Not sure if this one qualifies as wrestlecrap, but I think anything that involves Scott Hall from 98 on has the potential. I do not remember all the details. I don't think Hall had been officially "released" by WCW, that would have made too much sense. But he was operating as a free agent, and ECW brought him in on a "pay as you go" type basis. ECW seemed to be on the verge of great things at the time-they were on TNN, they were running PPV's and were doing more merchandising. They were looking for any star power they could get, and Hall was free. He came in only on the condition he would have a program with his real life pal, Justin Credible. It did not last long-he only did one or two shows and that was it. Nothing of too much note. But the fact that ECW would even talk to Hall after all the trouble he was making in WCW at the time certainly seems weird. And in the end I think it just drained out a few more precious dollars at time when ECW's budget was stretching thin already. And lets face it, Hall was a joke at the time and having him around probably did not help ECW's rep outside its fanbase at all. Anyone know any other facts about this I am missing?

If my memory is right, Hall demanded that his appearances in ECW not air on television. Like you mentioned, he was only there for a few shows, so I don't see what ECW got out of it. Plus, he reportedly showed up to the shows...um...let's see..."confronting personal demons".

Hall was already let go by WCW, Hall had his transportation provided, ECW was off TNN at that time.
And, like Sid, he got one of the biggest ovations in the company at the time.

That was a few years prior when Hall was in WCW and wanted to go to the show just to watch it. Shane said something to him to the affect of "You've got some nerve showing up here...if you wanna stay you have to go through me and everyone you screwed over up north"

I almost went to the show you mentioned about. It was in Poughkeepsie, NY in 2000 and I believe he teamed up with Spike Dudley in a tag match.

Even more amazing then, that ECW would consider bringing Hall in considering he almost started a fight with some of their talent. Paul E must have been desperate.

I do respect Scott Hall for insisting that he debut in ECW by jobbing to the lowest-ranked guy on the ECW roster to show his sincerity.
This explains why SAL E. GRAZIANO has a pinfall victory over Scott Hall. He went over in 6:00 with the Banzai Drop.
Hall didn't have to do that, but he insisted to show his willingness to be a team player in ECW.

They hold him and The Kliq responsible for the shitty deal they got back in WWF. Luckily he didn't stay long in ECW, or they would've killed him.

I remember PWI and the related mags putting Scott Hall high up on the ECW top 10 even though he only worked like 2 dark matches. They made a big deal out of it even though nothing really happened. It was really stupid.

Well there were only 2 shows between N2R and Massacre on 34th Street and Hall appeared in both.
This thread will not die!

Those things are based on win-loss records over that month.

Based on 2 matches? 2 matches? Really? Seems like they just overhyped him because he is Scott Hall.

There were only 2 shows that month. Plus it was either 3 or 4 because he pulled double duty on at least one of the shows. So he was either 2-1 or 3-1 which is pretty good.

Hall wrestled in ECW for a brief period. He wrestled three non-televised matches on November 10 & 11, 2000
True there were only 2 house shows but that's all he wrestled for ECW ! According to PWI, he was supposed to be a big deal yet he only wrestled 3 matches! That's like going to a job, working for 3 days, quitting, and getting employee of the month.
Yes, there were 2 shows that month. However, he never came back!!!
