What do you think of The Crow?
It has to be one of my favourite films overall. I think the actual character of The Crow, Draven, is extremely dark and vicious but the overall sadness of his story is a work of genius. I am very over the top in my love for this film. I know the whole special effects and overall story arc of the film is a little pretentious of its audience to accept, but it comes across well. I'm going to pick up the comic book soon online, is it widely available? I'm not too familiar with much other than the original movie, and reading up on it's sequels etc
Has anyone seen the sequels? I'm going to buy them and watch, but I never really had much need before due to watching the original so many times. David Boreanez, Tara Reid, Iggy Pop, Ian Dury (sans Blockheads,) Kirsten Dunst, & Edward Furlong all appear in any one of the 3 sequels.
I'm going to watch the TV series online sometime soon also, I've heard it was panned but it's worth a watch. Anybody seen that? The character of Eric Draven returns, but their was only one season made in 1998. It was called Stairway to Heaven though which I think it alluringly ace!
There's also a rumoured 2011+ remake, with Stephen Norrigton due to direct. (Blade was a decent film, but can't say I was impressed with The League at all.)

I found that the sequels seemed to be somewhat lacking. I'd rent them before buying them. But the original movie was pretty good.
As good as the movie was, the graphic novel was much better IMO.

I don't know. It always seemed pretty cheesy to me and I don't think it had aged real well.
No disrespect to those who enjoy it; that's just how I see it.

'Fire it Up!'
'Fire it Up!'
'Fire it Up!'
I enjoyed the film, though I do believe some people take it too seriously. It's a good action revenge film to me, that's all really.

Brandon Lee's best work. A great film, a great soundtrack. A movie I've heard they're going to remake. And to that idea, I say "burn in hell, money grubbing vultures".

A great first movie plagued with horrible sequels, but then, that's a lot of movies. There is a group of fans out there that take it WAY too seriously for what it is, but it's a great movie, and one of my favorites.

Visually it's pretty awesome and interesting, and some of the dialogue is really cool, but other than that I didn't think much of the plot or characters itself- but was never a huge huge fan of the book either. Don't get me wrong, I like the flick, but was never THAT impressed by it. It's a good lil movie though.

I love the Crow series. Including the three sequels.

I just watched this film last night after not having seen it for years.
Upon a fresh viewing I still enjoyed it a lot. Top Dollar really gave me a chuckle throughout the film and I realized that Lee was pretty much poised to be the next big thing if he wanted to.
Also, and this could be just because of the vaguely clown-ish make up, I kept thinking of Heath Ledger's Joker.
Still a great flick that has a timeless quality to its visual style.
I watched this and realized that after the mid-90's, we haven't see action films with so much heart, which this movie had in spades. There was a genuine emotional core to what was going on and its so hard to find that now.

I really really loved this movie back in high school...but i've watched it again recently, and its still very enjoyable, it doesn't hold the same place in my heart that it did back then. The sequels...i would steer clear from. The second one's got a few good moments, but i didn't like anything about the third.

There was a genuine emotional core to what was going on and its so hard to find that now. Same as me. I bought the two disc special edition after losing my original when I moved, and you're right with the association with Ledger. The whole dark, brooding characters and their untimely deaths will ALWAYS be associated with the two films. Both give great performances which, at times, are overlooked. I'm sorry if this thread was around a few weeks ago? I just watched it so it was fresh in my mind. I didn't just make a title and say "Discuss," which is just annoying. I tried to bring something I didn't think many people would now with the remake. It'd be interesting to see how they plot the remake, which actors to choose and whatever. I doubt it'd be the Psycho remake route, but I don't think it'd hurt to stay close to the overall plot. Anyone else heard rumours?

I've heard they want to keep very close to the graphic novel and the original film, but updated to fit more modern ideals. That one could go either way. Strangely enough, I was just on Shane West's wiki page and they claim he's rumoured to have been offered the lead.

^ Try Amazon or maybe eBay.
I said on the other thread how much I loved this movie. The sequels are a bit meh. I did surprisingly enjoy the tv series with Marc Dacascos.
