Round 25 is here and as I am away for a week will be until then..
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
*Still on the Highway and Electro is hurling bolts of electricity at Gambit and his car. The Car swerves as a bolt hits the tires, in a las moment Gambit flings the steering wheel fully charged at Electro, it bounces pas Electro into the van. Electro looks back ...*
Electro: Oh Cra ...
*Boom, the van flips and crashes into the slip road. Electro stumbles out before collapsing.*
Gambit: Now for that so called thief.
*Gambit checks the van and fins the thief unconcious, he takes the collar back and is about to wake him up when a voice is heard.*
Ironman: Leave, this is now a concern of S.H.I.E.L.D
Gambit: No, he stole from the X-men, he will be dealt with by us.
*Can Gambit take the robber back or will Ironman have him??*
Gambit
A mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. This is manifest both internally and externally, energy charges his body giving him greater strength, stamina, and agility than any non-powered human, As well as being able to charge matter resulting in the violent and disproportionately powerful explosion of said matter through touch. The object he charges explode with a force somewhat proportional to the size of the object, though a playing card is as powerful as a hand grenade in Gambit's hands. Gambit has the ability to charge living as well is non living matter, though this ability is the source of much controversy in Gambit's life as well as the continuity and nature of the character. He almost never charges organic matter. He is also skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a staff. A professional thief, few X-Men trusted Gambit when he first joined the group, a source of stress between him and his longtime on-again, off-again love interest Rogue. This was exacerbated when his connections to villain Mister Sinister were revealed, although some of his team members accept that Gambit honestly seeks redemption. As the X-Men's self-described ladies man, Gambit has shown a more vulnerable side of himself over the years, especially when it comes to Rogue. Gambit remains fiercely proud of his Louisiana heritage, and speaks in a very thick, Cajun accent. One of his defining traits is that he used to be a smoker, along with Wolverine.
vs
Iron Man
Born Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark, he suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping and is forced to build a destructive weapon. He instead creates a power suit to save his life and help him escape. He later decides to use the suit to protect the world as the superhero, Iron Man. He is a wealthy industrialist and genius inventor who created military weapons and whose metal suit is laden with technological devices that enable him to fight crime. Initially, Iron Man was a vehicle for Stan Lee to explore Cold War themes, particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Subsequent re-imaginings of Iron Man have gradually removed the Cold War themes, replacing them with more contemporary concerns such as corporate crime and terrorism. Throughout most of the comic's history, Iron Man has been a member of the superhero team the Avengers and has been featured in several incarnations of his own various comic book series. The character has been adapted for several animated TV shows, as well as for the 2008 live action films Iron Man and a cameo in The Incredible Hulk where he is played by Robert Downey, Jr.
