While brief, Homer's devotion to that sandwich may be the greatest moment ever.

Not sure if they count as a subplot, but if you put all the McBain segments from season 2-4 together you get what would amount as a subplot.

The episode where the kids get snowed in at school, the subplot involving Homer and Flanders trying to reach them was good stuff. "What happened to your plow from your plowing business?" "What the hell are you talking about?" "You know, Mr Plow. You're wearing the jacket right now!" "I think I know my own life, Ned...Mr Plow, that's my name. That name again is Mr Plow" ITS ON RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Me and my brother were discussing the other day how the subplot where Homer gets a vocabulary builder tape beats the main plot of Milhouse getting a girlfriend...tenfold! I agree. "Oooh, a sextet of ale!"

Two words: "Pinchy" and "Mojo" /thread Pray for Mojo. Homer: Marge, can I get a duck? Marge: You already have a monkey! Homer: Can he get a duck? One of my favorite lines ever there. But I also have to give my vote to the sugar one. And this thread is making me wish they played more old simpsons episodes again!

You know the little plot lines that have little to no connection to the main plot line in a episode. Mine must be 'Homer and the Sugar' from the episode 'Lisa's Rival'. Hell Homer coming into possession of big pile of sugar was way more entertaining then Lisa feeling threatened by smarter student in her class. "Bad bees, bad! *gets stung* Ow, they're defending themselves somehow!"Personally, my favorite one has to involve the Mr. Sparkle box from "In Marge We Trust". Homer's whimpering as he sees the box is priceless.

While brief, Homer's devotion to that sandwich may be the greatest moment ever. This. I also enjoy later in the episode with Troy McClure's "Erotic Adventures of Hercules." Random Woman: Hercules, the cyclops tore my dress off. Hercules: HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Homer with the sugar is fantastic, for his rant, the English chap, and the bee keepers.
"You see, bees make noise, no noise means no bees."

You lure our bees to your sugar pile and then sell them back to us at an inflated pirce." "Bees are on the what now?" "Simpson, you diabolical..."

Homer with the sugar is fantastic, for his rant, the English chap, and the bee keepers. "You see, bees make noise, no noise means no bees." I think it was more of a parody of the 1960's Batman where between bouts of oddness, Adam West showcased some high degree of insight, but, yeah, I enjoyed it, although I would point out Homer's little rant as to why he would never relinquish the suger ( "...I want to experience the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the bluenoses with my cocky stride and musky odors - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about 'What's to be done with this Homer Simpson'?") No offense, but that subplot sucked as bad as the rest of the episode "Kill Gil, Volumes 1 and 2" as I felt it was completely forced and uninspired. That's the only suggestion that I don't like so far.
