I looked at Mir-Nogieura as the main event and was actually bored during the Griffen-Evens fight. But despite that I am 3 for 3 in buying UFC ppvs (UFC 69, 91, 92)

If you guys haven't bought a DVD from the UFC this year, I suggest you get the DVD of this show. Just an awesome show all around.

So we've got Lesnar/Mir, Evans/Rampage, Big Nog/Couture and Griffin/Liddell possibly coming out of this. UFC is set up nicely for 2009.

And out of those, only Lesnar/Mir I would want to watch.

Watching the replay, I just want to reiterate: NEVER. HIT. KONGO. IN. THE. BALLS. He gets really mad, and just scary. The way that fight played out was just awesome. An eye for an eye, then they touch gloves and Kongo lets loose. Awesome finish.

Turns out Evans is defending against Lyoto Machida first up. Somehow I doubt that's true. Meltzer stated there's going to be some type of meeting soon to decide what to do with the upcoming main events. IIRC, they've got things booked through March so they've got plenty of time.

I really want to see Mir/Lesnar 2, that's got a lot of things at stake, first off it could be what makes the fanbase FINALLY accept Mir as a top heavyweight, 2 there's Brock becoming the second coming of Randy Couture and beating Mir solidifying himself as a true Fighter, and 3 this is big money for MMA.
A story they use, with 2 fighters who have great promotional skills and aren't afraid to talk excretory matter when they need to.
I also loved Rashad telling forest to kiss his dick. IT was totally an Ali type of move, as he actually hit him after the taunt.
Seriously UFC is awesome with how many personalities they actually have.

Rampage KTFO Silva, wow, that left hook came from nowhere. Minotauro had an off night versus Mir. Mir has a great gameplan and it worked. Can't wait to see Mir/Lesnar 2. Hopefully April I think. Rashad's handspeed is lighting quick. It wasnt the greatest main event ever, but it wasn't the worst. I can see Rampage vs Evans next year, once Rampage settles his legal issues. I think Wanderlei needs to take some time off. He's been getting KTFO too much lately. Same for Nog, he needs time off or maybe another heavyweight to get him back into contention. Maybe Randy/Big Nog. Forrest will probably fight someone else first before getting a rematch.
On a side note, did anyone notice Kongo intentional knee to the nuts, he turned around so the ref wouldn't see the smirk on his face. Then the brutal ending. Damn. Matt Hamill's striking needs to improve. His wrestling skill is there but his striking needs to get better to improve his game. I saw no improvement from the Franklin fight, but the potential is there. there was also a lack of killer instinct from Hamill, like against bisping.

I don't think that was "THE BIGGEST EVENT IN UFC HISTORY~!" like they were hyping it to be. And I don't think 93 will be the "PAY PER VIEW THAT ALL OF US UFC FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR~!"

Turns out Evans is defending against Lyoto Machida first up. Machida's got a fight lined up against Thiago Silva, winner of that in all likelihood will get the shot. I'd put on a Griffin/Rampage rematch with the winner getting the next shot after that.

They're talking April in Montreal, along with Anderson Silva's next defence.
The purses for 92 are out - Rampage got the most money with $325,000, including a win bonus and KO of the Night bonus. Evans got $130,000 including win bonus, and the funny contrast sees Nogueira getting $250,000 and Mir only $90,000 including win bonus.
