Yep. Me.
Because Benoit could focus on his wrestling, with guys like Nash and Bischoff hanging around to handle the mic work. Exactly Or even better - Why not have Benoit betray the Four Horsemen @ Fall Brawl 1997? He could complain about being held back by all those ancient southerners, and now that he has the real stars, the REAL guys that have the power to influence the business, backing him up, he has insured that he will one day descend to the throne of being the very best in the business. Also, we would have gotten Benoit vs. Flair out of this, and perhaps Benoit vs. Malenko (with Malenko being pissed off at Benoit for throwing away such great opportunity in the first place), PLUS maybe Benoit could have been the nWo's henchman to immediately go after Bret Hart at the end of the year.

Everytime I visit this site, I become more convinced that wrestling fans are more creative than actual WWE writers.

Scott Hall was tops. Speaking of Hall, was he ever accused and/or proven of being one of the top backstage nuisances that Hogan, Nash, and Bischoff were? All I ever heard was about his heavily reported problems with alcohol, which as far as I know, only hurt Hall. I've never heard of Hall handling the books or keeping young talent down. Was Hall just around for the ride with Big Kev, or was he one of the bags of douche backstage that contributed to WCW's downfall?

Everytime I visit this site, I become more convinced that wrestling fans are more creative than actual WWE writers. If you're impressed with that, here's more: Around this time of the nWo that I've been discussing, there was another guy who had returned and was on FIRE. Months later, a member of the nWo would be fired. His name? Syxx - the guy who was the faction's cruiserweight representative, a guy who liked to also STEAL title belts. Whose gimmick does that kind of remind you of that would happen in WWE several years later? With Benoit already in the group, it would have been a great time in late 1997 or early 1998 to also have Eddie Guerrero join the nWo. He'd have the same feelings as Benoit, but would be willing to stoop to any low to achieve the missions that the nWo chiefs sent him out to do. Plus, with Benoit & Eddie together, they would become the nWo's representatives in the tag team division, wreaking havoc and having a very long title reign that would end up having whoever dethroned them getting a HUGE rub, and the pop being out of this world.

Problem with that last scenerio is Hall/Nash were considered the uber-tag team. Benoit/Guerrero would have been held back somehow IMO

Problem with that last scenerio is Hall/Nash were considered the uber-tag team. Benoit/Guerrero would have been held back somehow IMO By spring 1998, Hall and Nash weren't doing anything together, and if they were tag champions around that time, then I just do not remember it, which tells you all about how that division was being treated.

Survey Sez........ Something I just noticed......if you say "Survey Sez" really fast, it sounds like the spanish word "cervezas", which means beers. Funny to think that Hall may have been ordering up Coronas, on the down low, all that time.

Scott Hall was the best, Buff Bagwell was the worst, and Scott Norton was the most underused.

They used Norton all that they needed to. By the time Norton joined, it was beginning to get watered down. They should have kept it to the ex-WWF guys. Norton was a needless accesory, kind of like those little lights 14 year old girls put on thier cell phones.

Yep, the NWO should have only been former WWE employees, or at least guys who were most identifiable as ex-WWE guys.
This would have created a more natural heel group for the WCWers to rally against.
Imagine Hogan, Hall and Nash vs Flair, Sting and Luger.

Imagine Hogan, Hall and Nash vs Flair, Sting and Luger. Exactly. Then, with guys like Savage joining the NWO, you'd have guys like Goldberg and the Steiners balancing the wCw side. As it happened, the nWo became a bloated caricature, because, as Bischoff himself said, "The nWo was COOL. No one wanted to be associated with wCw. " So you had longtime wCw stalwarts The Giant and Norton and Ice Train and Konnan.....they all wanted a piece of the nWo. That's what tipped the scales from "badass" to "regoddamneddiculous" in my books.

A couple of quips with this poll:
1. No Bubba Rogers, nor Michael Wallstreet on the survey, who were in the group before Konnan, Stevie Ray, Scott Steiner, Dennis Rodman, Randy Savage and, I believe, Eric Bischoff.
2. No NWO Japan members, who were also in the group before the long list I stated above, including Muta, Chono, and Tenzan.
I vote "Other" for Chono.

But technically, wasn't the nWo around in Japan WAAAY before Bischoff swiped the idea for use in wCw?
If so, that invalidates the entire poll!

The most bizarre nWo member was VK Wallstreet.
I remember once on Nitro, Schiavone said that although Wallstreet had jumped to the nWo, he was still contracted to WCW, so therefore Wallstreet had to remain part of WCW's roster.
So Wallstreet walked out for his match wearing a black t-shirt with the word WCW crossed out.
I thought..."what's the point of that?"

Norton was a needless accesory, kind of like those little lights 14 year old girls put on thier cell phones. All I'm saying is that if you have a badass wrestler like Scott Norton in your stable, don't tag him with Marcus Bagwell and use him as jobber fodder.
