Why does this show, despite being on average funnier per episode than The Simpsons, never ever get the Emmy love? Not saying that it winning an award would validate anything...but it would be nice for Doc and Jackson to get some credit where it is due. I don't think turner submits venture bros. for the emmys.

Opinions On The First Episode:
In terms of story and furthering the mythology, a truly epic season opener. A little confused over what's going on with 21 and his LARP group, but that's something I think that will be further acknowledged in the course of the season. I was initially weary of seeing Sgt. Hatred in a larger role because pedophilia can only go so far in terms of humor, but I like seeing him as the good guy and as someone who's trying to earn Hank's trust.
As for the second episode (which I just saw): I thought the whole Captain Sunshine bit was spot-on. And I think this whole "Hank being offered replacements of Brock but rejecting them" will be something to further expand on in the season. Really funny ass episode, props to Kevin Conroy for an awesome performance.
Anyways, looking forward to episode three. It's funny how I sort of just found this show over the summer and since then I've been a hooked fan.

So, Dean is named after artist Roger Dean. And, Dr. Venture gets his inspiration from progressive rock.

My favorite line so far
"Just cause he's black, doesn't mean he's got The Shining!"

Yes! Pink Floyd reference! I knew they couldn't bring up progressive rock and not have Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall.

Lesson Learned:
you don't take a man's Jimmy Buffet records without asking.

Jimmy Buffet!? His dad has Pink Floyd, and Hank listens to Jimmy Buffet. At least if Brock had been there, Hank would have been listening to some Led Zeppelin.
