I'd have kept Matt, but I don't know that I would have fired Edge, either. Firing people on injury is cheap and creepy (is that cheepy?) plus, Matt has a significant fan base. If he came back, there's no saying he wouldn't draw them back.
I realize Edge is on the ME track, but I don't know if he belongs there, either. He's been a little dull of late, even with his non-angle heat. I'd much prefer Matt coming back and sewing up the Kane-Lita-Snitsky thing before we're subjected to any more of it.
Oh, and if it were my pick? Lita would have been SO fired by now, it wouldn't have been funny.

Just once, I'd love to see Edge say "Wel, Lita didn't, so shut the hell up!" when a "We Want Matt" chant starts.
Or even better "If you want him, turn on TNA in 90 days. He'll be jobbing to Jarrett in no time!"

You want to see Lita nekid? eeeeeeeeeeeeww We almost saw her naked in that shirt she was wearing on Raw last night. I wouldn't want to hear her moaning with that Chyna-like man-voice of hers and her bad acting. I bet even during sex it sounds like she's reading from cue cards.

I think both Edge and Matt Hardy can have a career in WWE. Matt should have just been moved to SmackDown. He was more over on that show anyway.
If I had to choose, I would have chosen Matt Hardy over Edge. While Edge is a more credible main eventer, there is locker room morale to worry about, as well as fan reaction. The way this situation was handled had a bad effect on the locker room, and these chants directed at Edge are destroying his fued with Benoit.
Wasn't the first Maxx Moon fired over sleeping with another wrestler's wife? How times have changed...

I think that maybe something we can all agree on. This could have been handled a lot better.

Matt, because like somebody said above you have to think about locker room morale. At least from what I've heard, not alot of people backstage like Edge right now because of what happened.
Matt Hardy's always been pretty well liked backstage, I think. Never heard about any problems about him beforehand.
Lita's always been pretty well liked backstage, dunno if she still is now.
It's really kind of a double edged sword if you're Vince McMahon; Would you rather have a guy who isn't well liked in the back & has the potential of being potatoed out there purposely but also has the potenital to make some good money? Or would you rather have a guy who's well liked in the back, is pretty well over with the crowd & could make, maybe not as much but a good amount of money as the first guy?
I would have fired Edge, because I'd rather have a midcarder that doesn't have any heat with anyone in the back than a possible main eventer who's a headcase. Yeah, Edge has slowly but surely been getting that main event push & firing him would kill that. But hey, push somebody else. Kane, Regal, Christian among others could use the exposure.

Edge, NO DOUBT!!! 'Ultimate Mattitude' had an ok gimmick (V1) that was entertaining mostly because Shannon Moore & Crash. Edge on the other hand makes a pretty good heel, & he used his real life heat to help his heel character (smart), while 'Ultimate Mattitude' decided to put his business on his website (dumb). Besides, Edge & Christian were WAY more entertaining than The Hardy Boyz ever were, HANDS DOWN!!!

To be honest that's speculation that we don't really know. I can't say that there is/is not a Civil War going on backstage but I'm not gonna act like I know either. I don't feel bah for Matt, I feel bad for Kane. Kane now has to go out week after week and hear "You screwed Matt chants". There's a real possibility that this will throw some crap in his direction when the man didn't do anything. If anyone's innocent it's Kane and to a lesser extent Trish. Not Matt, Edge, and Lita.

I would dump Lita 'cause they have waaaaaay too many women already. Edge has ME talent, and I also believe Matt does too. I've seen Matt as a heel in a house show and he stiil got over with the fans. They should have just moved Matt over after Matt would tell Lita on Raw that he was cheating on her with Trish. Then for the next year Matt and Edge would bash each other 'till at WM22 if both were still jobbing they could have an Interprommercial No Dq/cage Match with huge Heat and both would be pushed while Lita sleeps with half the TNA locker room to regain her past glory.

Edge is on a roll right now.
Matt wasn't on one since early 2003.
Firing Edge wouldn't make sense. OK, so Matt's better than Edge in every aspect. So what? Matt was never an important figurehead in WWE at any stage and Edge is - it'd be a complete waste of momentum.
Think of it this way - It's the year 1989. Randy Savage slept with Bret Hart's (who is a midcarder) wife, and the wife now has no feelings for Bret. Bret may be the more talented one, but why would you discard a popular figurehead just because there's bad blood between him and Bret?

I'd keep Hardy. While I don't think he's capable of being some top-tier megastar like some of the overzealous Matt supporters seem to think, I'll certainly take him over forced-down-our-throats* Edge push number 35. The only reason Edge is where he is currently is because of lack of interesting characters, not because he's anything special.
For my money, he's already peaked with the goofy E&C stuff and I doubt he'll ever be that entertaining again. Hardy seems a little more capable of adapting to new ideas and approaches for his character.
*insert yet another Lita joke

I'd have kept Matt. First of all, he seems to be well-involved with his career, meaning I don't have to pay creative to come up with a storyline for him. He had a return set, a feud prepared, and everything that would have given him a push.
Edge, however, has the Money In The Bank. He's in a feud with Chris Benoit, which makes Benoit stagnate. Not only that, but Edge was in the wrong as he committed the first action (Matt Hardy only made it worse). Plus, he's been getting push after push after push and yet he always seems to drop the ball with those pushes. Quite frankly, if I was in charge, he'd be gone.
Matt can still be made out to be something great. Edge, however, no. Edge does not entertain. Edge has been forced down our throats just like many of you believe HHH has been forced down our throats. Matt Hardy had a future that could have made money. Edge, in a sense, too, but it would be because of his opponents, and not because of himself.

Edge & Matt Hardy: I'm going to act like the Lita incident never happened and am going to have to pick Edge because Edge puts on a good match every now and then, as for Matt Hardy before he was injured I couldn't remember the last time he had a great match (I think maybe when he was still on Smackdown) and Edge just seems more popular, He's hated by everyone which is a must need when your a heel, hell his own hometown booed him when he was a face. Matt's better off in TNA anyways, if they can set ego's aside Matt will be used well

2 Raws ago, his only segment was a match against Val Venis, and an interference by Benoit. This week he had an interview and a match with Jericho. I'd hardly call that 'shoving him down our throats'.
And he did receive a healthy heel reaction upon his entrance; until, of course, some people chanted 'boring' during the match, which was pretty unfair.
And, to be fair, both Matt Hardy and Edge are as entertaining as the script allows them to be. Matt, although naturally entertaining in his own right, was given a basic heel gimmick. Edge's current gimmick actually makes sense if you look at his Raw lineage beginning last year, and it lead to some above average promos.
But whatever, I don't give a s***.

I don't know Edge as a person so I'm not about to slag him off as a person.
But as a wrestling fan, I always enjoyed seeing Matt on the mic or in the in ring. Vince and his stooges turned Matt into a mid card jobber but Matt still worked with that and drew a huge amount of support.
All I can really say is that he'll be missed by many people (myself icluded) who used to mark for him.

Both!!!! if Vance was smart he would have realized that a shoot storyline between Edge,Matt, and Lita would have been the real "money in the bank".

Seeing as how I have a Matt Hardy wrestling figure on my wall instead of an Edge I'm gonna have to stick with Matt
Seriously, I'm a big Matt Hardy fan and it sucks I won't see him on RAW or Smackdown
