Part 126: Revelations--- Previously, the Investigation Team found out that the person they thought was the killer was innocent after all. This, of course, raises another question... that is, who is the killer then? That is what we shall find out in this very update. (In case there's someone reading this who doesn't want to find out the killer's identity for some reason, this would be a good time to turn back. Just a heads up.)--- Monday, December 5We decided to leave the investigation for today, since it's a day off and all. I'm still not entirely sure if we will actually be able to solve the case, but we have to try for the sake of the victims... and for Namatame. We need to bring the real killer to justice, no matter what. With that in mind, we head to the shopping district to talk to the people there. Even that is easier said than done, though, as the fog has gotten so thick that hardly anyone is around nowadays... Those who are still around either don't remember anything about the case because it's been several months since Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi were killed... ...or are simply bats*** insane like this weirdo here. I'd tell him Junes is not a country, but he'd probably freak out so I'm not gonna bother. The others aren't having any luck either. I have a bad feeling about this. Apparently, no one noticed any suspicious individuals at any point. I try to ask about that too, but no one manages to give me any kind of a satisfying answer. This old guy is still great, though. No, he doesn't remember any suspicious people either. This is hopeless. This is the closest thing to a decent answer I get from anyone, and even that is just about Namatame meeting Saki at the flood plain. We now know he talked to her in order to warn her about the killer, but the rumor making the rounds is that he was making advances on her. Actually, I think I heard that one before and remember thinking "man, what a piece of crap." I feel kind of ashamed of myself. Oh well... back to work, I guess. Is there no one around here who can tell us anything about the case? Anything? Apparently not. I walk around town and talk to everyone I meet for quite a while, but no one seems to know anything. I guess I'll just meet up with the others and report my findings... or the lack thereof. Dammit, this sucks. It kinda hurts when she says it like that, but she does have a point. We found out nothing new, and nobody in this town even cares about the case any more. They heard Namatame did it, and that's enough for them. They don't care about the details. But hey... let's go over the case one more time, shall we? Naoto? This is looking more and more hopeless by the minute. Kanji says no one paid attention to his questions and would just rant about the fog, and Rise says she ended up having to listen to questions about herself or something about the Midnight Channel. She didn't find out anything about Teddie, either. Naoto: "But there must be someone in this town who meets all the criteria for this case. The killer must have a connection to both Saki-san and Ms. Yamano... As well as be in a position to observe our actions, to some extent..."Um... wait a minute. I think I might have some kind of an idea. It's probably a dumb idea, sure, but let me think about it for a moment... ...Hell, I'll go outside too. Maybe getting some fresh air would help me think. Yosuke joins us as well. Okay now. Let me just go over the criteria once more. First of all, the killer has some kind of a connection to both Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi. Also, they have to be in a position to observe our actions... they're also probably aware of how the Midnight Channel and the TV world work, as well as knowing about Namatame's action... and last but not least, they are able to approach Dojima's house without attracting suspicion. Who in this small town could fit all the criteria? Think, man, think! Now wait just a damn second here. I thought my idea was dumb, but maybe I'm not THAT far off base after all. Okay... this is it. Let's go over a list of everyone who could potentially be the culprit. Nope, it's not any of my friends, that much is certain. Nor is it Namatame, we already established that. It can't be Dojima either... so that pretty much leaves... well... ...Adachi. Let's think about it. He is a police detective, so no one would find him suspicious and he could hide or destroy evidence if needed. He has also been conveniently feeding us information throughout this whole thing, telling us about the police's movements whenever we encountered him. Most importantly, he is Dojima's partner and knows him well, so it would be no problem at all for him to drop off a letter at the Dojima residence. He does fit the criteria better than anyone we know... but, why would it be him? What kind of sense would that make? Oh well, might as well throw his name out there as a potential suspect. It can't hurt at this point. Naoto: "A member of the police force... That is an interesting approach."Hey, it was just a theory. I'm not sure myself if it holds any water, just throwing it out there when I was thinking of people who might fit the criteria. Yosuke: "Huh. Well, if you think of it that way, I guess it's possible..."That's a good point Yosuke is making. Even though Adachi fits the criteria, he is just Dojima's mostly useless partner, right? How could he be the killer? Unless... Holy crap, it's cold out here. All right, let's get back in and talk about this some more. I wonder what it is that has been bothering Naoto about Adachi? I think something about him bothered me as well at one point, but after all that's happened recently I don't remember what that could be. Eh. Let's discuss this now. The others don't seem to believe my theory is believable either. Hey, like I said, I just threw it out there... well, mostly. Something about the guy did seem off at some point, I wish I remembered what that was... Wait, WHAT? So he did have some sort of a connection to Mayumi Yamano. It seems a bit tenuous, but nevertheless there was a connection. Chie: "I wonder if he knew Ms. Yamano..."
Kanji: "I dunno about that, but I heard he did call out to a girl in my class. I found out this afternoon. But I thought, y'know, that's just how cops are, so I didn't think it had anything to do with the case..."Something else, huh? Umm... you don't mean... ...Gahhhh! Dude! No way! That sounds really, really wrong. You know... I'm really starting to think that Adachi might not quite be the lovably inept rookie detective we know him as. Of course, we're gonna have to talk to the guy before we go accusing him of murdering people. Still, if the stuff everyone is saying is true, and I don't see why it wouldn't be, Adachi is looking quite suspicious right about now. But yeah... really, let's not get carried away quite yet. We almost ended up killing Namatame already, and it turned out he was innocent. I don't want to do that again. And if we go and say a police detective committed the murders without any proof to back that up, we're totally f***ed. So... let's think about it and ask Adachi carefully if he happens to know anything about the case. Naoto calls the guys at the hospital to try and get Adachi on the line... Huh? Now? It's late night! What kind of a time is this to transport someone out of a hospital? Well, f***. Let's hurry over there! The Social Link voices seem to think Adachi is the true killer.. but as I said, let's not get carried away quite yet. --- A while later, at the Inaba Municipal Hospital...We came to talk to you. Got a minute? Again, huh? It appears the nurses have told Dojima several times that he shouldn't leave his room, but he doesn't seem to be listening for some reason. Adachi: "Huh? Oh, well, yeah. I mean, we can't leave him here with Dojima-san and Nanako-chan around... Didn't you guys think so too?"Maybe. Or perhaps there's something more to it than that. Let's ask the guy a few questions... Wow, Adachi seems kinda edgy today, don't you think? I wonder if it's just because of Namatame being transported out or... ah, speaking of Dojima, look who's here! Dojima: "There's been a lot of noise today for some reason..."Dojima doesn't react in the way Adachi seems to have expected him to, and instead demands to know who authorized that. Looks like Adachi has overstepped his boundaries a bit here. Adachi: "G-Gimme a break, Dojima-san!"
Dojima: "Those first murders have been bothering me... His motives are shaky, and his alibi is rock solid. We closed a lot of loopholes based on his testimony, but that part's still nagging at me."Wait, so now he is talking back to Dojima and acting like this super serious detective? That's not the Adachi we know and... yeah, really not the Adachi we know. Even Dojima notes Adachi's out-of-character moment there and wonders what in the hell got into the guy all of the sudden. Adachi goes back to sounding like he usually does, but... well... that was somewhat strange if you ask me. Dojima wonders what we are doing here, and we tell him we came to ask Detective Adachi here a couple of things. So.. Detective Adachi, what can you tell us about the day Mayumi Yamano went missing? He is lying. Yukiko already told us he came to the inn to "guard" Ms. Yamano that night... obviously, we're not telling that part to him. We're getting there, it seems... of course, it might be that he just doesn't remember (he even says as much, it's been months), but doesn't this seem awfully convenient? Okay then, next question... Detective Adachi, how did Saki Konishi's interrogation go? Once or twice. Uh huh. Right. Actually, it's wrong because we know exactly how that went, but once again we won't mention this particular detail. Yes, this has helped us tremendously, thank you very much. Oh yeah, one more thing, if you don't mind! Whatever happened to that warning letter I got the night Nanako was kidnapped? He doesn't remember. That's convenient. Damn, this guy would forget his own name if it wasn't on his badge and if Dojima wasn't screaming it every ten seconds. But hey, it's not so bad, I mean, who cares if such a useless little bit of evidence goes missing, it's not like the crime lab could get any fingerprints from it or anything! Right, Detective Adachi? Yeah, a prank that said that someone close to me would be kidnapped... which, as you might recall, happened that very same night. Oh, come on now. This isn't so hard to comprehend, is it? Oh no, you don't. We're not finished yet. Naoto: "Just one more thing, please. We know for certain now that the first two murders were not Namatame's doing. Someone killed them. Adachi-san... Do you have any idea who that might be?" Adachi is clearly getting nervous now, it's like he's looking for a way out but he can't go anywhere. Kanji: "'Cause we think it mighta been you."He did what now? What do YOU know about this, Detective Adachi? Dojima: "Do you know something about the method behind their murders...? Don't tell me all that talk about TVs and whatnot was..."Oh... I'm pretty sure he knows. I'd go as far as to say that Detective Adachi knows much more about this case than he is letting on... he might even have some first-hand information about the method, if you know what I mean. At this point, it's obvious that Adachi is freaking out. He knows he is f***ed. Once again, he has let crucial information slip, but this time it probably wasn't intentional and will not throw us off. I think we've nailed him. Naoto: "I see... Now I finally understand. To tell the truth, Adachi-san, I've been fixated on something you once said. Before, I didn't know why... Only that it sounded a wrong note to me."Naoto: "How, I wonder, would that 'settle' anything? At the time, the police had no idea that there had been other attempted murders related to the case... You had no reason to say such a thing. After all, there are countless examples of people disappearing for a few days..."Oh yes. I remember when he said that. It was at the scene of Dojima's car accident, and I also remember that it sounded wrong somehow. We didn't read too much into that at that point because Nanako had just been put into the TV and Namatame had disappeared, not to mention Dojima lying in a bloody heap on the ground right next to us. If we had realized this before... Now, Adachi REALLY knows he is f***ed. It's obvious by now that he is the culprit, but before we can react he pushes Yukiko and Chie out of the way and runs away as fast as he can. Chie probably could've tripped him or kicked him in the balls or something like that, but whatever... So, we run after him. He runs pretty fast, but we can see him dodge inside Namatame's hospital room. The f***er is cornered. We got him... ...no? God damn it! Didn't he go this way? I think I know exactly what he did and where he went. Meanwhile, Dojima is taken away by the nurse who seems to be losing her patience with him. He asks us to find Adachi... by god, we will find that guy and when we do, he will pay for his crimes. You know, on Saturday night I mentioned to Naoto that this TV ought to be removed from the room because Namatame might escape through it. Of course, that was unnecessary because he was innocent all along, but we didn't know that then. In any case, the TV is still here. Maybe... oh, of course. If Adachi is the killer, and I see no reason for him not to be, he must be able to enter the TV. Perhaps he intentionally kept it here just in case something like this happened? Eh, I'm probably giving the guy too much credit... I don't think there's really any doubt at this point, but if he is over there it will certainly prove his involvement once and for all. We will enter the TV at Junes, just like we always do. If we went in from here, who knows where we'd end up. We might fall right in Adachi's backyard or something, and God knows what he is capable of inside that world. So yeah. We're going in there tomorrow. Yes. One strike. That guy is going down. And once again, we'll deliver that strike together. ---

Part 127: In Dreams--- This is... ah, looks like I've been summoned to the Velvet Room again. Great, it's not like I wanted to sleep or anything after spending the entire goddamn day running around town and then after Adachi... really, I hate it when Igor summons me here in my dreams, because I always feel really tired afterwards. And how about this, Igor actually forgot to show up this time! Margaret isn't here either. Too bad... but hey, wait a sec... is that... TEDDIE?! What in the name of the late great King Moron is Teddie doing in the Velvet Room? I mean, I'm happy to see him and all, but I thought you could only get in if you signed a contract and all that. How did he get here? I have a binding contract. How about you? Teddie tells me he has finally figured out just who he is. Turns out he was no one. Humans live in this world and Shadows live in the other world, that's all there was to it. That's right. Teddie is a Shadow. Yeah. I'm not sure if I should be surprised and/or alarmed by this revelation (because I'm really not... it was perfectly obvious to everyone that Teddie isn't a human being, and he lived in a world populated by Shadows, so... yeah, this isn't really all that surprising if you ask me), even though it's obviously a big deal to him. But never mind his somewhat questionable heritage, everyone's been worried sick about the guy and we gotta have him back on the team. Speaking of which, where did he go and how did he end up here in the Velvet Room? Teddie: "As soon as I thought that, I lost consciousness... Then when I woke up, I was inside the fog. Shadows can't stay in the human world... They aren't allowed."So basically, once he realized he was a Shadow, he was sent back to... wherever it is the Velvet Room is located. I think it's supposed to be somewhere in the subconscious or something... which would kinda make sense in Teddie's case, because he is a Shadow and Shadows are born from the thoughts of humans. As soon as he found out he was a Shadow, he ended up back in this... mist. I guess. Where is that Igor when I need him to explain stuff? Ah. Well, that cleared everything up. Teddie finally remembers how he came into being. It seems that he was living in the "world shaped by human thoughts" as a Shadow, until one day he awakened to human emotions for god knows what reason. Because humans and Shadows are different entities, he made himself forget he was a Shadow and took this form so that people would like him. Teddie: "No matter how much I search for myself, I have no self... There was no me to begin with. I'm just a shadow that took a different form so humans would like me. It would've been better if I'd never remembered, but I did..."No, you're not gonna turn into anything, you dumbass bear. You can use a Persona, for crying out loud. What kind of a Shadow can use a goddamn Persona? Uh... Ted? About that... I'm convinced that it was Teddie who saved Nanako's life in the first place. I don't know how he did it, but her recovery was pretty much a miracle that science is unable to explain and I would bet money that it was somehow Teddie's doing. Maybe when he thought he couldn't do anything he somehow went... uh... bear-serk and happened to use all his powers to bring Nanako back to life, ending up in here as a result. The fact he disappeared at pretty much the exact moment Nanako came around is quite telling. Whether or not he actually did that, hearing about Nanako's recovery makes Teddie a lot happier. Nostalgic? Hm... I wonder why that is. Oh well, it's Teddie, you can't expect everything he says to make perfect sense. Yeah, I guess this technically is my dream world of sorts, which makes his presence here all the more strange. Then again, my life has been full of strange events lately, so this would be just another one on the pile and actually one of the least baffling ones. Oh well. I wish Teddie would just come back to our world, but can he do it now that he knows about his status as a Shadow? I have no idea. Teddie doesn't know why we met here and what he is supposed to do now, but I tell him we will find out together. Hm? The Social Link voices are back... what? Helel? I can create Helel now? That is... really f***ing metal, to be honest. But yeah... we're gonna need Teddie's help if we want to catch Adachi. Now we just gotta get him back out of here somehow... YOU FOOL! I didn't finish talking to you! ...Oh well. As soon as Teddie disappears, Igor and Margaret are back. You sure about that, Igor? I'm fairly certain there was a Shadow sitting on the seat just now, and knowing that guy he was probably at least considering drinking all your booze. Then again, Teddie can use a Persona so he can't really be a Shadow because Personas are born from Shadows and... I'm so confused. Can I go back to sleep now? Uh... okay then. Really, I'm kinda tired, so can we make this quick tonight? And so, the Velvet Room... err, limousine starts moving again, through the mists of time and space and mind and matter... or wherever we are right now. All I know is I need some sleep and being here is not helping. As much as I'd like to stay and chat, I really should be going now. Tomorrow is going to be an important day... we're going to find Adachi and bring that son of a bitch back to our world. So yeah, if it wasn't obvious by now, Igor has no clue where this car is going either. Great. Or maybe he knows and just isn't telling me. That is just as likely. But, as I said, I really don't care and I really should... get some sleep...... --- Next time: Can we find Adachi? And what about Teddie? (Sorry for the short update, but Seta isn't the only one who needs to get some sleep right now)

Part 128: Walk Among Us--- Tuesday, December 6I kinda hoped Teddie would somehow show up at Junes today, but no such luck. Where did that bear go after he left the Velvet Room, anyway? I guess we're just gonna have to go hunt for Adachi without him. The fog has gotten thicker as well. I'm pretty sure Adachi has something to do with it. Unfortunately, Rise can't tell us exactly where Adachi is. At least we've now more or less confirmed that Adachi is the real killer, and once we find and defeat him we just might find out what this world really is and how it came to be. However, we need to actually find the guy first, and sadly it seems Rise can't do it on her own. It may be that the fog is so thick that Kanzeon can't sense Adachi properly... but whatever the reason, this isn't good. We need to find that guy as soon as possible. And Teddie as well. Where is that dumb little bear when you need him? --- Meanwhile, in Nanako's hospital room...Nana-chan's hospital room... so, I'm back in the human world. Doesn't matter... I'm useless. I couldn't do anything...Nana-chan!Nanako: "You said... hang in there... I heard... my big bro... and everyone else, too..."The doctor says even unconscious people can hear others' voices, and that could be why Nana-chan came back... was I actually capable of helping her? Maybe I can do something after all...Unknown, huh?Did that make any sense? I guess not. I'm not that smart, so this happens every time I try to say something deep. It doesn't matter, though. Right now I feel like I can help Sensei and the others. I gotta help them.
I'm not gonna stop thinking about things, I'm going to do my best from now on. That is what I came back for, right, Nana-chan?Somehow, my Persona becomes stronger. Don't know why, really, I guess it's got something to do with Sensei and Nana-chan...All right! It's time for Teddie's grand comeback! Let's do this! I'll be right back, Nana-chan!--- Rise: "But he was always there to support me whenever..."
Chie: "That bear's a loudmouth, but he's nice to have around. He's always so full of energy."
Naoto: "He's lighthearted, and always optimistic..."Yeah... I agree. Sure, I've wanted to punch Teddie in the face numerous times for a variety of reasons, but he made just about everything more fun and entertaining. Kinda made it easier to forget that we're actually putting our lives on the line every single time we enter the TV world. This doesn't feel right without him... Rise is feeling kind of weak from using her Persona for so long. The fog might have something to do with it as well. In any case, we decide to call it a day because it's getting kinda late in our world... and since Rise isn't feeling so good, we wouldn't be in top condition if we were to fight Adachi. Might as well try again tomorrow, maybe we'll have better luck finding Adachi then. Ah, don't worry about it. You can do it... what? Teddie? Sure enough, there he is. I don't know how he got back here, but the main thing right now is that he DID get back here in the first place. Whoa! Hm. By the looks of that, this is probably the closest thing to scoring with a hot chick that Teddie will be experiencing in the near future. Uh... Rise? You might want to release him before you accidentally suffocate him to death. We just got him back, so it would kinda put a damper on things if you killed him now. Teddie probably wouldn't mind going out like that, but... yeah. Go easy on the poor bastard, will ya? And so, Teddie tells everyone the same stuff he told me in the Velvet Room. Teddie: "Yup... Just like the ones you all know about. Shadows are suppressed human thoughts given form. Everyone has them inside."Wait, does that mean I have one of those Hulk Hogan or Jushin Thunder Liger monsters inside me as well? Can I turn them into Personas somehow, because that would f***ing rock? Eh... I guess not. Yeah, what kind of a Shadow does that? Dude. You can use a PERSONA. That's pretty special, isn't it? Yosuke: "I mean, we weren't expecting much from you in the first place. And about you being a Shadow, we pretty much figured you were something like that anyway."Err, yeah. Actually, his look isn't really all that different from some of the more colorful Shadows we've seen, the main difference is that Teddie doesn't have one of those masks that have the number of the Shadow's arcana on them... Naoto: "It's true that you may have been born that way. But you now possess the power of Persona. A Shadow is suppressed power... Once controlled by the ego, it becomes a Persona. Doesn't it follow, then, that you must have developed an ego?"Well yeah, he does sometimes act like he's pretty full of himself. Yes, yes, I know what she actually meant by Teddie developing an ego... I just couldn't resist the opportunity. Ah, I crack myself up. Looks like Teddie's return has already made me crack jokes that are almost as bad as his never-ending bear puns. Ah, yeah, that makes perfect sense. I guess. Chie: "Oh! Teddie's practically human, then."
Teddie: "I-I'm... the same as humans?"You're almost human all right... Oh man. Yosuke: "You'll fit right in, man."
---
(As a huge fan of the band, I feel the need to post a random Misfits song at this point)
(There we go. Now, back to the regularly scheduled Let's Play.)
---
Naoto: "I beg your pardon? Who are you calling a misfit?"
Rise: "Isn't that just you, Senpai?"
Yosuke: "Hey, that's not something a detective would say... Or an idol, either!"...Misfits, huh? Sounds good to me. The next time we meet, I'll make sure to wear my Fiend logo shirt. Anyway, we all laugh it up, it looks like getting Teddie back on the team has already helped us find that smile we lost a few days ago. Oh yeah... since Teddie has been AWOL for the last couple of days, he probably doesn't know that we found out who the real killer is... Teddie: "Whoa... I didn't notice at all. Looks like I'm pretty blind to that sorta thing. But you all know him... If you can't find someone like that, then I don't think I can help you..."Somehow, this convinces Teddie to help us. I don't think he needed any convincing, really, but still. All right. The band is back together. Tomorrow, we will try to find Adachi again, and this time we'll be successful. --- Wednesday, December 7"Adachy-baby"? What in the... eh, never mind. Just try to find him, please. Teddie almost gives up, but then Rise looks at him in a manner that makes him try harder... Holy crap! He's not messing around any more! Maybe he found Adachi after all! Or maybe not. Then, for some reason, Teddie starts wandering around. Hm... looks like he actually might have found something. Hey, wait a second, isn't that where we... That's it! That's the place. When we first got here, we wandered in that direction and came across this weird portal and... and... Holy crap! HOLY CRAP! GAHHH! Did she HAVE to bring that up? Me neither. Can we talk about something else, something less disturbing, such as murders? Yeah, actually I think he just really had to go and almost did right there in the corner of the room, but couldn't because me and Chie were in the room as well... Why do I remember this? I don't want to remember this. Let's just go and find Adachi, shall we? Okay, that was bad. Even Teddie himself realizes it was bad. Still, there is always SOMEONE who finds these jokes funny, I guess... All right, let's mosey. Adachy-baby... uh, Adachi isn't going to beat himself up. I think... We find Adachi in the creepy room, muttering to himself. Wait a minute, is he... is he talking about Mayumi Yamano? GAH! What happened to his face? Guy looks psychotic! Then again, I guess he is... Or he's been hitting the bottle for the last couple of days, if that expression is any indication... Okay, let's get serious here. We can joke around once we've stopped this bastard. Sure he doesn't, that's why he has that slasher smile/happy drunk smile on his face. TO BE CONTINUED

Part 129: Adachi tells all--- I have this weird feeling again... it's just like that time in Namatame's room. I think we're about to see another flashback. Sure enough. As Adachi talks, we can see exactly how everything happened. This, I guess, is the lobby of Amagi Inn, and it kinda seems like we're watching through a security camera or something... I have a bad feeling about this. If we're watching what I think this is, there's a reason for that bad feeling. There's Mayumi Yamano, seemingly trying to get away from Adachi. Supposedly Adachi came there to "guard" her, but from this it seems obvious that she had no idea about any such thing. Again, Ms. Yamano takes a few steps back from Adachi. She knows he's up to something. Oh god. I can't believe what I'm seeing. Ms. Yamano is visibly scared now and once again backs off towards the TV. She should've run... This is horrible! Why do we have to see this? And look at Adachi. The guy was clearly enjoying this. Oh shit, I think I know what's coming next... I can't watch. My god. And he is loving it. The sick f*** is totally loving it. I seriously can't believe what I just saw... thankfully it seems as if the flashback is about to end, I don't think I could have taken any more of that. Yukiko: "That... happened in our lobby...?"Adachi: "I burst out laughing when I found out. I knew right away that this was going to be interesting!"
Yosuke: "So you tested it out on Mayumi Yamano."Yep, sincere, that's our Adachi all over. Just look at him. Betraying... What the shit? From all appearances, Mayumi Yamano had never even met this creep before that night! Dear god, he's even more twisted than we imagined... Oh god. Don't tell me he had his eye on Saki as well! Adachi: "And naturally, if there was any chance she'd seen something, I'd need to know, right?"Ah, crap. Here we go again. Seeing these flashbacks in detail was already uncomfortable enough when it happened with Namatame, but this is just wrong on so many levels... Adachi: "Well, we'll get to that. But you know, I saw you this afternoon."Was probably stalking her or something. Saki gives Adachi a hard slap in the face. Gotta say he deserved that... and so much more, and he shall get all that when we're done with him. This is so wrong. I seriously can't bear to watch... Adachi: "God, these high school girls today. This world's gone straight to shit."Adachi: "*chuckle* Life's not so bad after all."Adachi: "Yeah, like that'll happen. *chuckle* As if I'd walk into a deathtrap like that..."He even took the time to taunt her. He is actually proud for what he has done. I... I have no words to describe this. And can this goddamn flashback end already, for crying out loud?! This... I... what... no. NO. What a despicable piece of shit. What a sorry excuse for a human being. Yosuke is understandably about ready to strangle Adachi himself. Is this guy serious? He can't be serious. No one is like that. Thanks, Yosuke. Yosuke: "You knew from what happened to Mayumi Yamano that people die in here!"Adachi: "*sigh* So what if I knew?"Adachi: "Nah... He called the police in the middle of the night, just after they found that Saki girl's body. The rest of the force had their hands full with the double homicide, and it happened that I was the one who took the call."
Naoto: "Namatame said the police refused to take him seriously... You were responsible for that, then." Adachi: "If anyone else had taken the call, sure, but I actually did believe him, y'know...?"Brilliant. Cue flashback in three... two... Adachi: "Huh... That's the pattern to the two deaths so far? And now you're seeing a girl in a kimono on that weird program, and you think she'll die too. Is that right?"Namatame: "B-But... it's true! If there's any way the police can protect her..."Adachi: "It does sound interesting, though. Oh, I have an idea... If you really want to save her that much... why not do it yourself? Like..."I can almost see that creepy smile on Adachi's face as he's telling Namatame what to do. This is all his doing. The murders... the kidnappings... everything is his doing. He's been pulling the strings all this time. I seriously can't believe this... I mean, Adachi?! We thought he was just this inept but sympathetic rookie detective who helped us out every now and then, we considered him someone we could trust... which, I'm sure, was his intention all along. At least the flashback is over again... Adachi: "All I did was give him a little push. And he completely bought into his vision of this world. The more people you guys saved, the more he'd kidnap... Both sides had the best of intentions, so the game of cat and mouse would never end. Haha, it was awesome."So lemme get this straight. Adachi didn't even have a reason to do all this?! He was just... just... murdering people and tricking Namatame for the hell of it? Chie: "Y-You murdered people just for the fun of it?"Adachi: "And Namatame did most of it. I had nothing to do with any of you."
Kanji: "You're just dodging the blame!"
Adachi: "Yeah? Then how would you prove it?"Teddie: "Grrrrr, what a jerkwad!"Adachi: "I do admit, though, I never thought you guys would manage to track me down."Adachi: "It's like when I dealt with that Kubo kid. That was fun, too."Crap, he did that as well? Naoto: "I did sense something odd in his course of action... If he had special powers and wanted attention, why resort to a regular copycat crime? But that wasn't the case... Kubo had no such powers. In fact, he was thrown in by you... Am I correct?"Chie: "And... How come Mitsuo didn't say anything about you?"True. He is a detective. Sure, he is also a complete monster who gets a kick out of murdering people and trying to sexually assault women, but he is still a detective. Adachi: "I let him through to a room at the station with a TV, switched off the lights, and did it quick when he was still startled. As long as he didn't see me push him in, and no one else did either, no one would believe him... even if he survived. Of course, I don't think the Kubo kid ever figured out what happened, haha."Yosuke: "Wait, the police station...?"Adachi: "Yeah, he turned himself in pretty quick, actually. This was back when we didn't even know enough to issue a search warrant. But the other officers decided it was just a prank, so they pawned him off on me. I didn't blame them. I mean, a kid coming and saying 'I did it all! It was me'? Who'd believe him? But it looked bad... I didn't think anyone would come forward and take credit for all the incidents. The police were desperate to pin it on anyone... If this kid really did it, they might have announced the case was closed. And if that happened, Namatame would stop 'saving' people. I couldn't let that happen, or the game would be over. That's why I told the others I sent him home. I came up with the idea to put him inside the TV on the spot." I still can't believe what I'm hearing. I mean, I CAN believe what I'm hearing since Adachi is confessing to all of his crimes in such excruciating detail and I know he is the one who did all that shit, but I don't want to believe someone in this town would actually be capable of doing such things. Adachi: "You gotta have some excitement in life, don't you agree? But then you guys put your foot in it yet again and ruined my fun."We ruined your fun, huh? I'm glad we were at least able to do that. Wow. What a champ. I'd call him a piece of crap again, but that would get somewhat redundant by now. Adachi: "I guess the guy started to develop some kinda messiah complex, huh? What an idiot."Namatame always tried to do the right thing. His methods may have been somewhat questionable, but he is still far more of a man Adachi will ever hope to be. Yosuke: "This is all a game to you..."I... don't think he cares about our forgiveness, Yosuke. Save your strength for when we actually take this f***er down. Adachi: "You can keep your forgiveness."Wait. What?! Merge? Oh my f***ing god... so that's what's going on. The worlds are merging... oh shit. Oh shit. That means the end of the world as we know it is coming, doesn't it? I just... we... uh... f***. Okay, that's it, you are going DOWN! The hell? He can do THAT? Create a clone of himself just like that? What kind of power does this guy have, anyway? It's a Shadow? I... you know what, f*** it. If this is a Shadow or whatthehellever, then where in the holy hell is Adachi himself?! Adachi: "Wow, you can tell that much?"Yukiko: "The Shadows'... goal?"The Shadows have a goal? Does that have to do with that crap about the two worlds merging? I guess it does... No. F*** no. That can't... that just can't happen. We are not going to LET that happen. But, on the other hand, can we even stop it? Oh, believe me, we will come. We will come and beat the shit out of you and finally wipe that ridiculous grin off your face... and if that helps us prevent the end of the world, all the better! If not, then... no, there is no alternative. We WILL stop the dimensions from merging. We HAVE to stop the dimensions from merging, and we will have to do that before the end of the year. Huh? Kanji? Oh, we are coming to get you, all right. The end will come, but it will not be the end of the world nor the end of Inaba, the only thing that is going to end is Adachi's "game". Hard to say, but we're going to assume he was serious. Inaba is full of the TV world's fog as is, so I don't see why the stuff Adachi was saying wouldn't be true. We're just gonna stop the whole thing before it's too late. Teddie: "Not only that... Maybe he got taken over by that power."Yeah, or maybe he was just totally f***ed up in the head from the beginning. Why didn't we see through his disguise before now? Chie: "Didn't he say that it would happen by the end of this year!? What happens then!?"Teddie: "If the fog gets even thicker and this town is completely shut off from the outside world... Then... the other side might become full of Shadows, like over here."
Rise: "You mean... everyone's gonna turn into Shadows...!?"Oh, f***ing hell. This sounds a hundred times worse than I thought. I really, really hope we have some way to stop that from happening. We can't let Inaba be swallowed by the fog. Ever. Yosuke: "Dammit... Damn that bastard!"We are going to take him down. That much is certain. Yosuke: "Yeah... It's about time we finished this. I don't want to feel this way ever again."WAIT WHAT IS THIS OH GOD A BLAGGOLE ...oh. Hm. Looks like one of those portals that lead somewhere. I bet that's where Adachy-baby is. Wait, why am I calling him that now? F*** him. Kanji suggests we go in right now, but we should prepare first. If the guy is as powerful as he says, we don't want to go in there unless we know we're ready for it. Thanks, Naoto. I agree wholeheartedly. Hell f***ing yes. We're not going to let Adachi win at this point... or ever, actually. This is gonna be it. We've cornered the real killer, all that's left to do is defeat him once and for all. I hope that will help prevent the worlds from merging, but we'll worry about that when the time comes. Still... Adachi. Man. That guy really managed to fool all of us, didn't he? Never again. ......

Part 130: "This, uh... this town... There's something 'wrong' with it"--- Thursday, December 8First it was just those weirdos in gasmasks who were screaming about the world ending. Now it's spreading to the normal folk as well. I wonder if this is an effect of the fog. Speaking of the fog, it seems even thicker than usual, and now some sort of black stuff is floating in the air as well. Great. I guess I spoke too soon when I said it was a good thing it wasn't raining ashes instead of snow. I kept making those jokes about Silent Hill, but at the rate we're going and if Adachi was telling the truth, Inaba is soon going to BE the closest thing to a real-life Silent Hill there can possibly be. We must put a stop to all that before it actually happens. Hm. The world may or may not be ending, but I can at least find solace in the fact that my grades are the best of our class. I go talk to the old fisherman after school and show him that I caught another Guardian the other day. The old man almost has a heart attack, but when he regains his bearings he goes off and returns with this wooden katana from his collection he wants to give me. Apparently he inherited it from his grandfather years ago, and the story goes that this sword was used by Miyamoto Musashi himself... and has some sort of special power that might be related to him. For all we know, this could be the very sword Musashi used to defeat Kojiro with in their legendary duel. Whether or not that is the case, it doesn't feel like just any wooden sword, that's gotta be said... there's some kind of a weird aura coming from it. It's almost like this sword is telling me that I will get stronger as long as I wield it. I guess I'll try it out next time we go inside the TV. This town is going to hell. Literally. Yosuke told me he'd listen to Akira Yamaoka's songs on his MP3 player while out on town, maybe I should try the same. This silence is getting a bit unnerving. What the f***? Leave me alone and stop spouting that crap, will you? Hey, isn't that guy the businessman from out of town? Now it's too late Too late for me, This town will eventually take me Too late, too late for me This town will win.
Through this fog they came along Dark creatures singing a terrible song The rest of the bar laughed at him Only I felt my hope grow dim They found him dead the very next day No more stories from him, I heard them say We blame bad luck, for his fate. Only I felt terror so great.
She and he will know... That someday... All things will end...
That misty night That dismal moon The dead search for their kin While angels sing, in endless dark The dead seek out sin.[/url] This is madness. F*** this, I'm going back to school because it's the least depressing place in this town right now. On the way back I stop by the Velvet Room and fuse Sui-Ki just for the hell of it. I happened to run into Ai at the school gates, and since I figured I had nothing better to do I decided to accompany her on her trip to Okina City. And that's where we are now. Okina City is also shrouded in fog just like Inaba, so I assume that if Inaba gets swallowed by the fog the same thing will happen to this place... who knows how far it'll spread from there. Man, this is depressing. Ai also seems to be feeling under the weather a bit, since she doesn't even feel like shopping for stuff today. That, or she has simply already bought everything there is to buy out here. (Note: I actually had to go and switch graphics plugins on my emulator when we got to Okina. The screen was a goddamn mess of textures for some reason, I guess something about this place doesn't agree with the ash/random black stuff that is floating around in the fog. I later noticed it was the same thing outside the Dojima residence. You probably won't notice the change from the screenshots so I'm not sure why I brought it up, but I thought I'd mention it anyway)Since Ai doesn't feel like shopping, I suggest we just sit down and chill out for a bit. She doesn't seem to understand why, but I think it might be interesting if I got to know her a bit better. Then again... *shrug* Hey, me neither, to be honest. I only really joined the soccer club because I thought I might make friends there and possibly develop a Social Link. Sure enough, that happened... and now Daisuke and Kou are among my best friends in this town. I suppose things worked out pretty well at the end there. And yeah, I guess soccer is pretty cool. But sports in general... I don't know. I'm actually more of a spectator type when it comes to sports, and even then I usually don't bother. The reason she brought this up was that it was apparently my advisor who told her to manage the soccer club (which she never does, as we all know). I'd like that... if the soccer club wasn't on an indefinite hiatus due to this fog. Maybe if it ever lifts and the world doesn't end and I'm still alive by then, well, sure. That'd be cool, I guess. Maybe she's not so bad after all. Hm? Who's this guy? Now, I'm not gonna go and claim that I have the smoothest moves of anyone in Inaba, but who in the f*** goes to a girl he barely knows and asks her on a date when she is hanging out with a guy he doesn't know? (and who, as far as this guy knows, could be her date... which in this case isn't true, of course, since I'm not interested in Ai in that way, but HE doesn't know that) Well, that was expected. Ai rejects the guy without as much as looking at him. Now, he probably deserved that because his moves and timing were almost as bad as mine a couple of years back, but wasn't that just a bit harsh? I mean, she could've been just a bit more polite when she said that. Hm. A fair point, actually. Usually you'd just get that "You're a nice guy, but..." bulls*** in situations such as this, and that only serves to make you feel even worse. At least Ai was honest about it. Yeah... I've had my share of similar situations back home (well, sure, I didn't just suddenly approach someone and ask her out like this guy did, I'd get to know them better before doing anything, but still). We head back to Inaba shortly thereafter, Ai seems to be getting tired. I guess it's the fog that does it... I tutor Shu in the evening. Nothing of note happens. --- Friday, December 9Absolutely. We'll get that bastard. I want to work on my Social Links a bit before we go apprehend him, though, because I want to be as strong as I possibly can. Uh, sure thing. I don't know if Ms. Kashiwagi is aware of this, but the stuff you see in a softcore porn flick does not count as an exercise. I really, really hope she isn't talking about something she saw in an adult movie or anything related to those in any way... because with her it's genuinely hard to tell. Especially now that the fog is messing around with people's heads. I chat with Daisuke while waiting for Ai, when these guys show up and start talking about her. What in the crap? These guys will just stand there and talk all this s*** about Ai? Really classy. All right, you f***tards, shut the hell up already. Daisuke is offended by these idiots as well. Practice? We had practice? I thought the club was on hiatus due to the fog and the fact you can't see s*** out there. Why wasn't I informed? But hey, you do that, see you later. I wonder where... oh s***. Ai? She heard all that crap those cretins were spouting about her? Yeah... she did hear all of that. Oh man. She pretends it doesn't bother her, but I can tell it most certainly does. She even said she "expects" stuff like this. Is this what she has to go through every single day? Damn. I had no idea. All right... Let's do that. I walk Ai home, and while she still insists she is okay and the stuff those morons were saying didn't bother her, it's obvious that she is just putting on a brave face and doesn't really mean what she is saying. I spent enough time in the drama club and around Yumi to notice things like this. I finally managed to complete the Heavy-Armor Agni a few days ago... I think it was sometime last week. I actually meant to put it on the shelf earlier, but then all this craziness with Namatame and Adachi happened and I forgot about the whole thing. Oh well, better late than never... and I gotta say, it does look pretty damn good for something I put together. --- Saturday, December 10I almost tell these guys not to bother because I don't think you can deal with this fog that easily. All anyone in school and around town talks about any more is the fog. That, or something that they saw on TV and which must be true because it was on TV. Great. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this town is doomed unless something is done about the fog. Yep. I'm ready. Today, we are going inside the TV to look for Adachi. I don't think we're going to face him just yet because I still want my Social Links to get as strong as possible, but it won't hurt to go in there and train for a bit. And I'll get to test out that Musashi Shinai, too. ---

Part 131: MARA and Friends--- That room was apparently created by Mayumi Yamano's thoughts when she was in the other world. And yeah, that also means we're going to be entering Adachi's thoughts when we go after him. I have a feeling that will not be pleasant in the slightest. Yukiko wonders why Teddie was the one Shadow who liked peace and quiet and wanted to make friends with humans. Teddie isn't sure himself, he just says that at first he only wanted it to be peaceful but eventually, after spending time with us, he became the "friendly, lovable bear" we all know him as. That... actually doesn't answer the question at all, but I guess it doesn't matter. Naoto and Kanji believe Teddie took on human traits over time and forgot that he was a Shadow. That might be it. Uh... yeah. Should we go to the TV world already? Oh, wait, I gotta do some shopping first. Be right back. ...ri...to? Arisato? No, my name is Souji. Or Soji. Or Sōji. However you want to spell it, any way is fine. But not Arisato. That's a different guy. Actually, I wonder what became of him. Doesn't matter now, I gotta go buy those supplies and then go inside the TV. STOP CALLING HIM THAT Before we go after Adachy-baby... *sigh* ...Adachi, there's still two strong Shadows hanging around the Secret Laboratory and Heaven, so what we shall do first is go and defeat those. You know, training. But first, we hit the Velvet Room. I fuse Taowu... what in the hell is that thing supposed to be, anyway? Looks like a blue tiger with mosquito wings and a human face wearing KISS makeup... and Gene Simmons' tongue, apparently. Then there's Jatayu. The Sun Social Link powers him up big time. He's also important in the future because he learns Growth 3. Uh... holy shit, man. Babylon, the scarlet... yeah.Okay, let's rock. Kanji and Teddie show off their new Personas. Daisoujou, our #1 undead Buddhist monk, is great against Shadows that are weak to Light-based spells. They die horribly. The Harlot is very good at elemental spells. Shuffle Time produces another Persona I will never use. This is the big Shadow at the bottom of the Laboratory, we fight him in the room where Naoto's Shadow once was. This thing is called the Extreme Vessel, and it is ridiculously weak to wind attacks. It can take a lot of beating, though, so this takes a while. It uses Maragidyne a couple of times, but we can deal with that just fine. But eventually, we're victorious. The Musashi Shinai actually seems to work, I feel the spirit of Miyamoto Musashi running through my veins already. I guess Shadow Naoto dropped this when we defeated her... damn, that oversized sawblade still looks rather gnarly. Let's get out of here and defeat the other big Shadow. Time to visit the Velvet Room on the way, I think I can fuse some... HOLY F*** S*** AHHH WHAT THE CHRIST AND IT KNOWS GROWTH 3 MY GOD Oh please Lord Dick Chariot don't hurt me DEAR GOD IT HAS A MOUTH AUGHHHH STOP TALKING ABOUT PENETRATING THINGS (Yeah, I felt the need to censor Mara to protect the innocent. He actually IS a giant dick with a nose and a mouth. No, I'm not making that up. Also, note that his arcana is The Tower. Yeah...)Once I get over the Mara-induced shock, I also fuse Shiki-Ouji, a shikigami made of paper. Somehow, he's still immune to fire AND physical strikes. Before I go, I create Garuda as well. All right, time to take out that one Shadow. Hey, we're not gonna leave something like that running around unchecked. Why is one of my inner selves a huge green dick monster that spits fire? I probably have some issues that need to be taken care of... but hey, at least Mara is pretty good in battle. The girls were a bit surprised when I whipped him out, though. Another visit to the Velvet Room gives me Siegfried (who I think is the ultimate Persona of the Strength arcana) and Cybele. Cerberus (who I thought was supposed to have more heads) and Niddhoggr (a "dragon" that really appears to be some sort of a giant centipede and somehow manages to look almost as disturbing as Mara. Look at those teeth!) join the fray via Shuffle Time. This place is filled with Shadows that are only weak against Light and Dark spells, and that's why having Naoto around helps tremendously. Shuffle Time gives me more fusion fodder in the form of Kin-ki and Suzaku.Naoto, who as we know uses a gun in battle, sometimes decides to simply blast the ever loving crap out of everything, as demonstrated here on a group of Phantom Lords. That's supposed to be her special attack of sorts. Velvet Room time again. On this visit I end up fusing Nebiros. I wish he'd stop shouting like that. Back in action. We cut our way through some more enemies, and Shuffle Time gives me the Uriel card. Meanwhile, Daisoujou learns his unique special attack, Samsara. Samsara instantly kills just about everything that is not immune to Light. One of the Shadows here somehow manages to avoid that fate, but that is quickly taken care of. Yeah, I think it's safe to say that now we've really stopped messing around. I fuse Thor himself to do my bidding. Damn. Thor also has a unique spell known as Thunder Reign, which basically consists of him zapping the f*** out of some poor bastard. And here is Seth, looking quite badass himself. We're now about ready to beat the Shadow at the top. Right. This guy is the Lost Okina, and he likes to try and inflict status ailments on us. He also gets whacked with Naoto's Megidola. Thor and Nebiros kill the Lost Okina very dead. Hm, what's this...? Whoa! That is very nice. I end up giving it to Naoto, because her Almighty, Light and Dark spells are pretty taxing and this should help quite a bit with those. Yeah, now we're ready to enter his world. We won't fight him today, but we might as well try and get as far as we can... ---

Part 132: Long Way--- Hell yeah. Again, we're not going very far today, but let's get a feel of the place. Adachi's voice: "Don't you guys have anything better to do? What a bunch of losers... 'Let's find the culprit ourselves!' 'Let's meet at the special headquarters today!' Am I right, or am I right? Man, it's embarrassing. How old are you guys? Ahahahahahahaha! Oh crap, my stomach's hurting... You're all students, right? Shouldn't you be studying instead of wasting your time with this? Study hard, get into a good college, work at a respectable company, marry a cute girl... Why are you guys so desperate when it comes to something so useless? Won't you regret it once you're adults?" So yeah. This is Adachi's reality, called Magatsu Inaba. It may or may not be a vision of how Inaba will look like when the worlds merge, it certainly does have this sort of a post-apocalyptic world feel to it. I gotta say, though, even though this place is generally creepy as hell... those road signs with a picture of a Shadow on them are f***ing awesome! Yeah, that sounds like a weird thing to say in this situation, but you gotta look at the positives about all this... If I could, I would totally take one of those back home and put it on my wall. Hell, if we're still alive after we face Adachi, I just might grab one of the signs for myself on the way back. Before I forget, here's Adachi's dungeon theme. It's great, these songs seem to get better towards the end of the game.Damn, this place is a mess. In a nice touch, the doors are made of police tape. Of course, no TV world dimension would be complete without a bunch of Shadows trying to eat us. Of course, we beat the crap out of them, here's Siegfried showing off his Akasha Arts which doesn't hit as often as I would like it to but is still very powerful. Other Shadows get blasted to hell by Seth's Magarudyne. Well, we made it through another portal and this appears to be the second floor... or part of the world or whatever. There seems to be a slight problem, though... Yeah, this looks pretty bad. I have a pile of Goho-M's, so we can probably get out anytime we want, but if we want to find Adachi this might cause trouble for us. Adachi's voice: "See?"Oh, f***, speak of the devil. Adachi's voice: "Why can't you listen to me? You'll never become well-behaved members of society if you keep this up. Oh well, have fun in there."...Prick. Okay, ladies (and Teddie), let's just carry on ahead and see if we can find anything of interest in here or if we have any way to reach Adachi. Well, there certainly are quite a few Shadows roaming around, so Siegfried can beat the hell out of them. Hm... that's quite a big hole there. I can't see the bottom, but it looks like you can climb down the side so it's not like you'd have to jump straight into a bottomless pit. We'll leave that pit alone for now, though, let's see if there's a door or portal or something around here. Well, there IS another one of these door made of police tape and I can see a red and black portal on the other side, but... this has to be the strongest freaking tape ever, because the door doesn't open even if you try to cut the tape with a sword. I guess this is Adachi's doing. I guessed right. Adachi's voice: "That's right! As you have guessed, I'm waiting for you just beyond here. But did you think I'd just let you through?"Bloody hell. Right... I guess we'll go look for clues for now. We beat up some more Shadows, and Shuffle Time gives me this card of Belphegor. Great, a devil sitting on the crapper. Just what I needed right now. Well. I guess we have no other option but to jump... or climb down, to be more exact. I don't want to get killed just yet. Going down the hole takes us to another part of this world, called Magatsu Mandala. It still appears to be part of Magatsu Inaba because it looks similar and Adachi has power here. Adachi's voice: "Not bad, not bad! You guys are better than you look."Hm... I think I'll hit the Velvet Room at this point. Later! I create Surt in the Velvet Room. The Magician Social Link ensures he gets a crapton of... well, extra power, I guess, and learns Ragnarok. This is a really powerful fire spell that is unique to him. Into the abyss I fall, the eye of Horus Into the eyes of the night, watching me goFinally, there's Margaret's final request. The Trumpeter with Mind Charge. I tried to get him Growth 3 and Mind Charge, which was a horrible, horrible mistake. No matter what I did and no matter how many times I tried, I simply couldn't get him both of those skills. A GODDAMN HOUR LATER - in actual real life time - I finally went "f*** that shit" and decided to just give him Mind Charge (which in itself was hard enough... you have six Personas making up the hexagon fusion, and he can potentially inherit any skill from any of those Personas), with the plan to create another Trumpeter with Growth 3 later on when I get more money (if you consider the fact you have to summon the necessary Personas from the Compendium, fusing him costs approximately 150,000 yen. That is a lot of cash in this game).Hexagon fusion is nothing short of epic. Great, he talks like Torgo as well. Once more, Margaret is pleased. Margaret: "Congratulations... You've been through many challenges, and I hope you've grasped their meaning."(Meaning? Uh... Persona fusion is expensive as hell? FAQs will save your life, time and money?)Margaret: "I wanted to see you yourself struggle and complete the requests. You approached each challenge thoughtfully... And in doing so, you trained your soul... As I predicted, you have shown me that your soul is strong."That's... great, I guess. Margaret: "But remember, one's soul is fragile. The purer it is, the stronger it gets, but it can easily be led astray. It can take so little as a handful of senseless words... such as a lie or a rumor. Please remember that."I shall keep that in mind. Nice! Margaret: "Here... I want you to have this."Margaret: "It's only an object... But at the same time, it's an expression of myself. I'm sure you'd know, since you've struggled so much for me, right?"Uh, right. Thank you very much. This maxes out the Empress Social Link. Margaret: "As I thought, you're the person I had been waiting for..."I am? What kind of a person was she waiting for, anyway? Right... well, until then. It's been fun. Okay. Let's head back to Magatsu Mandala for a moment, maybe we can proceed up to the next floor today and then call it a day. It's getting pretty late out in the real world. Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers, indeed. When the Trumpeter blows into that thing, bad things will happen to those down below. Good to see the Tower of Fanatics from Final Fantasy VI is still finding work!Shuffle Time produces a Byakko card. We make it to the next part of Magatsu Mandala, and naturally Adachi's voice is there to taunt us as soon as we do. Adachi's voice: "What are you trying to accomplish, putting yourselves in danger like that? Trying to see 'justice' done? Is that really justice, though? Aren't you just doing this because you want a little spice in your boring lives?"Err... No. We are doing this to stop that creep from killing more people and - hopefully - to save Inaba from being swallowed by the fog. Maybe at first we were doing it to get some sort of a thrill, but pretty soon we were so far in that we couldn't turn back even if we wanted to. Well, first of all, we are... you know, not murdering people, you sick f***!No, I do not. If he's trying to give us some kind of a "not so different" lecture, he's really sucking at it. Yeah, right. As if we'd just sit back and watch the town go to hell in front of our very eyes without doing anything about it. Moron. What do you mean you can't deny what he said? I think it's pretty straightforward: This guy is MURDERING PEOPLE to get his jollies. We are saving people's lives because that is the right thing to do. Right... now it's getting kinda late, so let's come back here another day. One last quick visit to the Velvet Room produces Yurlungur, and thus we are done for today. I'll work on my Social Links some more, and then we will return. ---

You know, when I saw that hexagon fusion begin, this was the first thing that popped to my mind.
If you did that, Adachi would be totally screwed.

If you did that, Adachi would be totally screwed. He pretty much is totally screwed already, because the Trumpeter kicks ass. If I had time and money to waste, I could have been able to fuse the Trumpeter in a way that would have given him immunity to ALL attacks, but that would be a bit boring. Speaking of things that are totally screwed, here's the Persona 4 Caramelldansen vid! I didn't want to post this earlier, because it shows Evil Slasher Smile Adachi and that would have been a pretty ridiculous way to spoil the whole thing... ;D

Part 133: Hand of God has struck the hour
--- Sunday, December 11Daidara obviously knows what we are doing. He may not understand the specifics, but he would have to be a complete moron to not notice something is up when I go to his shop once a week to sell 150,000 yen's worth of monster parts. Actually... I think he knows more than he is letting on. He is buying all that stuff at a high price, he seems to recognize the parts, AND he knows how to make weapons and items out of them. I wonder what the deal with him is, to be honest. Once I've finished emptying a bag full of Shadow parts onto Daidara's counter and bought some stuff from him, I visit the Velvet Room for some more Persona fusion. If we're gonna beat Adachi, we will need the best Personas we can possibly get. Here is Belial. He's a pretty good allrounder, especially when he inherits the Absorb Wind and Magarudyne skills in the fusion. (in Persona 4, fusing Belial with Nebiros would create Alice, but I don't think I really have a need for her and I think I fused Nebiros already, so I'll just save my cash for later. And why is Belial x Nebiros = Alice? Well, it's a Shin Megami Tensei 1 reference... everyone has played that, right?)Ah. Good old Ms. Sofue. Even the town map is foggy and has that black stuff floating around.Even though she said she didn't want to see me again because I remind her of her late husband so much, Mrs. Kuroda seems to be happy to see me anyway. As she told me, she and her husband could only meet once a year before they got married. So, they'd send letters to each other instead, and it was always an important moment when she received one from him. I ask her what those letters were about, but somehow she can't remember any more. I think I can imagine the contents pretty well, though. It also appears she lost the letters at some point. She says she doesn't really need them anyway, but maybe she'd cheer up if she got them back... --- Monday, December 12I run into Kanji at the school gates, and he seems to be pumped up for our upcoming confrontation with Adachi. The Kanji Way, huh? (Why am I getting a flashback to Rob Conway promos where he said he'd do things the "Con-way"?)Male student: "Sure, you see it all the time in dramas, but it has to be true. Surely, my feelings are getting through to her."Okay... I really didn't feel like doing this, but it's obvious that this guy really needs some help. So, I give him the Animal Guide (TV World Edition, may include depictions of animals that don't exist in our world... maybe I should have read it first) he asked for and tell him to give it to her. I'm not sure if that will help any, to be honest, but maybe he'll shut up if I give him that thing. Of course... if we fail to stop Adachi and whatever is causing the fog to flood into Inaba, soon none of this will matter because we'll all either be Shadows or get eaten by them. Please don't call me that, it makes me think of those creepy little Cupid type Shadows. Uhhhhhh..... Thanks. Even though it seems pretty useless, this - admittedly pretty cool - doll seems to have a lot of emotional value to him and he asks me to treasure it, so I guess I will. I'll put it on my shelf later. Looks like this girl didn't get the guy she liked after all. (And you can't even see her because I'm an idiot and never pay attention to where Seta is on the screen) Oh well... yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. For answering another one of his funkadelic riddles, Jive Soul Bro here gives me a Snuff Soul. He may or may not believe that I'll eventually become as funky as he is if I keep using that stuff. Yep. Don't ask where I got it, though. Ms. Sofue is still awesome, so she gives me two more of those cool mystical scarab thingies. Unfortunately, she no longer seems to give out prizes for those who do well at exams, at least I didn't get anything this time. Principal Santa here gets the Training Shell he asked for, and I'm rewarded with... wait for it... A special lecture! How cool is that? (actually, it is pretty cool because it gives a big boost to Diligence, which I need if I want to max out that particular stat)Riiiight... turns out these are the letters Mrs. Kuroda's husband used to write to her, so I ask Daidara if I could have them and give them back to her. He lets me take them... by the way, this guy seriously buys anything, doesn't he? Man, f*** this. Never again. At least not until the fog clears, it's hard enough to look after these kids when you actually can see something... guess how it is when you can't see what's right in front of you. Pain. PAIN! I decide to make some envelopes just for the hell of it. I actually get paid pretty well for it now, but I'd say this is the last time I bother to do such an immensely boring task. From now on, if I want to bore myself to death, I'll play Final Fantasy XIII or something... And yes, this means that our hero has now essentially become John Cena... at least if you just look at those stats.--- Tuesday, December 13This town is still going to hell. That question makes sense in context, kind of. I manage to answer correctly, which means that I'm now apparently this guy's "riddle brother" or something to that effect. He gives me a Chewing Soul because that's how he rolls. Since there's nothing better to do today, me and Yosuke decide that we should go to the TV world and get ready for Adachi. So, we do exactly that. The first stop, as usual, is the Velvet Room. "Brighter" is right. Damn, Hachiman's face is shining so bright I feel like I need to wear sunglasses when I summon the guy. And yeah, he is the Shinto god of war, meaning that he's a badass. Yes, I just fused the freaking Ghost Rider. (Actually, his design is supposed to resemble one of the old Hells Angels logos, he is even called "Hell's Angel" in Japan, but go ahead and tell me that guy doesn't look like Ghost Rider. Sure, his skull isn't on fire and the 3D model is wearing a helmet for some reason, but just look at him!)We bash some enemies and come back to fuse more Personas. There's Sraosha, the ultimate Persona of the Justice Arcana. He is really, really damn strong. SPEAKING OF guys that are really damn strong... Taira no Masakado himself. Those who know their Japanese history might remember him as a great samurai and hero of the Heian period who would rebel against the government and eventually declare himself the "new emperor". (Others might be more familiar with his appearances in previous Shin Megami Tensei games, where he is such a badass that you can't normally recruit him to join your party... such as in SMT: Nocturne where he gives you the Masakados magatama - a.k.a. "the item that is so good it's almost a gamebreaker but using it doesn't feel like cheating because the game is so f***ing hard and you had to go through hell to get it in the first place" - instead)Finally, I create the... uh, the Genie from Aladdin? I have no plans of using him for anything because he's not that strong, I just decided to fuse him to get rid of some of my weaker Personas. Right. It's time for Sraosha to show what he is made of. Yeah... he just beats the crap out of everything. Meanwhile, Chie's Persona learns God's Hand. And we get more Personas we don't really need for anything. This place is really quite creepy, and there is a Shadow around pretty much every corner. Of course, we have Masakado. His Myriad Arrows skill kills everything really dead. It can wipe out an entire group of Shadows at once. Yyyep. Adachi's voice: "You can't encounter the Shadows here. Try and reach me without the Shadows catching you! Ready, set, go!"This guy is the most childish double murderer ever. I don't know how exactly he is able to decide whether we can encounter Shadows or not, nor do I have the faintest idea of what he will do if we DO encounter one of them. I'm not in a hurry to find out, so let's just be careful, okay? Hm... this isn't so hard. There are Shadows everywhere, but I think we can make it without them seeing us. Yes, we had to run around quite a bit, but none of the Shadows saw us! Let's see where we end up if we go this way... Ah ha! F*** you and your games, Adachy-baby. Adachi's voice: "As your reward, I'll fight you!"Yeah, right. As if he'd make it that easy. I bet there's a Shadow behind this door. Adachi's voice: "The only thing you deserve is to fight against Shadows."Oh, look, I'm psychic. I am really getting sick of these Shadows, so let's just beat the shit out of this one and continue on. Hey, this guy can clone himself! That's not right. So, I summon Masakado to drop a bunch of arrows on him and his new friends. One of them goes down instantly. Another one doesn't fare that much better, and so it's time to have Chie try the God's Hand on the last guy. Whoa... it is exactly what it says on the tin, a giant f***ing fist actually comes down from the sky and flattens some poor bastard! Remind me to never piss off Chie again... (and for your information, yes, I do in fact do the Monty Python foot sound effect almost every time God's Hand hits something)Adachi's voice: "But how long can you keep it up?"Did this idiot actually believe he could stop us with THAT? Eh, I don't think he did. Right, onwards to the next floor... Adachi's voice: "Who really wants it, huh? Isn't it just you guys? What good is the 'truth' if you're the only ones satisfied by it? See, you just want to satisfy yourselves..."Right, whatever. Let's go, we have Shadows to cut down. Kartikeya. He is pretty decent, but will be used for fusion and fusion alone. Hey, it's the Change Relic from Persona 3, and it brought its buddy! These ones are considerably less annoying, though!Well, in that case, screw them. We know better. Adachi's voice: "What do you think will happen then? They'll simply latch on to that instead. Nothing about them or the world will change."Maybe so, but something important will change. That something is the fact that Adachi will be in jail instead of here talking all this crap to us. You know what? F*** Adachi for now, I'm sick of hearing his voice and I need to still work on some of those Social Links before we go kick his ass. We have to be as strong as we can if we want to defeat him, so we'll be back next week. But first, let's punch the crap out of a random robot! DAMN! Won't happen on this run.She gives me the Velvet Pass, which gives me a 20 percent discount for summoning Personas from the Compendium (as a reward for finding or creating 75% of all the Personas). Not bad. ( "I would be glad to lend my aid?" What does she ever do for you, except give these minor discounts every 30 hours or so?)Before I go home for the night, I decide to create one more goddess who doesn't have too many clothes on. This is Ishtar, the ultimate Persona of the Lovers Arcana, and the way I fuse her gives her some very good resistances. Oh yeah, I finally remember that I got this thing the other day. Moves sometimes? It moves all the freaking time, actually. --- Wednesday, December 14Not if we can help it. Can we, though? I sure hope so. Right. Now everyone in school is totally losing their shit over what's going on, it seems. Apparently, someone fainted because of the fog or something. Look at those kids, even they have gas masks now. This town. To hell. Going. Fast. I'm gonna head back to school. I meet Ai, who drags me all the way up to the roof and thanks me for dealing with those idiots the last time I saw her. She was happy I did that, and now she is "in a weird mood"... WHAAAAAT?! THIS AGAIN? THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE SHE HAS TO BE KIDDING RGHASGDGAASD Seriously, what IS it with me and these girls? I mean, I'm flattered and all, but this is getting ridiculous... I can't talk to any young female in Inaba without this happening, it seems. Christ Almighty, I hate this town! Okay, actually I don't, I honestly love this town even though it's going to hell at the moment, but... WHAT? HOW? GAH! --- Tune in next episode for the resolution of this dramatic cliffhanger!

Part 134: Last Week on Earth?--- Why now, indeed? And no, this isn't even funny any more. Seriously, it never fails. Every time I meet a girl, no matter what I do, sooner or later they tell me they love... ...Daisuke? Wait, what? Daisuke?! Well, this is new. And I'm kinda relieved... actually, I'm really relieved, but why is she telling ME this? Uh... no. I don't think he does. And neither does Kou for that matter, that guy is too busy polishing balls. What? He looooves them balls. He even said so himself at one point! Basketballs, you know! What in the hell am I even talking about? People like... well, I don't know. I don't think Daisuke would like the character Ai usually puts on, but she really isn't a bad person at all once you get to know her better. So, I tell Ai to have some confidence, maybe things will work out. Since she isn't used to stuff like this, she believes I'm the only one she can turn to. Hey, why not? I don't mind helping out... Of course I'll help. She wants me to ask Daisuke what type of girl he likes. That doesn't sound too hard, I'd actually do it right now but I think Daisuke went home already. Don't worry. I'll ask him as soon as I can. Really. ...Well. That was interesting. --- Thursday, December 15Bespectacled student: "The town gets overrun by them and... the people who inhaled fog turned into them too! And the last person that appeared... looked just like me."Okay, that sounds really bad. Guy with a backpack: "It's like some kind of anime! I wonder how it feels to turn into a monster!"
Bespectacled student: "Well, I guess... If everyone was turned into monsters, that'd be okay. If everyone's becoming a creature, why should I worry about becoming one!? Ahaha, it'll just be like we're evolving into another species!"Ah, hell. I don't think these guys realize that what they saw might actually happen at the end of the year... or maybe they do, and they just don't care? Jesus, man... I know we still have a week or two left until the fog takes over and that I want to be crazy prepared when we go fight Adachi, but hearing all this stuff makes me want to go into the TV right now and try to stop it before it is too late... ... December 22. That is a week from now, and that is when we will put a stop to this chaos. We are going to do it before Christmas, and we will not fail. For the sake of everything and everyone in this town, we will not fail. Until then, we'll go on about our daily lives in as normal a way as possible. All right. First, though, I need to ask Daisuke about the type of girls he likes. Let's see... Hm. I think I can expect how she is gonna react to this. Yeah, I pretty much nailed it. I suppose that helps, but... yeah. Now, Ai wants me to go ask Daisuke straight out if he has a crush on anyone. You know, man, sometimes I wonder about that myself. But no, apparently he doesn't have a crush on anyone right now. I then ask him if he has any interest in Ai. ...I guess not. Hey, wait a minute... Not only that, she looked really upset there and ran back up the steps FAST. I better go after her to see if she's okay... HOLY F***! No! Wait! Ai: "I...! I... Guys like pretty girls, don't they? I'm pretty now! And I had to work hard to become this way! But if I can't be loved, then... then what's the point!"I need to do something, and I need to do it fast... but I also have to choose my words carefully. This is a million times worse than trying to stop the end of the world. Think, Souji, think! I finally manage to stop Ai from jumping, by telling her that I will listen and help her. My god, that was close. I'm so glad she came to her senses... I think she probably would have jumped off the roof if I hadn't intervened. Ugh, I don't even want to think about that. Once Ai has calmed down a bit, she begins to tell me her story. It's not a happy one. Ai: "The boy I had a crush on even told me not to look at him, because I'd 'give him my germs'."...Jesus. Ai: "About the time I entered middle school, my family came into their money. Everyone got so jealous of us that we ran away... and moved here. I knew this was my chance to start over... It was time to show them all. I dieted, got into shape, and read every fashion and women's magazine I could get my hands on. I studied them like they were textbooks and learned all the secrets--everything from attracting guys to smiling better. But... Ahaha... Looks like it was all for nothing. I couldn't be loved unless I became pretty, and now that I am, I still can't have it. I guess I'm doomed. I'll never be loved, will I?"Holy s***. I had no idea of any of this. And here I thought Ai was just this totally shallow high school beauty queen obsessed with shopping and partying, but... man. Was I ever wrong or what? And all those times I decided not to spend time with her when she asked, all that time I was thinking she wasn't worth spending time with... so she never got the chance to open up to me at all until just recently. God, I feel like such a stupid asshole right now. I'm honestly ashamed of myself. Yes, she does. I can see that. It took a while, but I can see that now. Daisuke, however, doesn't, because Ai never shows her true self to others unless she really trusts them. I'll make sure to yell at him later, maybe he'll come around. No, it's okay. I think this would be a good time to stay silent for a couple of seconds. Ai is a nice girl once you get to know her, but even if I didn't have a girlfriend already I would say no to her on this occasion. I can tell the poor girl is still reeling from what just happened moments ago and doesn't really mean what she is saying, so right now I would tell her no in any case. Thank you, I am. As I thought. She just needs time and she will be all right, I'm sure of that. I still feel terrible for the way I've treated her in the past, but at least I was able to help her today. But if we fail to stop the fog, it'll all be for nothing... No. We won't fail. I decide to tutor Shu in the evening. He tells me about how his class was trying to figure out what to do for this fair and how the girls were being noisy... didn't he join in? Why? Oh. This kid is seriously in dire need of a professional therapist... and his mom should just shut the hell up before the poor guy goes off and hangs himself or something. Well, at first, yeah... but that's not the only reason any more. This kid doesn't seem to have many friends at school and his mother is a horrible soul-eating demon, and I think it might do him good if he had SOMEONE to talk about stuff with. Shu seems to be thinking the same thing and says he's always looking forward to when I come tutor him. That's good. --- Friday, December 16Rise says she is glad she met me (that feeling is mutual) and that we're going to take down Adachi together. Of course. That's the plan. Oh, good, then we have nothing to worry about even though the town is about to become the Japanese version of Silent Hill. Sure thing. I hang out with Ai after school and go shopping with her. She seems to be okay now, thankfully. --- Saturday, December 17Hell. That is where this town is still heading. ...I'm not even going to say it any more. After school I head to the shrine where I pray for Ai. I really want her to be happy for what just might be the first time in her life. In the evening, it's time to meet Shu again. He says he wants to be a genius, but unlike his mother I just tell him that he needs to work hard for that to happen. Sure. He suggests we change the subject, and I think this might be a good opportunity to teach him about real life. Yeah, this is gonna work. Apparently, it did. --- Sunday, December 18I take the letters I got from Daidara back to Mrs. Kuroda, and she is very happy to see them again. However, for some reason, she wants to burn them. I know I shouldn't read other people's letters, but since she is going to burn them I don't think Mrs. Kuroda will mind if I take a look at a couple of them. These... are really sweet, actually. I wish she would just keep them. Eh? Mrs. Kuroda tells me exactly what happened with her husband. Apparently, his illness worsened to the point where he could no longer recognize her, and this obviously caused great pain to her. She tried to do what!? However, she couldn't do it. Damn. This is really depressing. I tell her it must have been tough, but actually she was relieved when her husband died because that meant it was over for both of them. But since she wanted her husband to die, she "became Death". She tells me to throw the letters away, as she feels can't look at them any more. I suppose I could take them back to Daidara, then. A bit of a shame, though. --- Monday, December 19I hope Chie is right. I'm not sure why exactly she has that feeling, but we have to believe she is right. Okay? Hm. Looks like these letters were written by Mrs. Kuroda. If I ever see her again, I'll show them to her. --- Tuesday, December 20That's the spirit. Hey, wait a second here... Uh, yeah. I really don't mean to sound like a douche, but all of those kind of apply to me, don't they? Well, okay, I don't know about the part about being good-looking and your mileage may vary when it comes to me being fun to talk to, but I've done pretty well for myself in any case. But it's true! I think! Maybe later. Shu: "In this dream, I'm on a train. It keeps speeding up, but I don't know where the tracks lead. There are no exits, so I can't get out, but there's someone coming from the car behind me. I can hear the doors opening and the footsteps... I don't know who it is, and I get scared... Every time I have that dream, the person gets one car closer to me."Looks like something is bothering the guy. I wonder what that is? Liar. Still, he doesn't seem to want to talk about it because he doesn't want to be "hated" by me. Why would I hate him? If I'm still alive at this time next week and we all haven't turned to Shadows or gotten devoured, sure. --- Wednesday, December 21I don't think he's referring to my riddle brother Funky Student here... Are we sure about that? When did we figure this out and why haven't I been informed? Hell yes. Tomorrow is the day, get prepared. Of course. Ai seems to be more cheerful than usual, which is nice to see. The end of the world, that is. Um... NO, it's not wonderful! Jesus! What's gotten into everyone? Oh yeah, the fog... I really don't mind. No, I'm not. If I were a nice guy, I would have spent more time with her earlier. Ai: "Why do I go on such crazy shopping sprees? Why do I feel the need to be so well dressed all the time? What makes me want to ditch class? Do I want to stand out so that I'll catch people's eyes? And... why do I always find myself wanting to talk to you?"Um... Ai: "But lately I've been thinking, maybe I'm wrong. There's still a lot I don't know... I guess I shouldn't be jumping to any conclusions. And before I realized it, I was crying. I've always made sure not to cry, too, because it makes my eyes swell..."She then wonders why that was... I think I might have an idea. In any case, I tell her we are friends. That's what we are, right? I'm honored. Thank you, I am. Still. That's not a bad thing, is it? I can now feel she genuinely trusts me. I hope things will work out between her and Daisuke as well... and that we'll all be able to see that happen. Because tomorrow... tomorrow is the day. Tomorrow, we will prevent the end of the world as we know it. No pressure or anything, just business as usual... why yes, of course I am scared s***less. I'm probably gonna have some really f***ed up dreams tonight... WHAT IN THE... I think I have issues of some sort... --- Next time: Wake up, go to school, save the world?
(By the way, that last picture isn't actually my cap from the game, I took that particular snapshot from Giant Bomb's endurance run where that dream happened much earlier in the game. The reason I took it and put it here was that it NEVER happened to me on this playthrough, even though I saw it several times on my previous ones. And let's face it, that is just too awesome to leave out completely. Seriously, LUCHADOR MASKS!!)

As I mentioned at the end of the last update, I started watching the infamous Persona 4 Endurance Run at Giant Bomb (well, rewatching, I think I made it to 25 episodes the last time I tried)... and holy crap, is that stuff painful to watch or what? Sure, it's really funny and their commentary is great, but every time I see them ignore all the boost and debuff spells I almost end up screaming "USE THE DEBUFFS ON THE BOSSES, YOU MORONS!" at the computer screen. Part 28 where Vinny and Jeff fight the Contrarian King is great, they somehow manage to do everything wrong in that battle. I was actually counting the seconds to Rampage and total party kill at first, but the fight actually took forever because the boss didn't use Rampage until much, much later. I'm not bashing them for not knowing what they were doing (we've all been there, right?) but still... one of them had apparently played Persona 3 before, so you'd think they'd have known already just how important debuffs are in these games. (Then again, I think I made it through Persona 3 myself without using those too much... it wasn't until I started playing Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne when I realized that those skills are your best friends in this series) Oh well, maybe they learned their lesson at some point during the endurance run... time to watch the next episode, I guess. And yes, this LP will be updated in a bit.

Part 135: Adachi is so screwed right now--- Thursday, December 22Whaaa? This is ridiculous. It really seems like these people are no longer caring at all and that they're actually looking forward to the end of the world. Is this what Adachi meant when he said only we would be satisfied with the truth? I don't care one way or another, though, I have had enough of this town going to s***. Whether or not the general public want it, we are going to save the town and lift the fog, and it will happen today. ...I hope... I would love to hang out with Ai, but today I have things to do. If I ever come back and we're all still human and don't have tentacles or anything unnatural like that, I'll be there to help Ai to the best of my abilities. To her credit, she doesn't believe any of this stuff about the world ending and Inaba being overrun by monsters. Yeah... no one cares about anything any more. This nonsense is going to end. Now. Hell YES we will go apprehend Adachi. This is it, my friends. But let's not think too much about what is at stake, we'll just do our job as well as possible and come home. Just like always. Right? First of all, we need the strongest Personas we can possibly get. Such as this legendary hero of the Heian period, one of the ultimate badasses in Japanese history. With someone like him on our side, Adachi will not stand a chance. Whoa. Superfly Jimmy Snuka has really let himself go. We will. Let's do this. Yukiko, Chie and Naoto will come with me. Much like Sraosha, Yoshi Tsune (sorry, I know his name doesn't have a space in it but... you know, silly swear word filters that don't understand Japanese names) specializes in something we can all get behind... that is, beating the F*** OUT OF EVERYTHING that is not immune to physical attacks by whacking everything that looks like a Shadow with his sword. With him on the team, getting to Adachi should be a piece of cake. Sure, summoning him to do all this stuff can get pretty tiring, but that's what we have healing magic for. Ohh yeah. Speaking of healing magic. Now, Yukiko can cure any ailments along with everyone's health. I actually decided to go all the way from Magatsu Inaba to where we left off (Magatsu Mandala World 5, I think) because beating up more Shadows on the way will make us stronger and we have guys like Yoshi and Masakado taking care of most of them... and so, we actually run into Yosuke and Kanji on one of the floors. They give us some food, which is pretty nice of them. When physical attacks won't do, we have Personas to take care of those situations as well. Here's Baal Zebul dropping a f***ing glacier on top of some Shadows. Word. Teddie gives me a Chewing Soul... hm, has he been hanging out with Funky Student lately? Surt fries some... things all the way to Valhalla with his fire spells. And now Chie's Suzuka Gongen has learnt to drop FREAKING METEORS on our foes, such as these ill-fated Lustful Snakes here. You know, Chie really scares me sometimes... And then there is my main man Yoshi, slicing up another one of these random mechs with his sword. (No, your eyes are not deceiving you, he actually is doing 4,000+ damage with a single charged-up Brave Blade. These mechs have the worst defense ever, meaning that all your attacks do a ton of damage to them)ALL RIGHT. (Relaxing Wave automatically gives the whole party some SP back after each battle, meaning that we will pretty much never run out of SP again when exploring.)We could carry on like this, but I decide to drop by the Velvet Room once more. Maybe I can fuse some more scantily-clad goddesses of love or badass swordsmen or... ...I think I need to lie down for a while. NOTE: Before I even thought about posting those two screenshots, I asked a mod via PM if it's okay to show the prince of freaking darkness essentially becoming your Pokémon and fighting for you. Apparently, it's all right to show and mention him (and other similarly themed Personas such as Beelzebub) when he is a character in a video game.Right... let's get back to it, then. I'm trying hard not to think about what I just fused in the Velvet Room. Anyway, The sixth floor of Magatsu Mandala is shaped like a spiral, and Rise detects something in the center. That's where we're going, maybe there's something that lets us enter Adachi's lair. We run into a whole bunch of Shadows on the way, of course. Ishtar does a little dance and blasts these guys with lightning. This guy is at the center of the area. Hey, he's cosplaying as the Tokyo Tower! He likes to spam Megidolaon a lot. Usually, that would be rather painful, but we're so strong right now thanks to our Personas that his spells barely hurt us. He lasts about 30 seconds. Something like this isn't going to stop us at this point. All right! Now we're talking! One more visit to the Velvet Room, and Adachi is going down. Time for another... interesting fusion. I think it might be safe to say at this point that Adachi is SCREWED. I hope he was watching when we beat up that big Shadow at Magatsu Mandala #6, because if he did he probably knows he has no chance whatsoever against us. Of course, we shouldn't celebrate quite yet, because we still don't know exactly what Adachi is capable of in this world and if stopping him will prevent Inaba from suffering a horrible fate. Back to Magatsu Inaba. The door that was previously sealed is now open, as we hoped it would be. I'm pretty sure that portal leads to where Adachi is. We're actually rather overleveled for the upcoming fight (that's the Musashi Shinai at work), but of course it's better to be overleveled than underleveled. All right. We are almost there. Let's finish this once and for all. ---

HOOOOOLY crap. Beelzebub, Satan, Yoshi Sune (filters, of course), Trumpeter.....
Adachi is so seriously screwed.
(Actually, working on my second run through. Given that you can keep all your stats and whatnot, it's ridiculously easy to make money. I'm already up to about 100,000 yen after a month and a half.)

(Actually, working on my second run through. Given that you can keep all your stats and whatnot, it's ridiculously easy to make money. I'm already up to about 100,000 yen after a month and a half.) I really don't like how you can only battle the two bonus bosses on a New Game+, since that means I can't properly show them off in this thread unless I play through the entire game again. I guess I could post other people's Youtube clips of them later... Also, I'm kind of sorry about not finishing Ai's, Mrs. Kuroda's and Shu's social links on this run. That can be a bit tough on a regular playthrough, especially since the party members were always the priority. I've never actually managed to max out Ai's link because I've been too busy doing other stuff, I'm pretty sure level 7 is the highest I've ever gotten it (sure, I COULD have got it up to 8 here if I had decided to hang out with her on Dec 22, but... well, it wouldn't have been worth it.) Still, I feel I did pretty well overall with the Social Links, I believe I maxed out 15 or 16 of them this time and the only ones that weren't at least lvl 7 were Naoki Konishi (Hanged Man) and Eri Minami (Temperance). But enough about that. In the next update (which will probably appear by tomorrow morning), we're fighting Adachi with our very overleveled party (I don't know how I ended up getting that many levels for Seta and the ladies... I guess I just was more aggressive fighting the Shadows this time, and I got the Musashi Shinai quite early... in any case, we're like seven or eight levels higher than necessary at this point). What kind of surprises does Adachi have in store for us, and just how long is that unskippable cutscene before the fight? And will I somehow manage to screw up in some way that would make even Giant Bomb's Vinny & Jeff point and laugh? Find out on the next (and, unless I suddenly get a huge number of comments, final) page of Let's Play Persona 4: The Thread!
