I think "Best Of ECW 2006" is a good enough joke on its own. Har dee har har. Such a comedian we are.

I think if ECW was built around Kevin Thorne and C.M. Punk, with appearances by the old guard, it would be about as good as it could get.
I don't want to see Tommy Dreamer, Balls and Sabu be the face of the company. They aren't going to be around forever. But Thorne and Punk are two of the best younger guys they have right now, and I want to see them put in high positions with good feuds and angles. Throne has a very neat character and look, and is more than capable of a decent match. And Punk is Punk.

Wait... RVD is a fireman? No, no, silly. RVD moonlights as a chimney sweep. *waggles eyebrows* Chim Chiminy, Chim Chiminy, Chim Chim Cheree A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be Chim Chiminy, Chim Chiminy, Chim Chim Cheroo Good luck will rub off when I shakes 'ands with you Or blow me a kiss--and that's lucky, too!

Agreed, especially since Tommy embodies the concept of letting the younger talent get over (though why he's trying to put over Daivari and Khali is beyond me. Daivari, yes, Khali, WTF)

I was pissed when I found out it was a recap show, but the "up in smoke" comment got me to drop everything and watch it. I don't know how they kept a straight face.

So Taz is funniest when he is about to get fired Wouldn't you be if you knew the end was near? Exactly. What the hell does Taz have to lose? A job that's made his legacy in the sport a walking joke? He'd be hired by TNA in less than a heartbeat. So the money/paycheck is not the issue. Credibility? He flushes that down the toilet every Tuesday night when he calls this abortion on SCIFI "ECW". So that's not an issue. And really, I wouldn't even call what he did "cutting loose". He was merely more entrtaining/relaxed/himself than he usually is.

I'm suprised no one is whining about how CM Punk's montage was too short.

pUnK's M0nTaJ3 was 2 SHIRt!!11! lol @ Punks montage. Seriously though. I agree with what the earlier poster said about building ECW around young, fresh guys. That means NOT friggin Hardcore Holly.

I'm suprised no one is whining about how CM Punk's montage was too short. He actually got a montage? I watched the first 20 mins and all I saw was RVD/Cena and Show/RVD and figured they'd pretty much stick with the world title scene this year. If I was doing a "best of ECW" for this year, the matches I'd highlight are: Kurt Angle vs Sabu RVD vs Test - EXTRREEEMMEEE Rules RVD vs Hardcore Holly - EXTRREEEMMEEE Rules CM Punk vs Justin Credible - Punk's debut

RVD should win Industrial Chimney Sweep For A Day like Homer did. That would rock. And that seems like a punishment WWE would eventually institute. The Best Of kinda depressed me (as much as wrestling tv can depress me) by focusing so much on RVD when, for all intents and purposes, it seems like they'll never push him that way ever again. Not even on this third brand nonsense. Oh well - bring on the first year OVW students!

I could have sworn after the commercial break following the "up in smoke" comment, there was also a "flying high" remark.

I swear before to long that Tazz will start spewing out:
"How much does this fella weigh?" "Oh, he's a big boy!"
