Has that been inducted? If not, do you think it deserves to be? In my opinion, I think it does. I wasn't really watching wrestling during 1996, but I still have the VHS copy of WM12 and remember seeing that there was a storyline with Goldust and Piper during that time. I heard that during that era, Piper was an on-screen WWF president (Kind of the same thing how later on, there were GM roles and Commissioner roles) and got into it with Goldust on RAW, especially since he was supposedly obsessed with Piper. I remember watching that segment during that event and thought it was kind of funny how the WWF managed to get the OJ chase footage and use it, especially since Piper drove off in a white Bronco. Then later continued in between (probably to kill time between Diesel/Taker and Shawn/Bret). Also, the other that makes this Wrestlecrap is the part when Piper stripped Goldust and he was wearing a teddy/corset underneath. What do you think?

I liked the idea and the backlot brawl was really the first 'hardcore' match in WWF which would pave the way for the attitude era. I thought the fight in the back was brutal. However they should have kept it at that just a fight in the street instead if putting all the other crap in and having Goldust stripped in the ring. I wouldn;t say wrestlecrap or induction worthy mostly because of the original fight and also it was one of the highlights of WM 12 (which really isin't;t saying much) and as said it was paving the way for future hardcore and starting to help pave the way for the attitude era.
To clear up Piper was acting commissioner at this time as the full time commissioner (Gorilla Monsoon) was out injured due to an assault by Vader (who had not long came into the company at that point) on Raw a couple of months earlier. Commissioner is nows what is called G.M.

I remember watching this as a kid, and I had no idea they used footage from the O.J. Simpson chase. I remember going to school the next day and going crazy over the fact that Piper chased Goldust all around California.

To answer the OP's original question, yes this has been inducted.

To tell you the truth I didn't realize it was the O.J Simpson chase until I read this thread but always thought there was something not quite right about Piper being chased by a load of police cars in a different color vehicle from what he left in for no reason also. I never pay attention to things like that lol

I felt they shouldn't have tacked on most of the stuff in the arena. Though the match was Ok.

I just checked out the previous inductions section and it doesn't look it was inducted. Might not be too bad, but I would like to see Blade or RD's take on this, especially the footage of the OJ Simpson chase being used.

I heard a few years ago that Hall was supposed to face Golddust, but he really hated having to deal with the character.

I heard a few years ago that Hall was supposed to face Golddust, but he really hated having to deal with the character. It didn't make scense Hall not being on the card as he was still in the company at that point. However he did wrestle Goldust at Royal Rumble 1996 where he lost his IC championship and have a mini fued with him around that time also.

why should it get inducted it's awesome Athough I liked it I can see others points mostly for the 'OJ chase scene' been put in and all the other footage from the arena and in the ring the original fight was awesome though and was the first hardcore style match in WWF history.

I liked the match. Mainly because it's two tough as hell guys just going at it. No punches were pulled, and you can tell. If you have the match or if youtube does, check out the STIFF shots Piper gives Goldy.

I am probably blocking the match out of my memory, but was this the one where they kiss each other and Piper ends up stripping Goldust of his clothes (revealing female lingerie)? If so, then yes, induct this. And after the induction, burn the tape/DVD. Not something I want to see ever again, and I'm a Piper fan.

The OJ stuff was idiotic but the fight itself was great. And yes I do believe it was supposed to be a tribute to the fight in They Live.
