Oh, L4D posted this blog (got it from facebook) We have upgraded our network infrastructure to better accommodate the huge response to L4D2. 360 players will now have lag-free servers. We've also added more dedicated servers.
We will continue to monitor the situation and add resources as needed.
Thank you for your patience. Now quit reading this, get out there and kill some zombies!

Half those games were dedicated the other half were local servers. I'm also closing in on the rest of the scavenge chivos. Six more gas cans and eight more drops.

Anyone around here know how to configure everything correctly so you can use a laptop/pc to connect your 360 to the net? Because 50 foot Ethernet cords and 70 buck wireless routers are NOT cool with me. So, um... anyone? I have the local network enabled. the 360 can connect to the laptop (although Windows Media won''t connect, and when I go there it won't connect properly) but I can't get my connection to connect to the Internet. And it's not my Internet connection itself, otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this. If it helps, I'm running XP Home Edition on the laptop. Sounds like your box being plugged into your laptop is blocking your laptops net connection for some reason. Hmm, interesting. The funny thing is, the 360 reads the local network that I enabled and attempts to go online, but can't establish a network connection when I run that test. When I run the Windows Media test, it doesn't read the laptop as being connected via the Ethernet cord. I had a cord running up to my room and just used a splitter to run that cord to the PC and computer. But as for the Windows Media... did you go through the setup stuff on the 360 for it? There's a code you have to get and give to your computer. I went through the setup for it, and went to the website devoted to it. The Windows XP section is a dead end, there's nothing to download or really even read. Meh... I might just end up buying a cheap Ethernet cord in 2 weeks, drop it through my vent into my basement, and go from there. Pretty sure I can find a cheap 30 footer...

Yeah, I know some are pretty adamant about not doing cords, but apparently it's the easiest and cheapest way to do it. I heard about simply running a cord out of my comp to the 360, but I got a really good deal on the splitter off amazon on the recommendation of my friend to do it that way. Plus, he said the wireless add on for the 360 can be a bit iffy, he had one and sold it. With three laptops being in use in my house on wireless g, I figured that might be a problem. Ethernet cords are relatively cheap. I'd call up your local "mom & pop" computer store and let them know how long you need and ask for a price. I think my dad just bought something outrageous like 100 feet to go to my room and it was under $50. (He wanted something long enough to reach basically anywhere, just in case he fixed up the attic or we moved or something.)

Hopefully going to get Lego Rock Band tomorrow...well 45 more songs for Rock Band 2 really. Nice to see Harmonix shafted the UK again with a four week delayed release. I don't know what their problem is but they can't seem to get it right when dealing with their other markets rather than American.

Afro Samurai isn't worth the disc it's lasered on. It had the potential to be a get game, but NOOOOO.

I'd like to make a random, out-of-absolutely-nowhere observation: The Guild IS FREAKING AWESOME.
This has been a random, out-of-absolutely-nowhere observation.

L4D2 and ODST are down to $39.99 today. From my friend list, I've seen few people on ODST. The campaign was fun, standard length with arguably the best story (I haven't played the first in a while, but it's way better than two or three.) And Firefight is a really, really fun game.
Also, I had arguably my crowning achievement in gaming in a Versus Round on Parish. My team took the lead leading into the first round, because I kept going after the same guy for incap bonuses. The lead traded back and forth and we went as infected first in the final round (by that point, I was the only guy left on my team that started). We were trailing by like 300 points) as two ran past the tank but luckily got stopped. Final round, we're taking forever as people are stopping at the stupidest places. I played patient and watched backs while they hardly did the same. I was at 7 health after helping a dude and healed, getting hit down to 1 by zombies. The tank music plays and I look around as my team's scattered around, so I punch adrenaline and gun down past the thing. I catch the off ramp, shooting hordes off of me and yell out that I'm at the plane, but I'll probably die. I then see everyone on my team is dead. So I take off, decisively pulling off the victory.

I'd really like not to do a cord myself, but then again I was the person who insisted on having the router placed next to the ancient comp upstairs, so this is my own fault. Also, somebody loan me a ten spot: www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Network-Internet-Routers-Gaming/dp/B0010DLZ82

Damn...it's 1 VS. 1.
EDIT: A two-question standoff later and The One wins.

Okay kids, this is gonna differentiate from the norm, but here it goes...
... I finally bought one.
I got an Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Bundle from Newegg, and its currently on its way to the house. I paid 299 (no tax or shipping, a huge rarity in New York), and with the 50 dollar gift card from Newegg, I'm gonna be getting a network adapter.
The games I plan on starting out with: Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2, Forza Motorsport 3, and Grand Theft Auto IV.
I can't wait to play it, I spent smartly on it and with my 37" Vizio and 1080p TV, I'm ready to rock!
Now back to your scheduled postings...

So, I haven't been on my 360 in a while, mostly because I'm trying to fix my lag issue with my Live. I always had issue before, but it usually works. Recently, it's been real bad, and I don't know how to fix it. I'm trying to find out the best way to improve the speed, yet I don't know where to ask. I guess I should call 1800-4MyXBOX or something, but I wanted to ask stores like Best Buy and Gamestop. I have my system connected to a splitter, and that's attached to my modem. I don't know if I should connect it right to my modem, cause it might not work at all. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

*Does Batista entrance complete with shooting imaginary guns*
F**** YEAH!!!!!!!
Figured out what I was doing wrong. I never bridged my connections. So, I highlighted every connection in Network Connections and let Windows do its work.
Now I just have to see if the XBL Gold Membership my friend had has lasped or not...

If you need a 12-month card, and plan on picking up MW2, I'd recommend taking part in this deal if you don't mind going amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00269QLI8/ref=atv_pp2/184-6500855-2880759?pf_rd_p=501562991&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=468642&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1RYF4VCN0EES2W0J3F2ZYou get the 12 month card for $29.99 so you save like $10. Then you get a $10 code from amazon for a future game purchase which would drop GTA IV to $16.99. They also have Forza 3 right now $39.99, as does K-Mart as well (K-Marts ends today... not sure how long Forza 3 will be at that price.)
