Paul Simon, truly the master at cramming 1000 words into a sentence and still not sounding cluttered.

Kinda thought the post title was a bit obscure, but those that would know would find it, and hear the song immediately in their head.
I've not been disappointed.
"A man walks down the street..."

For a long time after first seeing this video I thought that Chevy actually sung this song. I didn't think the little guy was anyone too significant, just a musician or someone they got to be in the video just because he was so short in contrast to the Chasester. I was somewhat disappointed to discover the truth.

Paul Simon, truly the master at cramming 1000 words into a sentence and still not sounding cluttered. Just checked back in on this thread. You're right, he can cram a lot of non-rhyming words in all at once. Love this video, though the song isn't my favorite. Really, if I was forced to choose, Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard would probably be my favorite. That even still had Mr. Garfunkel playing. Regardless, it's still another great example of non-rhyming lyrics showing off Simon's amazing ability to craft a great tune while spewing out some strange stuff.

Regardless, it's still another great example of non-rhyming lyrics showing off Simon's amazing ability to craft a great tune while spewing out some strange stuff. Paul Simon was great on the old Saturday Night Live show. And he did a bit one time where he was running into random people and he remembered the exact day and time that he ran into them. Eventually they run into Art Garfunkel (I can't remember if it was actually Art Garfunkel or someone playing him), and he got a confused look on his face. He said he didn't remember him and when Garfunkel told him that they had been musical partners for X amount of years, he said something like, "Nah, doesn't ring a bell." On that show (and The Muppet Show), Paul Simon really showed that he had some comedic timing. Anyway, another thing that makes that video great is that Chevy Chase learned the song by listening to it on the way to the studio to film it, so he didn't have a whole lot of time to work on his lip synching. But I think he did a great job of it.

Kevin Costner has nothing on Paul Simon, except for Dances With Wolves. Otherwise, he and Nic Cage could go bowling and be known as the most boring actors ever.

I received a free song by Paul Simon on my Sansung Mobile Phone. And No, it wasn't this song, it was "The Russian Futurists"

He did Diamonds on the soles of her Shoes and Homeless with Lady Smith Black Mabozo (sic)

Both good bits I might add. I just might have to go listen to his Essential double cd now.
