If the WWE had a MAJOR cull, and had a roster of about 40 wrestlers, do you think it would help or hinder the product genuinely? I know there have and will be numerous more threads about this, but do you really think it's a good idea? There are a lot of people saying they want to end it, but very few saying how or what they think would happen if they did.
Keeping in mind that the amount of wrestlers still not given the chance to get over, would their be much time for the growth the WWE had in the past with its wrestlers? Guys like Miz & Morrison I don't believe would still be around, MNM would of faded and Miz wouldnt of been given the chance he has had to improve. Hardys would of never been world champions & I don't believe Ray, Eddie or JBL would of been either. I really don't see Punk ever getting the world title in a one-roster WWE, yet I didn't think he would currently and he has. If the roster hadn't of split, do you still think we'd have HHH, Taker, HBK with added Cena & Batista or would of WWE taken the chances on these newer younger wrestlers anyway?
How would you end it? Some unification would be in order, but would you have Edge & HHH still on top, or would you give it to Taker/HBK or somebody? Would you even have a US title over IC? Could the women still get over at all?
Would you think the one roster on the two shows would work now? Would you want it to happen?

bad since we would see the same few people all the time and A LOT of wrestlers would wind up losing their jobs, primarily midcarders

You know...this is a really interesting subject. I'm glad you brought it up.
I've never really seen a thread on this or even really considered it so I'll have to really give this some thought and get back to you.

I even defended a guy putting up a Montreal subject a few weeks back. However when this thread ( officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=WWE&action=display&thread=185140) is on the front page and this is seemingly the fifth or sixth thread I've seen on this very subject this week... You know what screw it lets talk about it.... Ending the brand split would be a bad thing They're not going to do it. There we go. /thread

Why does everything here need to be shit on before it's discussed?
I bet you EVERY thread on here about this topic has the same smart arse comment like the one you made by someone with a thousands posts more than you, not actually answering the question.
This is a topic a lot of people are interested in. Especially now as Miz/Morrison are used so heavily, guys who are ridiculously over in other places don't get a look-in and it's been brought straight back to a lot of peoples attention due to Cabana, and a wrestlmania is around the corner which could theoretically have a former world champion in every match. WWE is said to be moving forward, and Id just like to see how people would feel if the split ended NOW, with the current content, than in the past when it was different.

The brand split itself isn't the problem. It's the booking and the writing that leads to lousy television at times. Not to mention asinine logic behind the scenes if the reports are true.

The brand split was one of the things that caused me to lose interest in the WWE. I never liked or accepted it.

I don't see the argument that wrestlers wouldn't be given a chance to shine. Let's face it, we're seeing the same guys every week anyway.

(HHH, Edge, Hardys, Taker) We've got a set of main eventers on Raw right? (Jericho, Cena, Orton, Batista) Combine the rosters, we don't have room for 9-10 main eventers anymore so some people would lose their chance to shine.

It gives wrestlers time to shine, as to where they would only shimmer if there was no brand split. There are too many wrestlers on the active roster for them to be on every show together.

Without the brand split guys like (regardless if you like them or not) Punk, Kofi, Bourne, Morrison, Miz, etc. would not have been able to get over to the degree they are.

It would be a good thing to end the brand split because when you look back to when they did it back in 2002 the WWE was STACKED with talent and they really had no choice but to do compared to now.

Jericho and Matt Hardy are glorified upper mid-carders, Hardy even less so because he's just riding out this storyline with Jeff. Batista's a backup boy. Taker's a special attraction because of his schedule.

i remember when Vince beat Flair back in Summer 2002 and jumping for joy as though they realized it was a really bad idea and reverted back to norm.
it does wonders for younger talents not to be too cramped, some prevail (MVP, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton et al) some fail ( future endeavors list.....) and it gives two bolstered, proper main events every month (or twice a month), generally solid midcard between the two shows and a little bit of everything for everyone else.

Taker's a special attraction because of his schedule. Jericho has been World Champion twice and main evented EVERY PAY PER VIEW since Unforgiven. Undertaker will be in a co-main at Wrestlemania and was in the main event at No Way Out. He also main evented Summerslam, One Night Stand, Judgement Day, Backlash, and Wrestlemania 24 in the past year. Matt Hardy's feud with Jeff is an attempt to make him a main event level heel.

This is what I like about the brand split. The amount of talent we DO see. A massive proportion of those on TV at least once a week we probably wouldn't of seen so much of back 10 years ago. But, maybe, in ten years we wont have seen wrestlers as hugely popular as Rock, Austin, HHH & HBK originally due to the brand split.
