My nephew is staying here for a few weeks and I was looking through the VHS tapes I had, I forgot I had this movie. I haven't watched it since I was a kid, hope it still holds up.

I've never seen it, but from what I've seen, like Labyrinth, it's a gorgeous movie art wise. I wish the Henson studio had done more like it.
Unfortunately, from what I hear, it's kind of boring. That's the reputation it seems to have in my social circle, at least.

I remember really liking it as a kid. I forget pretty much all of it, so I may also track it down and watch it. I don't remember it being boring.

On the other hand, I'd probably like it, since I'm a muppet mark(how they work, not just the official Muppets) and I love fantasy fare.

I remember liking this, too, but I haven't seen it in a long time and don't remember a whole lot about it.
Aren't they making a sequel to this sometime soon?

It's one of those flicks that for me had great, interesting visuals but kinda a blah story.

It has incredible visuals and interesting world building, but it's short, only about an hour and a half.

The Dark Crystal is my favourite movie. I got it on Blu Ray and finally got around to watching it last week, and it was like seeing it for the first time again. If you're a fan of it, or even if you've never seen it before, I can't recommend the Blu Ray highly enough. It looks like it was made today, it's fantastic. I could gush for pages on how amazing it is.
I'm planning on getting some pieces from it tattooed in the future. The Crystal Castle, an opposing Mystic and Skeksi, the Crystal itself, maybe more.

It was a great movie, but it was not without some flaws. The Garthym and the Chamberlain were awesome, however.

I got my best friend's girlfriend this and Labyrinth (and *cough*RoadHouse2*cough*) for Christmas this year in the Secret Santa drawing. Wal-Mart had them in with their little Harry Potter DVD section, which had replaced their Twilight section, and got them seeing as she probably has all the Harry Potter movies anyway. Oddly enough, I haven't even seen The Dark Crystal at all and probably haven't seen Labyrinth since I was 5 or something, though buying the DVDs made me wanna watch them.
