Tell me if someone else had done this before because I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing this.
Here are the basics,
Two opponents enter the ring. The referee enters, but is put into a small cage in the corner of the ring. (Think elimination chamber style)
The cage is locked by a key that is hanging off a pole in the opposite corner of the ring. In order to win, a wrestler has to knock his opponent down, get the key off the pole, unlock the ref and pin his opponent for the ref to make the count.
Now there is a lot of action that can take place in the match, such as a guy knocking his opponent down, unlocking the referee, but then his opponent gets back up and locks the referee back into the cage, which is also allowed if a wrestler chooses to do so.
What do you think? I think it would be a fun match for a "strategic" mind games type of wrestler to do because he can come up with strategies for it.
Also, when the referee is locked in the cage, he cant do anything such as count a pin fall or call for a DQ.

I think this belongs in the TNA forum. $10 says Russo reads this thread and the idea gets mixed into the next King of the Mountain match. Any takers?

I don't think Russo is going to waste his time reading web forums.

if the wrestlers wre smart they'd unlock the cage at the start to make it a normal match.

Yes, it can be called something like Referee Jeopardy or Caged Justice Match.

could Robocop come down to the ring and rip the cage door down to let the ref out?

could Robocop come down to the ring and rip the cage door down to let the ref out? Yes, please. This "caged justice" idea should not be attempted by anyone, UNLESS RoboCop can get involved. BTW, "caged justice" is actually a pretty good name for it.
