I'm (clearly) an HBK mark whether he's heel or face but I loved him as a heel. Especially against Hogan; the Larry Bling promo was gold. Also, the promo against Bret Hart when the DX name was born:
"I've beaten YOU, I've beaten your BROTHER, I've beaten BOTH your brother's-in-law, and I'll go and beat up your whole FAMILY if you get in my face one more time". Genius.
I thought they might have teased a possible HBK heel turn in the first DX/Rated RK(enny)O match when Shawn started strangling Kenny with his own headband and concealed his actions from the ref with his arm. The intensity of those few moments got a huge pop from me. He seems to be having fun as a goofball face, though.

I prefer torso-thickened heel Michaels from 92-95. He just acted perfectly as the cocky, arrogant heel.
His DX heel run was pretty awesome too. I really wish it wasn't cut short for health issues.

He's totally one of a kind as a heel, but I've always been a fan of his much-criticised 96' face run.

he used to be a natural heel, but now he's in flair zone. Can't be a heel unless he goes after Hogan You've said it best

Much better as a heel. His heel run with DX and initial heel run after breaking up the Rockers were great.
