Man...I must be the only one who absolutely hates this gimmick. Regardless of the cheap, nostalgia pops it's getting now, it's bad for the brand because....1. Putting the tag team belts on a washed up, overweight, out of shape former wrestler and a stiff, still green, rookie wrestler is idiotic. The Smackdown tag scene was actually starting to shape up nicely, with the additions of MnM, the Mexi-cools, and the rumored debut of Balls and Axl. WWE doesn't even trust "LOD 2005" enough to wrestle real matches. Just 15 second squashes.
2. This is exactly the opposite of what Heidenreich needs if he wants to progress in this business. He needs to be in the ring with a veteran, sure. But he needs to be in the ring with a veteran that can help him learn how to work, not wrestle squash matches. He needs to be led in the ring. Invariably this tag team will implode (as they all do) into one partner turning on the other. A Heidenreich/Animal match would be a travesty.
3. They did this same thing with LOD 2000, while Hawk was still alive and it didn't work then either. No one wanted to see Droz and Animal. The bottom line is that Hawk was Three-Quarters of the talent in a two man team.
I respect the opinion of everyone here, but as much as most people here seem to hate Johnny Ace, I can't believe that him pushing his brother back on TV just to relive some former glory and sell a few DVD's at the expense of younger, more talented performers, isn't raising the ire of more people.....Anyhow....long winded rant over...... ;D
i totally respect ur opinion but i do disagre, i think its a great idea 1 animal IMO was always the better out of the orginial lod, 2 the squash is what lod is and will always be about, 3 heidenerich is ideal for the role hes a big guy that needs to learn how to wrestle but he has charisma, lod2000 got out of hand with the lame ass suicide angle.
and about johnny ace i hate him with a passion but he brought back animal due to the dvd and cause of the 24/7 thing theres a legend tie in with that so there could be more legends coming.
and on a other topic r balls and axl signed to wwe.
and the singers name was rachael gordon i think and they ended up going for coffee her and ned
