Kurt, you are moments away from facing Brutus Magnus again for the WCTNA World Heavyweight Championship. He already holds one victory over you, what are your thoughts heading into tonight's match?
Val, I'm about to do something I hardly ever do and that's admit I was wrong. Last month I went into Hard Justice thinking it would be a piece of cake and that I would be world champion again within five minutes. Instead I got hit with the Tormentum and pinned in the middle of that ring, one, two, three. I couldn't tell you how many times I've watched the tape since but the one thing that remains clear in my mind is that I should have won that match and I should be the one defending the belt tonight.
You don't get many second chances in life but I'll be damned if I let Brutus Magnus beat again. This time I know exactly what I'm getting in to and there will be no excuses if I lose. That's why I went to Dr. Stevie a few hours earlier and he make it real simple. You win, I don't get another shot at the belt until you lose it but if I win, when I win, you don't get a title rematch until I'm no longer the champ and I plan on that being a very long time.
You want to come out here, bring up my past, the things I've done. Fine by me, that just makes me want it even more. By no means am I defending the things I've done and I can't make any promise about whether I'll do it again or not but at the end of the day, I couldn't care about any of these fans who are meant to look up to me. I couldn't care about representing America. You know what smart men do during times like this? They invest in gold and I do the exact same thing tonight.
Brutus, any other time and I would be begging you to prove me wrong but I'm going all in so I won't say I respect you, I won't shake your hand regardless of the outcome, I won't say I respect you because if you were a true champion, you would already know if I did or not. Half a year of hard work comes to end for you tonight but I need you to show me it wasn't worthless. You're going down but I want to get sight of the fires of hell when I send you there. Don't take it easy on me.
I'd love to look ahead to Bound for Glory, a stage I've already main evented but we all know what happened the last time I looked ahead. At Hard Justice, Brutus, you stepped into the ring against a shell of a man. Tonight, you face the best in the world today and he's going to have the belt to prove it at the end. The show is called No Surrender so I expect you'll be walking around on crutches the next few days after I break your ankle tonight. Do not tap out to me. If I have become worthy of being world champion again, you'll pass out due to the pain and that's true. It's damn true!
