Round 21 ...
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
*Previously Rorschach was about to be attacked by Jinx, Hurricane and the Blob on a rooftop*
Jinx: "Get himmmpphh"
*Rorschach has wasted little time and grabbed a brick and flung it at Jinx which smacks her in the mouth. Meanwhile Hurricane reacts super quick with his pistols but Rorschach leaps behind a chimmney stack. Blob charges in destroying the chimnney stack but Rorschach leaps over the bulbous villian and lands a right cross on Jinx knocking her out. He then rolls to oneside and flings a tile at Hurricane catching him in the groin incapacitating him. This leaves Rorschach and the Blob*
Blob: "Your mine masked man, because nothing moves The Blob!"
Rorschach: Who said I wanted to move you? Bye!
*Rorschach leaps over the side of the roof to the fire escape. Blob gives slow chase and graps the fire escape and attempts to rip it off the hinges. Rorschach fires his grappling hook and swings to the other side of the street and then climbs down the drainpipes. Meanwhile Blob has lost his balance after the shift of weight and managed to plummet through the fire escape and got himself stuck*
*Now on street level, Rorschach heads to the nearest seedy bar for answers. He approaches a card table and sits down.*
Man: "Aces are high, can you match the stakes?"
Rorschach: "Can you?"
*What will the outcome of this meeting be?*
Rorschach
Rorschach was created by Watchmen writer Alan Moore with artist Dave Gibbons but, as with most of the central characters in the series, he was an analog for a Charlton Comics character, in this case The Question. Moore has said that the character's real name, Walter Kovacs, was inspired by Ditko's tendency to give his characters names beginning with the letter K. In an interview for the BBC's Comics Britannia, Moore stated that Rorschach was created as a way of exploring how an archetypical Batman-type character—-a driven, vengeance-fueled, vigilante—-would be like in the real world. He concluded that the short answer was "a nutcase". Wearing the mask that displays a constantly morphing inkblot, which he considers his "true face", Rorschach has continued his one-man battle against crime long after superheroes have become both detested and illegal. Rorschach’s actions and journal writings display a belief in moral absolutism and moral objectivism, where good and evil are clearly defined and evil must be violently punished. He has alienated himself from the rest of society to achieve these aims. Politically, he is an anti-communist, anti-liberal, and strong nationalist. Rorschach is described by Alan Moore as an extremely right-wing character. Rorschach uses any and all weapons that are available at the time, such as pepper to blind a police officer and the use of hairspray in combination with a match to set fire to another police officer, as well as Moloch's house. He owns a gas-powered grappling gun, which he uses to climb buildings. Rorschach is well versed in street combat, and traditional boxing. In the course of the limited series he demonstrated the ability to best multiple armed assailants with little difficulty. Rorschach demonstrated that he was relatively indifferent to physical pain and discomfort. Due to his time in juvenile detention facilities and group homes as a child he is as street savvy as any criminal. Rorschach also demonstrated the ability to break into a variety of locked buildings and homes, suggesting the expertise of a master thief. Rorschach has been described as "tactically brilliant, and unpredictable" by Nite Owl.
vs
Gambit
A mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. This is manifest both internally and externally, energy charges his body giving him greater strength, stamina, and agility than any non-powered human, As well as being able to charge matter resulting in the violent and disproportionately powerful explosion of said matter through touch. The object he charges explode with a force somewhat proportional to the size of the object, though a playing card is as powerful as a hand grenade in Gambit's hands. Gambit has the ability to charge living as well is non living matter, though this ability is the source of much controversy in Gambit's life as well as the continuity and nature of the character. He almost never charges organic matter. He is also skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a staff. A professional thief, few X-Men trusted Gambit when he first joined the group, a source of stress between him and his longtime on-again, off-again love interest Rogue. This was exacerbated when his connections to villain Mister Sinister were revealed, although some of his team members accept that Gambit honestly seeks redemption. As the X-Men's self-described ladies man, Gambit has shown a more vulnerable side of himself over the years, especially when it comes to Rogue. Gambit remains fiercely proud of his Louisiana heritage, and speaks in a very thick, Cajun accent. One of his defining traits is that he used to be a smoker, along with Wolverine.
