Almost every wrestler has made a heel turn at some point, but are there any that you felt were just wrong or crossed a line of some sort?
Reading the Tatanka thread and how it was mentioned he turned on Jay Strongbow at one point some time after an emotional ceremony on Raw, seemed really wrong. I know it's just a wrestling show, but still.
Were there any heel turn angles that you thought were a bit too much, or at the very least you really felt like Michael Cole and wanted to yell "Not this way!"?

Off the top of my head: Stephanie McMahon turning against her father and joining up with HHH in the Attitude Era. Pretty sick.

Rikishi turning heel and beating up Stone Cold because "he did it for the Rock". Lame and without logic.

Stone Cold's heel turn against Rock at WrestleMania 17. In the feud leading up to the match, it was like the crowd just couldn't wait for the Rock to turn heel. Then they went with Austin instead which, yeah I guess was more surprising but I'm not sure it was better.

Every one of Matt Hardy's turns against Jeff. I guess it wasn't the turn that was wrong- because "jealous of the younger brother's success- is a justified heel turn... it's just they've all ended with Matt basically shrugging his shoulders to signify an apology, and Jeff accepting with no qualms. It's like a roller coaster that goes up and up and up... then levels off and you get off, and have to walk down a flight of stairs to exit.

I know that heel Jim Ross isn't exactly a popular subject around here, but personally, I loved this angle. This just felt so real. Jim Ross as a heel was a very layered character, the likes of which we seldom see today. You felt sorry for him, but at the same time saw him as a bitter jerk. Jim Ross did an amazing job in this storyline and I would have liked to see it explored a little further.

Alex Shelley joining the Embassy in 2005 ROH.
Don't get me wrong, it lead to the fantastic team-up of Shelley and Jimmy Rave, as well as some great matches against Generation Next, but it always got to me how Shelley was primed to become possibly the most over face in the company, if we go by live crowd reactions, chasing after the heel champion who had betrayed him (Aries), a heel champion who didn't to much to signify a face turn...yet it was Shelley who turned heel.
I was always hoping for the eventual huge blowoff match of the feud between a face Shelley and a heel Aries, but outside of their one title match at Manhattan Mayhem, it never really materialized.

Poor timing to have it done in his backyard against a guy that the fans were slowly starting to turn against.

Hassan.
The guy's whole gimmick is that he's tired of discrimination and sterotypes. Dammit, an angle like that could have been huge!

Sting in the later days of WCW.
He turned heel it lasted a couple of months & then went back to being a face like it never happened.

Hassan. The guy's whole gimmick is that he's tired of discrimination and sterotypes. Dammit, an angle like that could have been huge! Hassan was always a heel so you can't say he turned. That angle would have been impossible. If he acted like a face and helped faces then it's just as likely he'd have been cheered as booed. So then he has nothing to complain about.

Kurt Angle joining the Alliance in 2001. He was CRAZY over and it was so soon after 9/11/01, which just got the crowd behind him even more. The heel turn was a stupid, stupid idea.

Was this really a heel turn though? I mean, who would ever take Cole's side over JR's? The crowd reaction speaks for itself.

It was one of the stupidest moves WWE ever pulled. Angle was so insanely over, and positioned to be THE superstar of WWE and they turned him heel for absolutely no reason whatsoever. It was asinine

Poor timing to have it done in his backyard against a guy that the fans were slowly starting to turn against. I think what really hurt Austin's heel turn wasn't the turn itself(though you brought up a good point), but what they did with it thereafter. In the beginning he was cold and calculated, but after his partner Triple H was injured, he became a comedian and didn't seem like a heel at all. I mean, singing "kombayah" and giving Vince Mcmahon, his former rival, hugs? It was funny, don't get me wrong, but it didn't make sense to do what he did. And not to mention HOW he turned back face. Kurt Angle, who supposedly just turned heel, was the mole for The Alliance, then at the Survivor Series they have a winner take all match, and he attacks Austin, suggesting a face turn, SAVING THE WWF FROM EXTINCTION, and the next night ANGLE turns heel, while Austin, the man who was about to destroy the company becomes face for what reason? Hell, even the fans cheered Angle on for doing that heroic task, and even BROUGHT SIGNS CONGRATULATING HIM. I tell you, out of all times WWF/E forget what happens somehow remembered Angle bashing the WWF guys in the head with chairs and such, and they expect the fans to boo him? That's part of why the Invasion Angle and Austin's heel run were such clusterf***s, cause they couldn't keep continuity straight.
