When you were a mark, which wrestlers did you still not like because of reasons that the smarks didn't like them?
I'd say Cena's begginings as a face, when he was still using basic thuganomics as his music (Yes, I was a still a mark then). I would watch him get huge pops, and just not get it. He annoyed the hug out of me, mostly because he looked like a jackass and his fanbase was annoying I'd say that's where my smarkdom began.

Triple H consistently bored the holy hell out of me & I'm sure he still would today.

Hogan once the late 90s rolled around. By 98-99 I was really tiring of the guy and his lame matches.

When I was a mark, the smark population was almost a decade away from meeting its beloved Internet.
The closest I could get was not marking for a guy I'm pretty sure smarks would have loved had they been around. That man...Tito Santana. He probably would've been the Val Venis of the day.

Heh...as a mark I was pretty much the anti-smark. I loved Yokozuna, Warrior, Sid Justice, and others as a kid. I also hated Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. But I did despise Lex Luger because I thought his matches were slow and boring...so I guess that's it.

The moment Shawn Michaels turned babyface, I hated him. The crowd loved him and I hated them even more for it. And I REALLY hated the way Vince would perform commentary felatio on him every time he came out. I generally liked all of the guys the WWF made their top babyface prior to that. Even Lex was OK. But I wanted Shawn to stop stripping, and I wanted the men in the audience to stop cheering for it. That's pretty much where my days as a mark ended.

As a kid watching WCW I hated Goldberg and Hogan. Even when I was younger I really didn't care about who was face and who was heel. I had my favorites and I stuck to my guns.

Lex Luger for being so slow and boring, as someone already said. I hated how everybody at my school thought he was the awesomest wrestler of all time just for bodyslamming Yokozuna. Of course by then, I had already come to the smarky realization that "they weren't really fighting."

Hogan - I especially hated picking him for video games because his moveset was atrocious.
Sid - I remember really beginning to hate WCW once he came back in 1999 and started to get the big push.

The Rock. I actually grew to appreciate him more as a smark than as a mark.
And I've always loved Benoit since day one. I was kind of a smark from the start, really, except for my mark-like hatred of Edge & Christian (man, the combination of promo ability and booking was GOLDEN for those two!).

I don't 100% understand the question but I'll try getting to it. I think it's Matt Hardy around the cheating incident. A lot of people in my forum thought Matt was just being childish and immature so I agreed when I was still a mark.
But I dropped that whole predicament and learned to appreciate Matt Hardy as a worker. I learned a valuable lesson... Never let a wrestler's personal life get in the way for your feelings towards a wrestler's character.

Dusty Rhodes in the NWA: The originator of the Five Moves Of Doom.
Punch. Bionic Elbow. Punch in the 'nads. Elbow Drop. Figure Four.
Oh sure, he could talk...if you could understand half the crap he was saying. I marked for Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson because they wrestled rings around that fat slob.
