Forget Kane and The Phantom Menace's anniversary today. On May 19, 1978, this scene was filmed at Magic Mountain, and made-for-televison movies starring rock bands have never been the same.

I remember watching this and my cousin and I were under the belief that KISS was the greatest band ever and this was by far the coolest thing to exist!!!
Watching it later on, yuck.

ACK! I had to turn this film off after a few minutes, it was boring (the actual acting scenes).
Blade, how many times have you gone to see KISS?

Yeah, it's really one of those bad movies you need to watch drunk/altered. And believe it or not, I've only seen Kiss live four times. Seems like a low number for a band I've followed since 1978, considering I've seen bands like Warrant and Quiet Riot the equal amount of times. I was just too young/broke/vehicle-less/other to go to the Crazy Nights/Hot In The Shade/Revenge/Psycho Circus tours that were in the area.

Its on Kissology Volume 2, as "Kiss in Attack of the Phantoms." My brother owns it. I did not know that. I must have it. Now. Before you run out and buy it, you should probably know that Kiss in Attack of the Phantoms is NOT exactly the same movie as KMTPOTP. It's essentially an alternate cut of the film, made for theatrical distribution in Europe. I believe they replaced a lot of the soundtrack with cuts from the four solo albums that came out in 1978. Look it up if you want to know what else was cut or added, because I can't remember the specifics. I know what I do because I purchased Kissology Volume 2 on the day it came out, because I'm an absolutely shameless Kiss nerd. And yes, while KMTPOTP is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, it's still epic in its own way.

Some of the songs seem random and placed in there just to have them in there. They sing "Beth" to comfort the female lead, who's name is Melissa (and they're not really there either)
But it was still an awesome movie in it's own right

I wish they would have released "Rip and Destroy". I saw this movie before I heard the song "Hotter Than Hell." And when I first heard "Hotter Than Hell" I preferred "Rip and Destroy" much better. Dunno why.
