Even More Details On The Jim Cornette Suspension Posted By Larry Csonka on 05.14.05
It's Bubba's fault!
More has come out regarding the Jim Cornette Suspension.
Jim Cornette had crafted weeks of storylines for the Toland’s (OVW Southern Tag Champions) and their manager Jillian Hall (who is scheduled to be brought up soon, with the mole gimmick.) Cornette was having the Dudleyz job to them to help the team establish dominance, but also agreed to let the Dudleyz “get their heat back” after the match.
After the Dudleyz lost, they super power bombed Jillian through a table, ECW style. Now Cornette is very careful not to “insult the fans intelligence” and was very upset because now he couldn’t use her the next week after what they did to her. He later “cut a profanity laced promo,” on Bubba and asked him why he would super bomb a 125-pound woman through a table when there were plans to use her the next several weeks on TV.
Bubba didn’t think it was a big deal, but was embarrassed by Cornette yelling at him in front of the boys. He called John Lauranitis and told him that he refused to return to OVW while Cornette was there. This is what led up to the suspension.

It's incomplete. Did Cornette agree to allow them super bomb her through a table?

considering how old school Jim Cornette is, i think it's safe to assume he would never, ever approve someone getting power bombed through a table.

It's probably just a miscommunication.
Maybe Bubba didn't know she was needed on T.V. which would be Cornette's fault.
Jim sure didn't know Bubba would put her through a table, but it couldn't have been that big of a suprise.
Also..... a mole gimmick? A big hairy mole?
WTF!!?!?

For one thing, Cornette said they could get their heat back.
But he didn't say they could powerbomb her through a table.
While I don't blame Bubba, he should have taken a little more thought about what he was about to do.
A classic case of miscommunication, like you said.
But I doubt Jim Cornette will be gone for long. He can probably explain the situation better later.
And then Bubba might be in trouble.

I'm pretty sure this is just one part of a much larger situation that led to Cornette's "vacation".
Both parties share some blame here, so I won't rag on either of them.

Ok... so Cornette wants us to believe that one powerbomb through a table (125 pound woman or not) would keep her out of action for weeks to come? And he doesn't want to insult our intelligence?

And that's exactly I said the info isn't complete... But I do not agree with you that both parties are too blame. Rather, I belive no is to blame; it was just a case of miscommunication.

I blame both of them...
And thank GAHD! for Jim Ross... he saved Cornette's job, talking Johnny Ace down to just a booting... I mean a suspension... rather than a firing.
You just know that otherwise Road Warrior Animal would be training OVW within a week.
And I'm not sure he could turn out simultaneous WWE champs.

Corny runs a tight ship, in a difficult situation... Bubba knows Cornette, and the Dudleys shouldn't have gotten their heat back in such a severe way.
However... Cornette has a history of burning out on places (WCW, SMW)... maybe that's happening with OVW. Maybe give him a rest for a while, and either send him back there or give him a new developmental place.

Nah, that ain't how Corny rolls. Maybe with a male wrestler, but a woman taking a superbomb? They'll probably have a funeral for her.

I appreciate Corny at least being concerned about insulting our intelligence.
From what I've read from various places, this whole situation, at least now, has turned into a positive. Corny was burning out (he's been going non stop for the last 5 years) and this is his opportunity to get his battery charged and come back better than ever.

And he doesn't want to insult our intelligence? i mean at least a week. any time a "nonwrestler" personality gets hit with something its more effective, and when you put a girl through a table, its pretty effective. if i was the booker i would keep her out a week to sell it, too. just one, though.

It wasnt Bubba or Cornett's fault, it was HHH's fault, his backstage politics got in the way again.
