Yea i miss the Lawler that was always on Vince's side and would always disagree with JR no matter what, like at fully loaded 99 when Vince turns round and see's the picture of himself bleeding, then Lawler just says "who the hell put that up there?? was it YOU JR?? it was, wasn't it??". YES! That was an awesome moment. That and Lawler sniping at JR for JR's comment about Vince having 10 lawyers and how he'd fire someone for sneezing during a board meeting. "Well, it's HIS meeting! They're interrupting him!" I miss the real Lawler. This bullshit sham they have in the Burger King crown ... it's like listening to a cat being beaten with a barbed wire 2x4 on a piece of sheet metal. He's THAT annoying. Jed Shaffer ~And yet, somehow, still light years better then Mark Madden.

Is it me or does he ALWAYS agree with the faces and stick up for JR during commentary? It's not you. He's too old to be a believable heel. JBL could still f*** you up if you talked smack to him (heel announcer) Heyman had back up to whip your ass if need be (heel announcer) Jerry Lawler gets choked out and masterlocked (PUPPIES! announcer)

Part of this reposted from elsewhere:
The tiring "PUPPIES!" crap aside, Heel Lawler will always be one of the great heel commentators. His goading, slimy persona could make you hate his guts or just crack you up in retrospect- the guy was so hilariously over-the-top when he rooted for the heels. Next to J.R. in his prime, they were the most solid color commentating team the WWF could ask for.
Face Lawler, on the other hand, is utter anathema. Everything he says these days is infuriating. However, in particular, I've really got to single out his willingness to verbally fellate Ric Flair. Face or heel, Flair can do NO wrong to him. The worst example of this was a RAW where Jericho and Randy Orton were taking on Flair and Batista. It was right after Jimmy Kimmel gave Orton an interview on his show a couple years ago, and made fun of Flair's age (Orton had a PPV match with him coming up). And Lawler WOULD NOT SHUT UP ABOUT IT. He spent more time bashing Jimmy Kimmel than he did calling the friggin' match.
Hell, that was before he completely turned face and suddenly decided John Cena was the guy to cheer. He screams "THE CHAMP...IS HEEEEERE!" like a throng of scantily-clad high school girls just paraded into his house. Cough, cough.
And oh, man, I know he probably didn't write those questions, but that interview with Sylvester Stallone? BRUTALITY. Reciting that kind of "play"ory pablum is bad enough, but the tone Lawler said it in was such...I don't know, sucralose, that it was just a nightmare to listen to.
He's a sugary, empty parody of his former self. It's a heartbreaker after listening to him from '96-'00.

Actually what I really miss is "No Lawler". I really liked Jim Ross and Heyman commentating on Raw. QFT. The commentary for the better part of 2001 with Ross and Heyman was the best RAW had and still has been called in years.
