If we didn't have these three guys, who generally take up half of the regular RAW broadcast with matches, filler and skits ... what would RAW look like?
I think a lot of midcarders like Val Venis, Rob Conway, Chris Masters, Super Crazy, and, well, pretty much everyone not named 'Carlito' and 'Johnny Nitro' would have enough television time to have decent matches and, well, give people a reason to give a damn about them.
... that sounds pretty good to me.
Of course, these guys don't make 'the big bucks', but for God's sake, Michaels and Hunter aren't going to be around forever.

with the current Cena/Umaga feud going, I sometimes forget he's even on the show, he's taken the backseat to DX for now

Reminds me of a thought that I had recently...
What if Cena or one of the members of DX suffered a legit injury that caused them to be off the road for a few months... How would that RAW work?

It would get low ratings. No DX or Cena means a bunch of kids (and women) tuning out.

A raw without cena and dx would give nothing for anyone to complain about and if no umaga was there.. it's over

It would probably be like the early Monday Night Raw's from '93-'95. Very low key I could imagine. I actually wouldn't mind seeing that again.

In real life, all those midcarders who get the "Conway/Haas Pop" would not draw a dime. RAW would be rated lower than ever, and the vast majority of fans would tune out. In real life, people like Cena and DX keep the WWE turnin', while guys the IWC loves like Conway, Haas, Shelton, etc will never main event because they, well, how do I put this? In terms of drawing power and being the total package (no Luger jokes allowed), they well...they suck.

It'd be nice to see the current upper mid-carders become top stars. They have the skill, and the thing is, they're all quite young. Many of them are under thirty years of age. Without DX and Cena to popularity-wise upstage them, they WOULD become top stars. Give the people someone to get behind/hate, and if there isn't anyone else at the top of the card to hamper them, you'll see it happen.

The way I see it is, Raw can still continue to have D-X and Cena on the show, as they are the main draw for a lot of people, but if Carlito of all people has a steady position within the show, all while bringing nothing to the table, there's always room for a Crazy, Conway or Val who can actually entertain the masses for the short amount of time they're allowed.

Since when has Val Venis been a midcarder? Since Rob Conway became Undisputed champ and Triple H started jobbing to Scotty 2 Hotty and other HEAT and Velocity veterans. Where have you been as of late?

Raw without Cena...sounds great to me ;D No more idiotic salutes, boring matches, ass ugly spinner belts, and retarded promos talking about gays and poop. Makes me miss the pre-Cena days on Raw If there were no Cena stinking up the ring they could focus on more deserving people and it probably wouldn't effect them much rating wise at all really.

It would be like in the NFL and MLB when they hired replacement players during their respective player strikes.

As much as we don't like it, DX and Cena are the draws on RAW. They are the big money guys, the ones that the fans pay to see. Nobody is rushing to their local arena on a Monday night to see Rob Conway or Val Venis. Nobody is hurrying over to WWEShopZone.com to see when that new Charlie Haas or Viscera t-shirt is coming.
It's like this: what would the WWF be like during the Attitude Era if one day The Corporation and Stone Cold just decided to take a few weeks off? Yeah, we'd get more "wrestling", but the ratings would plummet and the PPV buyrates would sink.
Its just like ECW. As much as we do not like it, its making money, so its going to stick around for awhile.

A Raw without Cena or DX? It'd make me start watching the show again.
