He asked for a NOAH name, I gave him one. Here's another one: Muhammed Yone. Well, as expensive as it would be, the storyline would work even better if instead of NOAH or Dragon Gate, they got someone from New Japan or All Japan as the ROH Champion. At least then the "we can't afford to get him to come back" has a little more credence.

He asked for a NOAH name, I gave him one. Here's another one: Muhammed Yone. I actually want someone not from NOAH. To make the story more real I want someone outside of NOAH and Dragon Gate since they have worked with ROH more than other Japanese feds. I want the ROH board to go boom like the night Punk won the ROH title and people didn't know what would happen next. I want people to wonder is this guy going to stick around? Lose it to an ROH guy in Japan? Will ROH crown a new champion and build up to a unification match? Is ROH is going out of buiness and selling out to Japan!?!?

Actually, another way I would do my own idea... Marufuji wins the belt, and brings it back to Japan with him. He then Homicide's the belt to someone in Japan, and that person proceeds to refuse to come back to the States with it. It could honestly be anybody, but the long and the short is that Dragon would be the man to win it back. A) He's respected in Japan, and B) he could honestly do it. If you want a real mind bender, have the person that beats Marufuji be LOW KI.

Most of these ideas are great, then you have to ruin them by having Bryan Danielson be the one to bring the belt back to America.

Marufuji wins the belt blah blah blah. Goes back to Japan blah blah blah. Loses the belt to Low Ki. Low Ki refuses to come back because of his bad blood with RoH in general, but he can't resist using the belt to make his star "bigger." Danielson goes over and loses by the skin of his teeth and returns without the belt. Nigel goes over, and loses once again by the skin of his teeth. Then someone unexpected gains the number one contendership...Kevin Steen. Low Ki refuses to face Steen because Steen doesn't really have any name value in Japan. So Steen goes over and beats Marufuji in a tag match, thus beating NOAH's only Triple Crown holder, and thus making a name for himself. He then faces Low Ki for the title, and package piledrives him in the middle of the ring before getting the 1, 2, 3. He then returns with the belt, blah blah blah Tyler Black phoenix splash WINNAR!!!

I honestly think you just plain don't like Bryan Danielson. Oh, no. I like AmDrag, all right. I'd hate these ideas if it was Austin Aries, or Morishima, or Homicide, or even Samoa Joe. I just don't think that ANYONE should be a two-time ROH Champion. IMO, it makes the belt more meaningful. It just proves whether or not someone can carry the company on that one reign. Look at the past: Punk, Dragon, Joe, and Aries all had great reigns. That reflected their positions on the card after their title reigns. (Except Punk, of course.) They were all consistent main-eventers/upper card during their time in the company. Now, compare those to Homicide, Low Ki, and Morishima. Low Ki was never too high on the card after his title reign, and Homicide and Morishima vanished shortly after they lost the title. Coincidence? (I know Homicide got pulled from ROH by TNA, but still.) Hell, look at Nigel. His title reign, while starting slow, has been EPIC. From that, I can personally guaran-damn-tee that he'll be pretty high on the card for the rest of his ROH career.

I'm fine with Danielson winning the title again some day, but I agree on this because we need a new champion for this feud. How about having a major heel save ROH? Have the NJPW/AJPW/Other Puro star beat top ROH faces like Danielson, Strong etc and finally have ROH turn to Sweeney to bring the title back home (This could also work with Jimmy Jacobs depending on his push)

How about someone who doesnt hold the title forever, just as an excuse for ROH to make the belt seem like its worth more.

Not to bum off of The Lone Ranger's idea (which I absolutely love by the way), I would have kind of envisioned an ROH World Title "vacant in the states" kind of approach as well. However, something a little more heated, controversial, and "close to home"-- I think--would be to have a newcomer that all of you know pretty darn well come in during January (this person will be named in a couple of lines). Obviously, he has a good debut weekend with a pair of wins in January when he shows up. ROH simultaneously plans for Nigel to dish out a "there ARE no contenders" for me type of comment here or there (but don't OVERdo it). They cycle in a couple of guys who legitmately haven't gotten their shot against Nigel and he executes them during January/February. Finally, ROH books an Austin Aries or Bryan Danielson "one final time" against Nigel for March (or April in Houston). The card is set to be loaded in Houston. However, Danielson or Aries (whoever the opponent is) goes down with an "injury" and can't wrestle for the show. (I personally would think Aries is a little more expendable in this role, because Houston deserves to see Danielson go all out.) As a last minute ordeal, ROH sets up a Four-Man elimination match on the Friday show, and they fill the match via the website Newswires slowly over time in varied fashion. The final name announced for the card is the guy who showed up in January, and was already announced and scheduled for that weekend anyway. His name ... is Doug Williams. And surprisingly, Doug wins the Friday elimination match, setting up what should be an interesting yet predictable match against Nigel with Nigel going over, but instead Williams goes over Nigel, and the title ironically goes to England with him. (He would likely defend it in Japan a few times, however ... but still.) This also opens the door for an up-and-comer like Tyler Black or Steen or whoever to bring the belt back home, so to speak, and be the ROH hero of sorts.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would also love to see Jimmy Jacobs or KENTA as Champ too, so whatever would work fine for me. You could feasibly substitute KENTA in Lone Ranger's plan and I'd be more than fine with that.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And, by the way, my comment about Houston deserving to see Danielson go all out wasn't meant as a slight to Aries, which is the way it seems as I look back and read it. I do think Aries would be more expendable in the role, PLUS he hasn't gotten his shot all that recently, so it would work with him. He could even do a "trial match" on the Friday where he sells the injury nonstop and even wins if you want, but they announce that he has done considerable damage to himself in the process and is unavailable for Saturday's match.

You know, Doug Williams would work exceedingly well in that role. Plus it gets RoH out of the "must be Japan and only Japan" mentality that it's in. Plus they could use him as a "I'm not a Japanese clone like you all" type of guy which is why he's "unbeatable" so to speak.
I like it!
