearing about this on other forums.

Okay, I have a bit of a problem here. I don't think I have ever installed that update that allows you to play your iPod songs (those downloaded from iTunes) on the 360, and now I'd kinda like to find it.
Of course, now I have no idea whatsoever where it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it looks like I'll be busy after I deal with my chat room for my class here at the bottom of the hour.... Never tried an iPOD, but I have used an external hard drive that I had ripped movies I purchased onto it, and plugged that in... and the 360 asked me to download an update to play those movie files. Also, you can always go into Windows Media Player, and under TOOLS, there should be an option about Sharing Media Files: Click that option, and allow your 360 to access your computer (only works if both devices are on the same network); From there, allow the folders that have your media such as movies, pictures, and music, and after a restart of your 360, they should be available to play. Your 360 will let you know if it needs an update to stream these songs/movies/pictures or not.

Thanks, found it (Game Marketplace -> All Games -> O -> Optional Media Update, in case someone else was wondering).
Naturally, the update is only for AAC music files (of which I have none and which I don't think iTunes Store even sells) and thus doesn't do jack crap to make the downloaded iTunes Plus M4A files (which are DRM-free and should play wherever I want them to play) work. For the love of...

Go to the Marketplace and download the Optional media update. That should allow you to play your songs on an Ipod through the 360.

Okay, I guess I got slightly confused with the codecs there, as M4A files are apparently supposed to be in AAC format (yes, I am a complete moron when it comes to stuff like this), but they still won't play even though I have downloaded the update. Interesting.

The only way you can rip your songs onto the Xbox hard drive is from a CD. Sounds like it's time to go around the garden path, as in: 1. Open iTunes 2. Rip songs onto my blank CD's 3. Put CD's in Xbox 4. Download them to HD 5. There are no " 's" because there is only PROFIT!!!!

It appears I already did have the optional media update installed even before I started asking about it, but since it didn't help I ended up downloading another one. Oh well.
Anyway, here's what I read on the support page on Xbox.com:
"The codec you download will be unique to your console—it will not accompany you, for instance, if you move your gamer profile to an Xbox 360 Memory Unit to play at a friend's house."
"If you're using a friend's Xbox 360 console, Xbox LIVE Marketplace will allow you to download the AAC codec again. But if you've already downloaded it to your own console, the codec will not work on your friend's, as the codec is only valid the first time it's downloaded by a specific gamer profile."
Please don't tell me that the update I got before the 360 went for repairs doesn't work now (in case the refurbished system counts as a new/different one) and that I can't do anything about it (because the codec is only valid the first time you download it). GAH!

Or, you could just connect your box to your PC, and just stream your music. Create a playlist on your XBox, and you're set. Then again, you have the 120 GB HD, so you should be fine. As for the movies... AVI works perfectly fine. The iPOD videos use different codecs than the 360 has. I have yet to get one to work properly.
