IFL Revises ScheduleSo the IFL pushed back the start date on the season to May, with a few teams starting in late April. Most of the teams will have 14 games, with two teams having 16 games.

Here's an awesomely funny moment from the FCF league:
(FCF by the way stands for "Fan Controlled Football" where fans of the teams were actually allowed to vote on what plays their team would run during a game. They just finished their inaugural season, a short one with just 4 teams and only 6 weeks including regular season and playoffs.)

Boy, the turf and venues they have chosen... Problem with the NAL, not just the fact there's 6 teams on the Atlantic Coast and one team all the way in California, is that the Albany Empire is trying to raise capacity to 25% from the current 10% that's offered to them, otherwise they aren't playing.

I'll be intrigued to see if either of the Arizona teams play with fans. I think they're still one of the hotspots right now.

And to the shock of no one, the IFL announced today that they terminated the league membership of the Louisville Extreme, basically cancelling 11 games for the rest of the season, and having all of us Indoor Football pundits give a resounding, "WE F***ING TOLD YOU SO!!"

Don't ever bring sideshow league members to the big dance. That's the #1 lesson.

3 games into the NAL season YOUR Albany Empire stand atop the standings at 3-0, averaging 69 points a game. Nice.

Don't ever bring sideshow league members to the big dance. That's the #1 lesson. Basically, the first two questions to ask are: 1. Do you have a Letter of Credit and Franchise Fee? 2. Do you have an arena rental agreement for home games? If either one of these is no, DENY THEM.

And the Omaha Beef win their first championship in franchise history tonight, as they defeat the Salina Liberty, 40-39, to win Champions Bowl VI.

Now that's one of the best team names I've ever heard. Established 1999, first played in 2000. Made it to the IPFL Championship in 2001, losing to the Tennessee Thundercats, 38-47. Made it to the CIF Championship in 2017, losing to the Texas Revolution 49-59. Third time was the charm.

YOUR Albany Empire, at 5-1, sit tied atop the NAL Standings with the Columbus Lions. The #1 seed and playoff home field advantage is on the line when the Empire travel to Columbus to play the Lions this Saturday. The winning team will host the #4 seed in the first round, and the losing team will host the Orlando Predators (4-3) who have locked the 3rd seed down. The Jacksonville Sharks, Jersey Flight and Carolina Cobras are all fighting for the 4th and final spot.

So we're down to the last 4 weeks of the IFL regular season, and nobody seems to know how many teams will make the playoffs.
It was stated at the beginning of the year that 8 teams will make the playoffs. But after a couple articles in Arizona and Spokane reported differently, it's rumored that only 6 teams will make the playoffs. And the IFL hasn't really reconfirmed which is correct.
It's one of the many reasons I'm starting to become sick of this circus of a sport.
If they go to 6 teams, Green Bay and Sioux Falls would barely miss the postseason. But if it's still 8 teams, the Iowa Barnstormers would be on the outside looking in.
Tucson and Northern Arizona are pretty much eliminated.

The Albany Empire defeated the Columbus Lions 63-43 this past Saturday in Columbus. Albany (6-1) has clinched the #1 seed in the playoffs and homefield advantage. Columbus (5-2) will host the Orlando Predators (4-3) in a first round game. The Jersey Flight, Carolina Cobras and Jacksonville Sharks all sit at 2-5 in a 3-way tie for yhe #4 seed, which is up for grabs this weekend, the final week of the regular season when the Cobras face the Predators, Flight face the Lions and Sharks face the Empire.

The NAL playoffs are here! With the defending champion Jacksonville Sharks not making the playoffs, a new champion is guaranteed. The #1 seed, and defending and probably final AFL Champion Albany Empire (7-1) host the 3-5 Carolina Cobras, while the Orlando Predators (4-4) visit the Columbus Lions (6-2).

The Albany Empire and Columbus Lions will play for the NAL Championship next Saturday, August 14 in Albany. The Empire defeated the Carolina Cobras 55-41, and the Lions moved by the Orlando Predators 61-43. This will be the third meeting between Albany and Columbus this year, with Albany winning the previous two.
