Unlike some announcers, he is consistent and his points of view on different wrestlers make sense. He says Matt Hardy could have been the next Shawn Michaels, he thinks Miz is a dumbass, he calls Tatanka Buffalo. JBL is one of the reasons Smackdown is TV that's changing Friday nights.

I agree completly, and it really bugs me when people like Dave scherer (or however you spell his name) bash him for "not doing his job" when he is negative about heels on SD. I guess Dave doesn't get that in this day and age, many people find the pure babyface and pure heel commentator roles to be boring and unrealistic. But more on topic, I doubt you'll be seeing a JBL face turn. Everyone knows he's a huge supporter of the troops, and I'm sure it was a one time thing to pop the crowd in Iraq.

They'll never turn him face, what they did Monday was to boost his patriotism.

Anybody who doubts his patriotism isn't paying attention (Nazi salute and goose-stepping not withstanding)
