I didn't realize the Fingerpoke and Schiavonne's "butts in the seats" comment were in the same night, let alone a minute apart.

Between the two nWo members I don't see the belt really being devalued as much as some might think but keeping it away from Goldberg who was the babyface hero was what hurt it more to me.

well ya i didn't like that angle cause it didnt give me what i wanted to see. I didnt record and watch that show to see hogan vs nash. I wanted to see goldberg vs nash which was originally advertised. So i got bait and switched and was pretyt pissed. looking back at it I like watching tony schivonies reaction to luger turning on goldberg. He swears on live tv.

But, you forget the whole plan. The plan was for the fingerpoke and then Goldberg to go through the new nWo. Then fight Nash for the number 1 contender and then get to Hogan. The thing that screwed the plan up was Goldberg hurting himself. RD and Alvarez messed up in their book.... The death of WCW came when Goldberg hurt himself ok even if that didn't happen it would have still folded... But not when it did!

The thing for is that a Nash V Hogan match for the belt and the coming to a head of an NWO civil war implosion would have been really interesting in JMO You also had the added value that nether had wrestled each other before so it would have been fresh and original. Instead they gave that slap in the face to fans. Ruined by Hogan, Nash and there huge egos in JMO

Being a Hogan mark I liked it equal to him "saving the day" at Mania 9.
3 or 5 years after the fact, I realized my error of being a mark.
