Orson Welles - He did it all from the very start and he did everything magnificently. Actor, director, writer, producer.

Steve Buscemi. He broke in acting in movies, but has directed off and on starting in '96 with Tree's Lounge. None of his directorial movies as overly well known (I've seen his first two and own Tree's Lounge), but he has directed episodes of Homocide:LotS, The Sopranos, Oz and an episode of 30 Rock. He directed a movie with himself and Sienna Miller in it that wasn't too bad. The name escapes me at the moment, though. He played a writer and she was an actress. It was about an interview ... maybe it was called Interview? Anyway, it wasn't a bad little time waster.

Zach Braff should be up there as well. He's directed Garden State and a slew of episodes for Scrubs.

I recall that Joshua Jackson directed a few episodes of Dawson's Creek. I am sure he's probably dabbled in it more than that, but I remember this specifically because it was mentioned on Love Line at some point.
