Just think, if O'haire was still around. We would probably be seeing him as champion instead of Cena.
It's just so typical of the WWE to come up with 20 stupid gimmicks and keep them all. Then finally come up with a good one and botch it.

Anyway here are the promos...
1 "Stop the prayers, hit the snooze, you'll go next week, hell; don't even go at all. If god is everywhere, why should we even go to church, he's sitting next to you on the couch. Who even knows if there is a god anyway? The church is nothing but a farce, a way to judge you. You have to take control of your own life; you are your only judge. Save yourself the headache, do something more valuable with your time. And if there is a god, he'll forgive you.
Hey, I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know."
2 "Go ahead, do it, you have sexual needs, desires; you want to, you need to. Do it for you. When was the last time you did something for you? We all know it's a physical thing; it's not like your going to leave your wife. Look at it this way; it'll make your relationship stronger in the end. What she doesn't know won't hurt her; you'll appreciate your wife more. If you play your cards right, you might even learn a few things. And believe me, your wife will thank you later.
I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know."
3 "You are nothing but a slave to the government. They're stealing your money, your hard earned money. So why do we even need to pay taxes? They're nothing but a scam. And who's going to know? Do you think the IRS has time to go after a little guy like you? They're way to busy tailing the big fish, besides, paying taxes is un-American. Remember what our forefathers said; 'no taxation without representation', and right now your elect officials are not doing a very good job of representing you. What has the government done for you? Think about it, who needs your money more? You or filthy rich Uncle Sam?
Hey, I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know."

The writers must've thought "Hey wait, we actually came up with something good? Well, what the hell are we going to do with this?"

Wasn't this a Heyman creation?

Possibly. I won't say anything about Sean's hott-ness, but I will say that I liked this gimmick. And that he looked hot every moment of it. Isn't it strange how Jindrak and O'Haire started out together and the crappier one is still in the WWE with a crappier gimmick?

That must be some of the best writing the WWE has ever come up with. Imagine what could of been had he not of gotten involved with Piper.

Man, reading this thread REALLY pisses me off they canned this gimmick. It really was one of the best they'd ever come up with.
"Devil's Advocate" Sean O'Haire vs Raven feud could have owned.

Good Golly, I wish I could have seen those. Those transcripts floored me, it sounded like, get this, entertaining wrestling! Wow! Imagine that! I really wish I woulda started watching wrestling again a few months earlier. Damn. Anyone know where I could possibly find more about this? Now I'm really intrigued!

I remember him well when he was in WCW tag teaming with Jindrak. If I remember right he floored me when I saw him pull of a Senton Bomb off the top rope. They were a good team together and worked well. Honestly, I think if WWE knew what was good for them, they'd rehire O'Haire and give both of them time to get back in the groove of being a team.
I don't know how Jindrak would get into the mix of the "Devil's Advocate" gimmick unless he became a follower of O' Haire's cause.
But anyway, the gimmick was one of the best I have ever seen. I remember seeing the first vigante and my jaw just fell to the floor. I was almost positive that he would be a top star......and then things just fell apart for him when he attacked the "crippled" kid and then Piper was fired.
The loss of O' Haire to me is up there with the recent firing of Matt(which from what I've heard, WWE thinks they created a monster with the recent actions of fans around Lita and Edge but that's not what this thread is about.) in the long list of "We fired someone talented and yet still employ ten thousand horrible wrestlers" that WWE has. But then again we're just fans who share our thoughts on the internet and we're not a big corporation who know better than said fans.
But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

If only all these talented stars that are held down knew how much we appreciate them and how much it pains us to see them jobbed out and how much we all gun for them in ever match. Maybe if they did so many of them won't die young from drug use caused by depression.(not intended as a remark towards the recent death of Candido)

Those promos were amazing... not just the writing, but the look of them as well.
Just Sean with crazy hair in a suit walking from offscreen into a plain white studio and delievering them straight to camera. Then cutting to black at the end...
I'm sure I've got them somewhere... I should dig them out as a reminder of when creative had a clue and didn't just reuse the exact same ideas time in, time out

This gimmick of Sean O'Haire's came and went when I had stopped watching wrestling entirely. And that's too bad. My buddy Asics Johnson tells me that Sean O'Haire, in this gimmick, would have been right up my alley. You see, I love the 3-dimensional character in wrestling (and you can read a damn manifesto on that subject over in Raven's online journal), and they are very rare. They have always been my favorite wrestlers, and when I was a wrestler, that's what I did with my character. Don't be a cutout; be whole and unique. But I digress...
I have heard that this gimmick was where it's at. I really wish I could see it now. O'Haire was a cool looking dude, and that always helps. One question I have is, what was Raven's masterpiece or whatever that I heard mentioned earlier in the thread? Raven is my all-time favorite hands-down, so I'm definitely curious about this... I saw very little of his last WWE run.

Did the WWE really fire O'haire or did he ask to be released?

Just an FYI, O'Haire is wrestling at UPW which also is a place the WWE scouts for talent. But his career took an interesting turn as he has moved into the Mixed Martial Arts realm, performing in Las Vegas along with two other UPW alumni. I don't know his record but apparantly he's a natural and has won a few bouts. I found the web site and some more info here... www.valorfighting.com

Raven's Masterpeice had to do with the 7 deadly sins, I only rememberr part of it, but it was suppossed to include a huge fued against Matt Hardy. And if O' Haire was still around with the Devil's Advocate Gimmick, he could make the worlds greatest stable...
-Sean O' Haire -Shannon Moore(He was damn good as Hardy's lackey) -Charlie Haas(Just so he can have an actual gimmick) -Mark Jindrak(Solely as the Enforcer type character)

I was never that crazy about this, it was sorta interesting, but I didn't think it was a huge deal when it was gone, maybe just me.

It was dark and cool and genuinely entertaining. Did not know where it was going but I'm sure I would have liked it better then a diva search or Snitsky.
