Vista has never really given me any problems, so I don't feel the urgency to upgrade.

Bout a new laptop last year with Vista and have had no issues with it so I'll hold out for the next upgrade if my laptop's outdated by then.

Vista's preloaded on my computer, and from what I've read, right now W7 isn't a quantum leap forward, so no reason too. One thing that has annoyed me is that there is a program that I use when capturing, and since they upgraded their program to be Windows 7 compliant, it's had a tougher time running on my computer and working, where before, it worked fine almost every time. That really annoys me when you do something like that, and it completely wrecks the system.

I might switch to 7 down the line when XP is no longer updated, but I am also considering the switch to some sort of Linux OS like Ubantu.

I'm running Vista with the option of a free upgrade to 7. I'd do it, but I have no idea as to how to go about getting the upgrade.

I'm still using Vista, as I only upgraded last year. Besides, it usually takes a bit after the release of a windows platform before all the bugs are worked out of it.

I got Vista pre-installed on the Wal-Mart Dell I bought two years ago. I had one problem with it and I fixed it in under fifteen minutes (most of that time was used finding the disc)
I'll likely upgrade to 7 eventually, but I'm in no hurry. Maybe when/if it becomes available on club.bing. A year or so before 7 was even released they were offering various Windows Vista versions.
My dad was looking at the bundle pack upgrades at Staples, so that's likely the quickest way I'd upgrade. We got five comps here right now, but one definitely isn't worth trying to upgrade and I doubt my mom's laptop is worth bothering either.

I will eventually - "The Ultimate Steal" price is awesome, but I'm not really in a hurry to upgrade. Plus Vista has yet to give me a major headache.

While I would like to upgrade to Windows 7, I don't really feel any kind of urgency to move up from XP right now, and as long as XP is still functional (and the price for Windows 7 is higher) I have no need/want for it. On top of those two things, my laptop is 3 years old and doesn't have tons of RAM to begin with, so I'll be upgrading withon the next couple years anyway.
For the person who asked about the free upgrade to Windows 7, I believe you can download it from the Microsoft software site, or something to that effect. Call and ask the place where you purchased it from and ask them just to be sure.

I loves me some XP, but I like Windows 7. Word of caution though; if you are gonna upgrade to 7, if possible, spend the extra money for Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate so you can have XP mode for all those programs that aren't compatible with 7. I'm running Vista with the option of a free upgrade to 7. I'd do it, but I have no idea as to how to go about getting the upgrade. You have to contact your pc's manufacturer, and most will direct you to their website. Easiest way is to Google "(manufacturer) Windows 7 upgrade" and usually the first result will be their Window 7 upgrade page. You'll have to put in some info, and they'll send you a nice, shiny Windows 7: Starter upgrade disc.

That is so mindblowingly simple, yet I doubt I'd have thought of it if I did nothing else for a week. I'll do that. It'll be nice to have the disc, at the very least ;D thanks! EDIT: I did, in fact, just do this, and it seems straightforward, but it'll probably have to wait til after Christmas. They want to charge me £12.78 for them to post it to me! Where're they posting it from? The moon?

I have 7 and let me tell you all that this thing is like the second coming of windows 98
But to be serious for a moment, if you're upgrading your computer from xp to 7 you probably don't need to rush out to buy it since 7 is meant more for 64 bit processors than 32 bit processors.

I bought a laptop last year with Vista, and I love it. I have no reason at all to upgrade.

I have XP on a six or seven year old desktop, and that isn't changing. This laptop has Vista, and I have no problems with it at all.

I've had a few problems with Vista lately but overall I wouldn't change. At least not for a while.

I was a big XP FOREVER guy... Now my next GIS Design software upgrade is only going to run on 64 bit... so I decided what the hell and upgraded to 7 from XP (along with my PC). I'm finding myself wondering why I was thinking that XP was the End All Be All. 7 is amazing and very stable. I think I was more afraid of change than I was afraid of something actual OS related. I actually get less crashing running things in Windows XP mode in 7, than I did running Windows Xp! My only problem now is trying to play old 95era games on a Widescreen ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) (At least Dosbox handles my DOS games perfectly)

No reason not to leave XP. All my games work with it, all my programs do too.
