From his debut onward, up till just two years ago, Kane was the unstoppable beast. Uncaring. Unfeeling. And yes, unstoppable. Kane was a badass, and I'll take him over Taker any old day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Undertaker was best in the period after he was a zombie, but before he was a satanic cult leader.
Kane was best from his debut until he changed his outfit (when it revealed more of his supposedly burned skin) and started talking on a regular basis.
Which was better? I can't say. But that's my two cents.

Kane jumped the shark after he crossed paths with everyone's favorite "bad heat" euphemism, X-pac.
But I still hold out hope for the big red lug, though.

Was I the only one that actually liked the Undertaker Satanic leader gimmick?? I mean, he was supposed to be undead and all and this is the kind of over the top thing that people can sometimes get on board with.
Not pointless like supposed "Secrets", and it made sense with his old gimmick I thought at leat.

Sadly as it stands right now, imo its not even a contest. Three years of stupid Kane gimicks have ruined the character for me. They need to do with Kane what they did with taker, take him off for 6 months and bring him back as his old bad-ass self. Last time he did that, he came back and did the Kane-o-roni, had a tag team with Hurricane, "Freaks Kick Ass", and Katie Vick within a span of 3 months since his return. Aug 2002 - Oct 2002 killed Kane as being a bad ass. However, Old School Kane would send shivers down your spine and he looked like a psycho in the big red/black suit and mask. Tough desicion. I like both. Can't choose one over the other.

I did, but it wasn't the best Undertaker era in my opinion.
I also loved the X-Pac vs. Kane tag team and the beginnings of their subsequent feud. That storyline was only ruined with the inclusion of Tori. Kane should not have a girlfriend.

I enjoy Kane a bit more than Taker.
I've always been conflicted over the mask issue with Kane though. Yes, the old school mask was significantly cooler than the half-mask or no mask that he has now. However, from what I've heard, the lack of a mask and half-mask allowed him to breath better which helped him improve his workrate in the ring and all that. So, it's a better look or better matches, and I guess I'd have to go with better matches.
Not that it's my decision or anything.[/color]

Are you serious?
My vote goes to The Undertaker, by a mile. First off, if it wasn't for The Undertaker, we never would've had Kane in the first place. Secondly, The Undertaker has been an unstoppable force for like 15 years now, and people still love to see him. Even when he was the biker Taker, people still popped huge for him. Such is not the case with Kane, nowadays. His character is crap, the fact that he talks is crap, the fact that he isn't disfigured at all from either fire he was thrown into... his hair sucks, his stupid little fake eye sucks, and his outfit sucks. He was great for about four or five years, but since, he's been crap, and if you ask me, he's got nothing on the Dead Man.

I'm in the minority in that maskless evil facial expression Kane is my favorite version of him and as much as I'm driving the Big Red Bandwagon tho in the grand scheme of things..
Taker > Kane

Both - but only just after Kane debuted.
Remember that time? Whenever 'taker would come out and the lights would go down and the whole arena would be bathed in a dark blue light - then when Kane would come out anhe the whole place would be immerse3d in a creepy red light - no spotlights, no lights of any other colour in the arena.
That was one of the little things that made wrestling so great back then - the look of the thing, the feel of the thing.

Undertaker had a great innovative gimmick for the time of his debut, but Kane scared the balls off of me and I was in high school when he debuted.
What's with the Taker now anyway? Old gimmick, but still dresses and fights like the biker? It confuses me.

Kane by a hair. Personally, I liked Kane as the enforcer in a tag team. His weird chokeslamming X-Pac as a tag team finisher was just cool to me. When Kane got emo even, I found it cool that he was fighting for something other than to be a monster. Yet there was still creepy cool things, like when he talked about chasing a skunk underneath his house in celebration of winning the tag belts with RVD (if anyone else remembers this, please tell me, because it doesn't seem like I imagined that.) Taker was always Taker, and was solid. But Kane...now that's cool. *Gets sued by Carlito.*
