Hoping to finally make a start on Dexter By Design tonight. I've been putting it off way too long now.

Okay, now that I've finally seen the last 3 weeks of Dexter (sweet Jesus I've gotten behind on my favorite series)
...
...
OH MY F***ING GOD!!! That's really all I can say about this season. Sweet mother of Jesus.
I was thinking it was Anton who shot them. At first I thought, when Lundy put his hand up to Deb's face, when they separated he'd be in the background. Then they get shot. So Anton is a suspect in my head. Then again, I thought Anton was the skinner, but we see how that turned out.
Trinity being just like Dexter really surprised me. I can't WAIT for The Hunt now. This is going to be epic.
Oh, and on the subject of "Dexter By Design". IMO, it's better than the last one, which went way too into the whole "hey look, the Dark Passenger is this mythical beast that responds to drums" or some bullshit. It's quite an interesting turn.
Personally I'm hoping they adapt the angle from the second book into the series. It's just too bad they already killed off Doakes.

This season is great. Easily the second best season so far. Honestly, it's even tied with the first.

At the very least it's right up there with the first season. John Lithgow has been the best guest star this show has seen. The first half of the season we get to see him as this deranged serial killer. Now we get to see him as a husband, father, teacher, and deacon. I'm very much looking forward to watching Dexter try to learn from Trinity, and find out how he's able to be so damn successful.
BTW, Debra's acting towards the end of the last episode, crying in the parking lot with Dexter, was some of her best work on the show to date IMO.

That's my second idea, is that Trinity is using this as a throw-off from his pattern. The Dexter/Zoe stuff was claaaaaaaaaassic. I died out laughing when Dexter said "What is with you and rape, no one's getting raped here!". The delivery was perfect. It reminded my of the Ledger Joker...both the most unhinged and poignant Dexter we've seen thus far!

Memo to people working behind Dexter
As much as I like John Lithgow and I do, Cliffhanger & 3rd Rock esp, I would be very much indebted to you if you would stop giving us rear end shots, thank you
Kinda a slow ep this week I though but I get why plus it had some moments
That look Dexter gave the camera at the end was just awesome I though

I love how it's working out right now, Deb is getting less screen time which is better for everybody
Also liking Dexter learning from Trinity

This season is too friggin' good. Each week leaves me wanting the next episode more and more.
I'm still thinking Anton was the shooter. Maybe it's one of those things that seem so obvious that it won't be him or even Trinity at the end?

Just watched last night's episode.
A coffin. He made a freaking coffin. For who?
Also, Dex killing an innocent man? Perhaps he's becoming TOO like Trinity.

I think the coffin is for Dexter
He's not the most subtle guy around and Trinity has been killing for decades without being caught so he ain't stupid.......I could be wrong but I think he knows summit is up for Dexter
Also, I dunno why Dexter is too cut up (Pardon the pun) since (A) He has killed an innocent before and (B) The guy he did kill was an all round douche with at least rape on his list.......Worthy of Dexter killing him? Bit sketchy but not like he was an angel

Bit sketchy but not like he was an angel Well the only other innocent person he has killed was Oscar Prado, but that was in self defense. In this specific case, he did all the necessary detective work and was certain that he was killing someone who deserved it. When it comes to his ritualistic murders, I think this is the only one where he knows he got it wrong.

Oh yeah, completely forgot about that. I guess you could make the case that he was an obvious threat to not only his children, but children everywhere. But this guy from last night hadn't committed any crimes at all. I think this is the first time where Dexter's instincts were incorrect.

I think this is the first time where Dexter's instincts were incorrect. They said the photographer guy had defo raped a lassie though he just got away with it using the Chewbacca defense (Citation needed) so you could argue that he was a danger to women However I agree with you in saying this is likely the 1st time Dexters instincts were incorrect. Dexter prob wouldn't have killed him for the rape alone (I still say he was a douche though lol) Constantly keeps you interested though, awesome show

So yeah, I suppose he's not exactly a loss to society. BTW, I can't help but feel like Quinn is going to end up the same way Doakes did. Granted, Doakes wasn't killed by Dexter, but they're both getting too close and trying to look into Dexter's life. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dexter feels like Quinn is getting too close and does whatever he needs to do to keep his secret safe.

Yeah I thought that too when he started following Dexter around
However I think they are pretty good at giving us curveballs so I'm hoping this won't just be a re-tread of the Doakes storyline.................as awesome as it was

So my new idea on who killed Lundy and wounded Deb (and it's really the only person left to consider, IMO): {Spoiler}Christine, the reporter. She's short, roughly Masuka's height, and she has a lot to gain from this case herself. She goes out with Quinn because she knows he's close to Deb. She kills Lundy, but intentionally leaves Deb alive so she can use her relationship with Quinn to get an exclusive interview. All of which will have a profound impact on her own career.

I'm legitimately shocked after the end of that episode. The only thing I could say for about 30 seconds afterward was "Wow" over and over again.

Time and time again, this show proves why its the best show on television. If only the award committees would recognize this as well. Mad Men has nothing on Dexter.

...OH MY GOD!!!
Three episodes left. Now it's time for things to get turned up to 11...then cranked the f*** up past that.
I had a feeling Christine shot Deb...but being Trinity's daughter?!
