he wasnt actually molested, that was just the McPoyle's trying to scam money Yeah, he was just going along with it at first only to expose the McPoyle's scam. Oddly enough, while most of the Always Sunny cast can be considered "sad", Charlie is in my eyes the only likable one. Usually his heart is in the right place (even if he does get a bit obsessed) and not many of the bad things that happen are his fault (unless you count sniffing too much glue), whereas the rest of them deserve to have bad things happen to them in some shape or form. while he just has problems due to his inteligence and illiteracy the other are just assholes and cause there own problems

I believe he was, I want to say that his uncle molested him. The one that was in the original McPoyles episode who really creepily told him to show where he was touched on the doll. He's also in the episode where Charlie needs a place to stay and asks his mom to movie into his old room. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but with the uncles references to them wrestling and the Nightman song then musical I always assumed Charlie was molested by that creepy uncle.

That's true, I forgot about his creepy uncle. However, I got the vibe that the uncle wanted to molest him, but not necessarily has gotten to yet, hence the urging of getting him to sleep in the same room with him.

The entire Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Carl as well. Meatwad gets my pitty the most.
I disagree with Michael Bluth. Look, the man could be living in Arizona and happily married to Sally Sitwell by now, he clearly chose this life.
Head Museum Heads on Futurama. Although, the show does get that.
As per the Ventures, I argue that both Brock and Orpheus count as not sad.

Shake gets my pity. He's an ass, but sometimes I think it's just because he doesn't have a brain.

Squidward. He manages to have small successes at times, and he sometimes is a prick that brings things on himself, but a lot of the misfortune in his life is caused by Mr. Krabs using him, or Spongebob's complete disregard for anyone but himself. Not because Spongebob is a jerk(well, usually he isn't) but because he's naive and oblivious about just how much of a pest he is.
Spongebob himself is kind of sad. He desperately wishes to be able to drive, and fails miserably. He wants Squidward to be his friend, and no one loathes him more. He is the subject of mockery and derision on a day-to-day basis, everyone takes advantage of him, and no one respects him. He's so anathema to everyone around him that the whole town has a holiday where they leave for an entire day, just to be away from him.
Plankton... that one is pretty obvious. Outside of his endless quest for the Krabby Patty formula, which he will never obtain, his wife laughs in his face and talks down to him, his restaurant is a failure, and his best friend is the very man he might hate the most, Mr. Krabs.

Yes, THAT Jerry Lewis. The original Nutty Professor. Random Trivia: Jerry Lewis has the only copy locked in a private vault where he vows to keep it from ever being viewed again.

Nobody has mentioned Bill from "King of the Hill" yet? He's the first one I thought of when I read the thread.

Oh man, I remember reading about that. What is hilarious though is any time Harry Shearer is asked about seeing the film.

Ditto on Bill from King of the Hill. He's so pathetic it's sad.

Yeah, Bill Dauterive is pretty much the definition of this. The poor guy is incredibly socially inept, and tons of terrible s*** just seems to pile on top of him. He's just such a gigantic trainwreck of a person. It's f***ing sad.

OBSERVE AND REPORT was advertised as a comedy. I submit that it is, indeed, a horror movie. The lead character played by Seth Rogen is a complete psychopath of a mall security guard whose sole desire in life is to be a cop and carry many, many guns. His existence is a sad, lonely one where he lives with his drunk, incestuous mother and lusts after the makeup department girl. He eventually goes insane, takes on the entire police department in a violent meltdown, and shoots a man dead in cold blood. This is not PAUL BLART; it's closer to f*****g TAXI DRIVER.

Seth Rogen stated this same parallel to Taxi Driver many times during promotional pieces for the movie (I specifically remember it in an episode of "Reel Comedy" on Comedy Central). Also, Bill Dauterive's life is so depressing it is the antithesis of comedy, to me.
