Something that's bugged me for a while but keep forgetting to post.
For at least 6 months now, nobody at the announce table has bothered to refer to any divas' finishers by name.
Aside from Mickie and Beth, no divas even seem to have finishers. Beth hasn't hit her finisher in the last 13 years or so, and if we're lucky, we get Lawler saying "Mickie just hit...that kick!" McRibs' finisher just seems to be a front kick to the chest, which, if we're lucky, is put over by JR as "Ooo! What a...shot!"
I'm puzzled as to why the company doesn't put over divas' finishers. I suspect it's because the company wants to de-emphasize the women as wrestlers and play them up as "characters" inside the ring, but I'm not sure.
Do you feel having WWE women with clearly-identified finishers that the announcers put over as being deadly would help the product, or do you think things are fine now?

It wouldn't hurt to have names and I'd like it, but I also don't care, if that makes sense.

Not entirely true.
Kelly has the K2, they have called it before. Gail Kim has that jawbreaker thing with her foot, that has the stupid name of Eat Defeat...and I know they called it at least once because I laughed at how stupid the name was.
Melina has the legdrop split thing, and that Code Red move. I cant remember if they have called either move by any names though. Maryse has the Snap DDT they call the French Kiss.
On SD, Nattie, when she wrestles has the Sharpshooter of course. Beth has the Glam Slam. McCool has the Faith Breaker. All of those moves have been established and called many times. Mickie has her sloppy DDT...I am not sure why its never called by its name, but it has a stupid name anyway so who cares.
Pretty much the only women who dont really have named or established finishers are the Marias and Laylas who are jobbers anyway.

They pretty much all have names for their finishers and the divas tell fans this in their blogs or twitters or whatever else. However, while the announcers will mention the name the first time then it's really 50/50 on whether they will bother to announce it in later matches or just say "what impact!" or something equally lame.
Layla has a neckbreaker she calls "The Layout" and has used it several times on TV (she even pinned then Women's champion Melina with it) but it has only ever been called a neckbreaker.

No-one ever calls Mickie's DDT the Mickie-DT.

On SD, Nattie, when she wrestles has the Sharpshooter of course. When was the last time she used it, btw? She seems to be winning her matches with her clothesline thing more often than not now

Just part of how commentary has gone down the pan in recent years with the calling of wrestling moves being virtually flung out the door. Michael Cole being the worst offender, but I'd imagine with Vince yelling in the headsets, JR and Grisham have been under pressure to do it as well. Only place that seems to escape is ECW.

Crossreferencing wikipedia and my current EWR game, here's a list of Diva finishers:
Alica Fox: Axe Kick Gail Kim: Eat Defeat (ugh) Jillian: High Note (450 Splash which she never gets to use) Kelly Kelly: K2 (mocified Fameasser) Maryse: French Kiss (snap DDT) Melina: Primal Scream (that split-legdrop reverse DDT thing)
Beth Phoenix: Glam Slam Layla: Layout (neckbreaker) Maria: Marialistic/Beautiful Bulldog (Running Bulldog (Trish's old finisher)) Michelle McCool: Faith Breaker, MADT (Make a Diva Tap) Mickie James: Mickie-DT, Long Kiss Goodnight (her roundhouse kick is still called that despite dropping the "kiss" part) Natalya Neidhart: Sharpshooter
Katie Lea: Kat Nip (inverted neckbreaker which like Jillian she never gets to use)
The Bellas and Rosa are the only ones who don't have a defined finisher.

Looking at the names, I can see why the announcers don't use them. They're generally horrible.

Goes to show you how lazy WWE announcing is, unless it's Matt Striker.

-I thought it was the "Mickie-T", I don't recall the extra "D" being involved in the name. (They got the idea from Steve Richards, whose finisher was the "Stevie-T".) -Nattie's spinning clothesline I remember once being called the "Hart-breaker".
I don't see why were digging so deep for finisher names, because it seems like every other Divas match is won with a roll-up.
