I don't think I'll ever understand the "it's so bad, it's good" thing. If something is bad, I typically don't enjoy it; and if something is really, really bad, then I typically really, really don't enjoy it. It's simple. When something is bad enough to veer into unintentional comedy, it's so bad that it's good.

I do not have the DVD.
But I heard on the Director's commentary it's just Joel Schumaker apologising for two hours.
Is this true?

He goes through the thought processes he had and the people in charge of Warner Bros. had, but its pretty much a humbled man asking for forgiveness for making the movie that pretty much ruined his career.

Some people need to chill about this movie. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) If you think about it as a comedy it really isn't that bad. I myself get very nostalgic over this movie for some strange reason and yes I do know this movie is putrid from a cinema state of mind. For those of us who were 15-25 years old when it came out I can understand why they would be uberly pissed when they finally saw the movie, but I was a 10 year old, the kind of audience they were aiming for.

That's inhumanly sad! Joel was behind the movie adaptation of the musical version of Phantom of the Opera...which I thought was awesome beyond belief! Besides that, while it's easy to blame directors/actors/writers/ect on why a movie is bad...in the case of some Warner Brothers movies...I think a ton of blame can be placed at the feet of the studio itself. If Joel had to deal with the same crappy Warner Brothers committee as Kevin Smith had to (when he was working on Superman Returns) then I wonder if Joel is not as guilty as everyone makes him out to be.

Yeah, part of what Joel talks about on the commentary was how Warner Bros. basically wanted a 2 hour long toy commercial. But he also states that, as director on the project, he was fully aware of what was happening at all times, and he takes responsibility for it. And I didn't mean to sound nearly as depressing as I may have with my initial description. Schumacher may come off apologetic, but its not like he's crying or anything. He seemed rather jovial about the whole situation. And he's obviously still directing films, so it didn't fully RUIN his career. His reputation took a dive for a while, that's all.

I enjoy it more than Dark Knight to be completely honest.

I saw it at the cinemas when I was a kid.
I hated it even back then.

It's a fun movie that makes me smile whenever I watch it. I watched Dark Knight for a second time and I was bored out of my skull. Then again, I'm not really a stickler for the Batman must be dark and serious thing.

I enjoyed in the same way as I enjoyed the 66 movie.
Honestly, if you can't laugh at the "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb" scene then you have no soul. Similarly if you don't manage a chuckle at Arnie's over the top performance and bad jokes then I don't wish to know you.

It's corny beyond belief, hasn't got a good storyline or good performances but it is enjoyable. It's like a cartoon with real people.
I saw this video a few months back and thought Ivy looked like a pretty darn cool villain (forgetting that she wasn't) and sought out the film to watch. A fun waste of time.
