Boba Fett can take on the entire Star Fleet... Fleet... with his bare hands and win! He'd beat the hell out of those ships! Hell yeah! Fett's the man! Yeah he's so awesome, he jobbed out like a disposable henchman and got eaten by some random sandworm and... So overrated.

Star Wars. I've loved it ever since I was a little kid. I'd like to try to get into Star Trek one day, but I haven't been able to get hooked on it.

Here's how much of a procrastinator I am: one day, I promised myself I would watch an episode of Star Trek to see what it was like. That was back in grammar school.
I'm a grown man now.
Sad, but true.

And his father was decapitated from behind by Shaft. Truly a lineage of badassery there. (Actually, I never understood George Lucas' insistence on making the Fett's look so stupid in the end, considering how popular they were.)

Then again Roddenberry was no great writer either, so they have that in common I guess.

Not 100% on this, but didn't Fett appear in a book set after Jedi, with the explanation that he had to lose the Mandalorian armor to get out of the Sarlaac? And didn't that book get named canon by Lucas?

^You are correct but extended universe doesn't count, it has to happen in the movies.

Actually, if Lucas says it's canon, it's just as good as the movies. And I thought I heard that he canonized all the extended universe.

Borg vs. Empire? Borg would assimilate the empire in a week.

The techology debate between the franchises is interesting. People say Star Trek has the advantage in weapon power and shields, but Star Wars has an advantage by using fighters, and being able to get from one side of the galaxy to the other ALOT faster. Voyager is a good example of that.
I like both really, allthough I HATE the original series. I'm a TNG/DS9 guy by far.

And didn't that book get named canon by Lucas? He's appeared in a lot of post Jedi books. I've only ever read The Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy, though, and he was certainly a cool character in that. And personally, I don't give two craps about the whole "canon/non-canon" thing; that entire tripe just seems silly to me.

I grew up both franchises and I love both of them. Star Trek for me wins out for me though.

Voyager is a good example of that. I like both really, allthough I HATE the original series. I'm a TNG/DS9 guy by far. Two things on fighters: 1. Star Trek uses them too, you just almost never see them. There is a Peregrine Class of ship that's a fighter that was used in DS9 for retaking the station from the Kardashians. (purposeful name change to draw attention away from how big a geek I am for not only knowing that ST uses fighters, but knowing the class name of the ship) 2. Targeting computers and weapons systems on Starfleet vessels can track and fire upon multiple targets at the same time. On the getting across the galaxy idea, how big was the galaxy in Star Wars? You could assume that it was similar size, but with no basis of comparison, you never know.

Classic Star Wars wins out for me. Don't care for the prequels though.

I prefer Trek by a mile. However I know Wars wins this debate because damn near every Trek fan loves Star Wars, but not even close to all Wars fans love Star Trek. Oh and Garick>Fett.
