I jsut noticed that there really isnt really any finishers in the WWE i mark for nowadays..in the past i used 2 mark out for the F5..matt morgans suplex/rock bottom combo..it seems most eras have finishers thatstand out but this one doesn't have anything.
My case in point is if you look at the current superstars who wwe sees as their future stars..and look at their finisher you have...carlito = backcracker...jonny nitro = enziguri..chris masters...full nelson..Kenny = legdrop off ropes. Now these moves may look cool in the norm but as a main event finisher....it doesn't mix..
When stone cold was facing the rock at wrestle mania..it was the stunner vs the rock bottom...angle vs lesnar...f5 vs ankle lock....but i cnt possibly imagine years down the line a wrestlemania main event with backcracker vs enziguri.
Thes just SO many finishers out there i dont know why they dnt use more moves..im not even talking about breaking safe style...why cdnt some1 use a version of..the fame-asser..falcon arrow..widow maker....insead of giving every one either the roll of the dice or overdrive!
Does anyone else notice this?

I think that there are cool finishers, but they primarily belong to the veterans and not the new guys. Moves like the Pedigree and stuff are considered to be devastating.
According to WWE magazine, the F-U is considered the SICKEST FINISHER OF ALL TIME!!!!!!! ;D

Enzuiguri? Used as a finisher? Change that to "Corkscrew Moonsault," and you'll have the correct one. Not to be nitpicky. Anyway, I see the point that your trying to get across. There's a lot of spectacular finishers that these wrestlers simply do not do. Like the backcracker or the masterlock. Those are terrible finishers, and it wouldn't be very hard for Masters and Carlito to replace their respective moves with something flashier/more powerful looking. And good finishers add to the match. So yes, you make a valid point here.

When the DDT became a transitional move, finishers died.

The RKO I have always liked as a finisher - although in a way it is just a souped up version of the stunner. However - the finish in the Orton v Carlito match at Unforgiven proved why it is such a good finisher. Just need to ease up on them there chinlocks and you could be great mr orton.
WM23 - RKO vs STFU.....mmmm. Maybe you have a point. However the Tombstone v Batistabomb if it happens had BETTER go the right way or else there'll be trouble in Greenwich.
Dont forget there have been some pretty original finishers of late - Burchill's C4 springs to mind.

i actually dotn think the FU is a bad finisher..in fact its one of the best id say...i mean all trademarks are there..he can lift them up out of nowhere..he can do it on mostly anyone..when he hits it your on either thinking its over or on the edge of your seat hopin the other guy kicks out...its a nice move with impact..i think 2 many people rag on the FU of old..where it was a firemans carry..since joining raw he jumps and slams them which looks cool.

He still does it in slo-mo though. And an underpowered fireman carry slam on your back, you can get up from quickly. It doesn't look legit enough when compared to other finishers.

Someone needs to bring back the overdrive, right guys? Right guys? Okay, that finisher sucks the big one.

i do agree with the slow mo comment..i hate it when guys get some1 in a finisher and pose for about 10 secs b4 hitting it...case in point john cena as you sed..and sting b4 the deathlock...it really bugs me because i always assume the other guy could find away 2 get out of it rather than flail about like a fish out of water..

my theory: roll-ups
you really don't need one anyymore as that's how much of the matches end anyway

I think the back-cracker is pretty damn innovative.

How much did the safe style affect this?

I think the back-cracker is pretty damn innovative. Thank you, Alex Shelley...or some Japanese or Lucha star. About Johnny Nitro, if his current finisher is a corkscrew moonsault (and a pretty one at that), that won't really get him in any serious future WWE main events. It's not often you've someone in the 'E pull it off as their finisher in the main event. Unless ol' Johnny boy is going to break that wall down. So, since he's already doing it, he and Shawn could have a feud over the super kick, and thus, new finisher that'd be less trouble for his knees and all involved.

I think the back-cracker is pretty damn innovative. I like it, but it lacks that finisher look to it. And it doesn't hurt enough to be a logical finisher. But it'd be great as a signature move.

There are good finishers, but no one sells them as such. Back in the day, the DDT would knock you unconscious, and in reality, it should. If someone pulls you down head first into the ground, it would normally knock you out. But nowadays its sold like a punch, and not nearly as deadly. When you look at what used to be a finisher, things like the DDT, Fisherman's Suplex, a Splash, or a Leg Drop, it makes matches these days look like nothing but a series of finishers.

The Pedigree, Tombstone Piledriver, Shining Wizard (only because it looks so stiff), Booker's Sisscors (I'm tired of spelling) Kick, RKO, Double-hook DDT, Spear, Dominator, Cobra Clutch Backbreaker..
There are more, but my point is, there are still a LOT of good finishers.

Clearly, WWE needs a healthy dose of THE GARVIN STOMP.
