Round 29 has arrived!
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
*Last time Tony Stark aka Iron man had supposedly died and met Death.*
Tony Stark: What do you mean not quite?
Death: Well on my list your not supposed to be dead yet ... hmmm ... the Melter! ... Who'd have thought a long dead guy would finish Iro..
Tony Stark: Wait so if I'm not dead what am I doing here?
Death: oh .. probably one of those near death experiences, you know like on those daytime chat shows ... oh there we go .. see ya.
Tony Stark: what?!
*Ironman wakes up and finds himself strapped to a chair in a long room designed for cargo, a man with a gun stands in the shadows.*
Man: Welcome back, You are on a plane Mr Stark or should I call you Ironman? Not that it matters without your armor your just a man. Personally I think we should kill you now, but Diablo is in charge of this operation and wants you alive and locked up so you don't intervene in his masters plan. Which is why you are here with me on a plane circling the world.
Tony Stark: So who do I have the pleasure of sharing this flying cell with?
*The man walks out of the shadows*
Deathstroke: The names Slade Wilson .. but you can call me Deathstroke.
*Can Ironman get out of this situation or will Deathstroke keep him prisoner?*
Iron Man
Born Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark, he suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping and is forced to build a destructive weapon. He instead creates a power suit to save his life and help him escape. He later decides to use the suit to protect the world as the superhero, Iron Man. He is a wealthy industrialist and genius inventor who created military weapons and whose metal suit is laden with technological devices that enable him to fight crime. Initially, Iron Man was a vehicle for Stan Lee to explore Cold War themes, particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Subsequent re-imaginings of Iron Man have gradually removed the Cold War themes, replacing them with more contemporary concerns such as corporate crime and terrorism. Throughout most of the comic's history, Iron Man has been a member of the superhero team the Avengers and has been featured in several incarnations of his own various comic book series. The character has been adapted for several animated TV shows, as well as for the 2008 live action films Iron Man and a cameo in The Incredible Hulk where he is played by Robert Downey, Jr.
vs
Deathstroke
(Slade Wilson), is a supervillain and sometime anti-hero in the DC Comics Universe. He is a mercenary and assassin who is imbued with enhanced physical prowess by secret army experiments attempting to create metahuman soldiers for the U.S. military. However, he kept this career secret from his family, even though his wife was an expert military combat instructor, until a criminal named the Jackal kidnapped his younger son, Joseph, as a hostage to force Slade to divulge the name of a client who had hired him as an assassin. Slade refused to do so, claiming that it was against his personal honor code, and attacked and killed the kidnappers at the rendezvous. Unfortunately, Joseph's throat was slashed by one of the criminals before Slade could prevent it, destroying his vocal cords and rendering him mute. After taking Joseph to the hospital, Slade's wife Adeline, enraged at his endangerment of her son, tried to kill Slade by shooting him, but only managed to destroy his right eye. Afterward, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that he made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black featureless half covering his lost eye. Without his mask, Slade wears an eyepatch. Slade has a long history as an enemy of the Teen Titans. In Identity Crisis, Deathstroke was enlisted as a bodyguard for Doctor Light, who was being chased by the Justice League. In the ensuing battle, Deathstroke nearly beat the team of Elongated Man, the Flash (Wally West), Zatanna, Hawkman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, the Atom, and Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner). He systematically took out every member except for Rayner, whom he had the potential to disable through trying to usurp his ring's energies using his own formidable willpower. But before the outcome of this conflict with Rayner ended, Green Arrow stuck an arrow in Deathstroke's right eye socket, enraging him. Slade went ballistic and began to beat Green Arrow, but was stopped when the majority of the team tackled Deathstroke to the ground. These include the strength of ten men, heightened speed, agility, stamina and reflexes. He has the capacity to use up to 90% of his brain making him a combat skills and tactical genius. Deathstroke also possesses a regenerative factor in his blood that enables him to heal from physical injury much faster than a normal person. This has also made him effectively immortal, enabling him to recover from what would otherwise be fatal injuries, though recovering from what would be a fatal injury renders him insane and animalistic for a short period. He is also a highly formidable opponent in physical combat to the point that even Batman can only fight him into a stalemate.
