Since I stayed spoiler free for last night's SD I though Eddie was gonna rip it off instead of tearing it.
so my question is since he lost the mask once when he was in WCW, would it be a big deal if he lost it again in his fued with Eddie now by either a defeat or like I thought last night Eddie ripping it off?

i don't think it would be a big deal to those of us who followed him in his WCW career. The only way i think it would make a big impact is if WWE totally ignored his WCW past, which they do anyway. just as long as he doesn't lose the mask and come back with those ridiculous horns on his head, i'll be happy.

To back this up, if you ever watch the Rey Mysterio 619 DVD, any pictures showing him without the mask (except when he was a kid), including WCW promos, were blurred out

When Rey made an appearance on Tough Enough 3, he showed the wrestlers his face. They had the camera behind him so you couldn't see it. After he left, Big described the tradition behind the masks in Lucha Libre, and how it was such an honor that Rey would show them his face. All I could think about was that every wrestling fan in the world saw his face in WCW... I felt like they were introducing Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat all over again.

It was a sentimental gesture so I understood it but if Ultimo or Sasuke ever showed their faces, then yes I would mark the hell out.

I think to kid's and people who have never seen WCW Rey they'd make a big deal, but I reckon everybody else wouldn't be to fussed. I want him to keep the mask this time, because there's not that many masked wrestlers in the WWE at the moment.

If they do unmask Rey, they should give him a Menudo gimmick.

Poor Rey doesn't look menacing at all sans mask.

Did anyone else wonder how he bladed himself through the mask? I thought that was really cool. To me it looked like, Eddie tore the mask and he was already bleeding underneath. "They won't bcuz the WWE refuses to acknowladge any other promotion so noone who's only watchedd WWE has seen him w/o his mask" You obviously somehow missed the WCW and ECW DVDs and the ECW PPV coming up.

I doubt Rey would unmask, because that's his big moneymaker. He sells a lot of merchandise.

If anyone remembers the game Saturday Night Slam Masters, Rey looked like El Stingray in his losing pose with the torn mask. Had Rey's mask been blue last night, it would be a perfect replication.

Eddie's getting a haircut.
Eddie's getting a haircut.
Come on, it's Lucha tradition.
Hair versus Mask.

Oh please God let Eddie regrow the mullet.
I'm waiting for all the luchas to come in and the other cruisers. Half of them already lost their masks...it will be interesting to see if they don them again.

I think WWE made Eddie get a haircut because they didn't want a World Champion with a mullet.

Didn't Eddie shave the mullet in early 03 then it ended up to start growing back during his US title reign then he shaved it again?
