Okay.
So, I got the game today, with the DVD. I'm gonna look at the DVD later, but I can't really play the game right now. My 360 is......nonexistent right now. I'm gonna go visit my brother in law on the weekend, and maybe play with his PS3, so I'll get round to it then and play his copy.

I got it.
It's pretty bad. Moves are incredibly limited, no one sells anything, the controls suck.
The gameplay isn't nearly good enough to make up for the lack of anything else.

My brother really likes it, but it sometimes crashes on story mode.

Gaming Ring gave it 3 out of 5 stars. It looks like the majority of the reviews all come to the same consensus: graphics are great, the gameplay is fun, but it doesn't feel like a "full game" in other words, it lacks features.

FYI- For PS3 owners there is a manual install for the game. But it takes away from load times, so I'm personally ok with it.

I work at a Best Buy, and the we got it in today, just so you know, the 360 version we carry has a bonus "4 Hour Sting DVD" I'm guessing it's the one they issued last year but I don't know.

The gameplay isn't exactly that fun, either. Selling and pacing is even worse than the Smackdown games, and the controls are awful.

Going by reviews, I'm not even sure this would qualify as a "rent".

This just seems disapointing.
Oh well my brother takes out used game from gamestop to try so it won't cost me a thing.

I've had it for a couple of hours now. The graphics are good... the arenas are actually unique (so far I've been in Mexico, the army base, and the Impact Zone). The story mode has been good so far... you start out from nothing in Mexico and work your way up to the big time. The crowd models and animations are the best I've seen in a wrestling game. The moves are nice and fluid from what I've seen so far, and the reversals come off really nice.
The worst problem I've noticed so far is that if you try to grab your opponent while he's rising from the ground, you will try to grab toward the ground and miss. I've noticed a leg or two go through a ring rope, but it really wasn't too noticeable.
I agree that it fairly simple to pick up and play. X is punch, A is kick, Y is grapple. LB acts as a modifier to give you a strong punch/kick/grapple when you press X/A/Y. After you do so many moves, your impact bar will fill up... once it is full and on fire, you can strong grapple your opponent and press B to do your finisher... pretty simple. You can reverse moves by pressing RB (a RB button will flash by your name if a move is reversable). RT is run, which lets you pull off other moves in conjunction with A,X,Y. When you are in a submission hold, a 3 button combination will flash by your name on the screen (and also by the opponent). If you finish entering the sequence before the opponent finishes theirs, then you break the hold. When you go for a pin (automatically after a finisher or pressing B while the opponent is down), then the 3 count starts. You press left and right on the stick to fill up a kickout meter. If you fill up the meter before 3 then you kick out, otherwise you lose. The kickout meter fills more slowly as your wrestler is worn down.
I've never been that crazy about create-a-wrestler, but it seemed like everything was there. My only complaint was that you can't change the color of some of the items (wristpads, hand tape).
A lot of the reviews I have read nitpick the game since it doesn't have a lot of frills (extra game options, more weapons), but I am enjoying it.

As stripped down as the game already is, apparently the PS2 and Wii versions are even further stripped down. Sadly the PS2 and Wii are the systems I have, so looks like I'll contunue playing Guitar Hero this month and wait til TNA is under $30.

Allright, I've spent some time playing exhibition matches, and I gotta say I'm impressed. The game's fun to play in the ring. It's not genius, but the gameplay is certainly a huge leap above SvR. If they can rival SvR's number of matches and other features in another game, they'll be on top of the world.

You know, its not that bad. I have only been playing for an hour or so but, I like it so far. The graphics are amazing (better than any other wrestling game I have played) and pick up and play ability is alright. Its not as easy as they claimed it would be but, nothing in the game is so far. The commentary is miles above SVR but, that is not saying much as it sucks here too.
Without all the damn hype this would be a damn fine game but, after the hype it does seem to fall a little short. It is still a damn good game and worth the time to play it.
I haven't gotten into the Story or Create A mode yet.

SPOILER WARNING
So far in story mode I've got up to the part where you win the tag belts from LAX, and then AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels jump you from behind.
The Good: It has a story mode that doesn't bore me to death.
When you go to Japan to wrestle the Motor City Machine Guns, the Japanese fans in the crowd actually act like Japanese fans... I'm not going to explain it here, but if you've seen Global Impact then you know what I mean.
Double Reversals are awesome
The Bad: So far in story mode the opponents have been about 60% CAW and 40% TNA wrestlers. Some of the CAWs are cool (the luchadores), but others just look like guys off the street.
I wish you were able to pick your own tag team partner in story mode. Eric Young is cool for the first few matches, but I was pretty much sick of him by the time I won the tag team belts, and glad that he got put in the hospital

Don't know if anyone has posted it but the Gamespot review is up. www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/tnaimpact/review.htmlThey gave it a 7.0 and were pretty flattering. As everyone else seems to be saying the core gameplay and animation are solid. They'll provide alot of fun and be a good groundwork for future games. On the downside the story mode and general depth of the game are lacking. Also, the game suffers from general wrestling games problems such as some animations not working correctly with one another and there being ways to avoid moves. Not a glowing review but not scathing either.

Just got my copy and according to the manual Senshi is in. His name is listed in the TNA entertainment section under wrestlers along with the other 26 wrestlers confirmed for the game. Sweet!
That gamespot review was the best I've read so far. It treats it like its own game and not something to compare to Smackdown. That's how it should be.

Couple of more random thoughts. Reversals are too easy on strikes but, too damn difficult on grapples. Did anyone else find it weird that Devon is available at the start but, Ray isn't (or did I just miss him)?
Also, the story mode isn't too bad so far.
EDIT: There are a couple of mistakes on the case and book. On the case it says you can compete online in tag, UX and submission matches despite the guy in the Q&A saying one on one only (haven't been online to try) and in the picture of AJ on the match type page, it lists Full Metal Mayhem despite it not being in the game.

I like that there are actually CAW's you run into in Story Mode. That was one of the fun things about Smackdown 2, was beating guys made of parts that you then won.

I've played it for about an hour now, and I gotta say, its a hell of a lot of fun. The glitches and lack of features are apparant, but it doesn't take away from the gameplay. It's fast paced and seems like a really good multiplayer game.
I don't know whether it's an Australia exclusive or not, but my copy I can claim two TNA dvd's from 2007 as well, which is weird since I haven't seen any TNA dvd's on store shelves anywhere.
