Well, thanks for that insight. Obviously it wasn't great, but it was underrated. Tiny Lister brought the feud down a lot, Hogan worked his ass off and made him look like a threat. Just Tiny couldn't work worth a damn and wasnt a wrestler so he was never going to stick around. It did feel too much like promotion.

i always wondered we hogan struggled with zeus at sseries(i always thought that sseries 89 made hulk look weak) when he clearly beat up at sslam, there was no mention of that. in hindsight they just should of had the cage match as teh one and only tag match if they werent gonna mention summerslam. maybe they could have gone with a dq ending with hulk vs macho, or even save the bossman cage match for sslam Technically, Hogan used a loaded purse to beat Zeus at Summerslam, so it wasn't a clean win. Only in the blow-off cage match did Hogan beat Zeus convincingly (after 3 legdrops no less). Hogan made Zeus look 10 times better than he had any right to look.

I've actually never seen the sslam match, did Zeus have a chance to do much?
At SS, he just choked him constantly for a few minutes, which I can see putting someone down.

I've actually never seen the sslam match, did Zeus have a chance to do much? He basically no-sold any offense from Hogan and Beefcake for the first part of the match, did his basic offense in between (choking, bear hug, etc), and then started selling Hogan's offense at the end of the match. Though they protected him by having Hogan use a loaded purse to win. But Savage did the majority of the work, as expected. Zeus was used sparingly.

don't laugh, but I think that "no holds barred" cage match between beefcake / hogan and savage / zeus is one of the most underrated matches ever. next to greg valentine vs. ronnie garvin @ royal rumble 1990, and the british bulldog vs. the warlord @ wrestlemania 7. but we'll save those for another thread. ha.

Lister had a great look, as many here have said already. He was freaking huge, and he looked like a legit psycho. And he played the character well with snarling faces and bellowing shouts. But yeah, he could not work at all. Even his punches looked utterly weak-I could imagine being hurt worse getting pawed by an unclawed kitten. If Lister had the workrate of a guy like Kane or even Snitsky, than he could have been an honestly awesome monster heel.

A debate on those would be great.
