So I know this is my second comics related post in as many months, but you guys were so helpful last time, I couldn't resist getting more knowledge. What are some good comics with focus away from the "big guys". I'm looking for hidden gems, whether it be a whole series or just an arc. Probably going to check out Frank Miller's Daredevil run, but what else is good?

Exiles was good before Claremont turned it into the Psylocke and Sage show

Does Nightwing count as secondary? His stuff is usually quality, especially when he filled in as Batman after the Knightfall series.

My favorite book in recent memory was JMS's miniseries "The Twelve," which unfortunately never was completed before he jumped ship over to DC.
My current favorite is a miniseries Avatar is putting out called "Absolution" by Christos Gage.

Powerpack, the 1980s run.
All Star Squadron, until about issue 55, where it was clearly dead in the water and switched to ancient reprints and origin stories.
The original run of Thunderbolts surprised me with it's quality - biggest accolade I can give? It's the only Marvel monthly I've collected since the 80s.

Exiles was good before Claremont turned it into the Psylocke and Sage show I'm having trouble coming up with a more eloquent way to say "This. This. MOTHERF***ERS, THIS!!!!!", so I think I'm just gonna silently agree.

Gotta agree on Guardians of the Galaxy. Fantastic book utilizing so many characters that were (and sometimes still are) considered throwaways. Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Jack Flag...amazing book.

All so very awesome covers. And I can't belive I'm going to say this but......the current run of Ms. Marvel has amazed me with how good it's been and the art currently is superb.

It's the only Marvel monthly I've collected since the 80s. and yet for some reason they never released it in trade, asidee from the first couple issues. on that note, Thunderbolts has been awesome from the minute they brought it back. doesn't matter whether it's Nicieza's fun villain-turned-heroes book, Ellis' dark and twisted boxed crooks or Diggle/Parker's black ops/wetworks team, it's always a quality read. except for Christos Gage's totally phoned in Secret Invasion stuff that didn't even bother to buil up to Osborne taking over (at least, if it did, it was somehow even less convincing than what Bendis wrote)

Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Jack Flag...amazing book. as mentioned before I loved Ellis' run on Thunderbolts and he really made nobody superheroes like Jack Flag look f***ing badass. whenn I found out that Abnett/Lanning saved him from being a cripple and added him to GotG I marked like a five year old.

Ms. Marvel is one of those titles I really want to like because I love the character, but I just can't get into it. it just feels like Brian Reed hasn't done anything to say "this comic is special and you should check it out for X,Y and Z reasons".
