With the unified title idea I would have it similar to the unified tag titles where the champion can appear on any brand. The brand loyalty of the divas would be fairly nominal, as they could all compete to be number 1 contender. I'd also slim down the title picture to just the well trained wrestlers, and have the rest as mainly valets. Of course it would also help if they came up with storylines and characters other than just to do with title feuds, but that's probably asking too much isn't it? That's where the issue of feasibility comes into play. If their division was composed entirely of well-trained wrestlers, they would have a much smaller division, but most of their women who get relegated from wrestling to managing really wouldn't be very good as valets, not to mention that there would be an overflow of them to that position. There's really no way that I can see WWE ever doing that, either. The difference in the ratio of valets:wrestlers wouldn't be that dramatic. Here's how I see it: Core wrestling division: Mickie, Beth, Gail, Melina, Natalya, Michelle, Katie Lea, Jillian Part time wrestlers/valets: Maryse, Alicia Fox, Eve, Purely valets/managers: Maria, Layla, the Bella Twins, Rosa Mendes, Kelly Kelly Then you have the likes of Angela Fong, Miss April, and Serena Deeb in devlopmental who can be brought into the wrestling division when a spot becomes available, or they can be initially debuted as valets (although that sometimes limits their wrestling debuts) Now the likelihood of their whole booking philosophy changing over night is probably not that likely, but it's still interesting to speculate.

Mickie unifies both titles, turns heel, then joins SRS Show and starts coming out in suits. Yes. Yes. Yes. At leasts she'd still show her tummy in matches.

I'm not talking about the ratio for the women's roles, I'm saying that they'd have too many valets for any purpose whatsoever.

Isn't that where creative is supposed to be, you know, creative? Edit: Actually I'll try it myself Maryse has tremendous presence and mannerisms that would go perfectly with a heel main eventer, or a heel you want to elevate like the Miz Eve has already been a sidekick for Cryme Tyme Alicia was a good lackey for Michelle McCool Maria is already with Dolph Ziggler (I love that partnership btw and wish they'd do more with it) Rosa Mendes could have a stylist gimmick for both women and men, with her real motive being to cause mischief Kelly Kelly could be a sports psychologist (could be a phoney degree) hired by wrestlers, but is perennially looking for the perfect man, and ends up falling for her clients Layla could be a snooty dance coach who runs a dance team as part of the PPV entrance for a wreslter. There that took me 5 minutes! Anyway this is getting horribly OT. So get well soon Michelle!

I suppose they could hire Vince Russo and let him make a storyline where all the valets and untalented divas fuse together to create one super-monstrosity.

It's too bad that she was injured, but at the same time it might end up being good for the Women's division. It seems like no female heels can get a push on SmackDown outside of McCool.

(I come not to bury McWho, but to build her up while also adding to the title picture on two fronts. I know it's far-fetched Creative would spend more than 5 seconds on planning Diva matches, but this would make it more appealing.)
Don't mention Michelle is hurt, hold a 4-way elimination match on Superstars: Michelle vs. Melina vs. Natalya vs. Eve Torres. (Because Superstars needs a jolt.)
Natalya could do her spinning clothesline on Michelle early, causing Michelle's leg to buckle. Work the leg for a short while, then Eve with her moonsault and all three cover the champion, taking McWho out of the match early. You could have agents rushing to ringside, carry her out on a stretcher, the whole shebang. Could bring up how it took 3 Divas to take out the champion. It makes her look strong, just a victim of circumstance. (I'd sooner have Michelle lose the belt in the ring instead of just getting counted out, but I'm building to something here.)
Basically, it's now 2-on-1 against Natalya, but Melina does a sudden turn on Eve and lets Natalya pin Eve to get her vengeance from a previous 1-on-1 match.
Melina turns back against Natalya, which brings the fans back onto her side. (Push that it was every Diva for themselves, and they picked Eve because she was weaker and not as experienced.) Back and forth early, Natalya does the sharpshooter, Melina wiggles her flexible way out of it. Melina makes the comeback, screams, and makes the pinfall. As the count is being made, Tyson Kidd rushes to ringside to pull Melina off of Natalya. Melina gets a quick shot on Kidd, Natalya hits her clothesline again, putting her out. Sharpshooter, and no response, bell rings. Natalya is your champion.
You've built up one-on-one matches with Melina, Eve had a victory over Natalya in a women's match, so there's bouts with her, and there is the always-looming Michelle when she comes back. Can turn her into Triple H; show her rehab and all that stuff.
Natalya's title victory lights a fire under the Hart Dynasty. (have them talk in the back afterwards, "We come from a long line of champions in our family, and somebody had to get things started. I've done my part, now it's your turn!")
Not only build up all 4 Divas involved, but get a floundering tag-team to step it up a notch due to their "manager" winning a belt? Looks good to me.

Might as well just keep it on her and ignore the division for a few months, ala what happened with Trish and Maryse during their injuries. Really, will anyone notice?

Hope she recovers okay, but truth be told its not a ridiculous loss to the Women's division. When the champion of a weak division is injured, it is a ridiculous loss. Smackdown has McCool and Melina as the only real women's wrestlers on the brand. Nattie is a solid wrestler, but WWE seems to be more interested in her being a manager. Layla and Eve are improving, but not ready for title matches and Maria is plain awful in the ring.

I don't see any real option but unification. On Smackdown there's just Melina and Eve. Nattie is busy with the Hart Dynasty. Maria doesn't wrestle anymore (not that I'm complaining) and Layla only occasionally gets in tag matches as the second heel because there's noone else.

So if Eve was wrestling the women's champion and the champion is deemed unable to continue the match due to injury...
...doesn't that make Eve the women's champion?

Mickie unifies both titles, turns heel, then joins SRS Show and starts coming out in suits. Not much of a Mickie fan, but I would mark for this...especially if she would periodically reinforce what Jericho said during promos. Jericho: "That's why all you parasitic drones are complete failures." Mickie: "Failures!" Booker T yells "GEE-MACK IN-FRIDGE-MAT!"...which I think means "gimmick Infringement."
