Like changing from Extremis to a more movie inspired version of Iron Man? Getting rid of Extremeis and trying to s*** PepperxTony is f***ing retarded and the only bad things of the current Iron Man run. What's Extremeis?

basically a techno-virus thing tony stark infected himself with to defeat a bad guy. it allows him instant contact with the suit, and allows him to carry parts of the suit inside his own body.
pretty mush a story designed to make iron man more an actual "super" hero than just a normal guy in armor. it lent to some cool animations and power macguffins. i don't think it should've been undone. like they're taking away everything that made iron man the central figure of the mu for the last few years. sure he deserved comeuppance for the civil war and the invasion, but he could've had that without losing extremis.

I'm glad it's being undone, I never liked the idea. To me part of what made Stark cool was he was just a guy with a technological suit. Granted a supergenius millionaire, but still, no 'powers' to speak of, but something that was (theoretically anyway) actually achievable.

Hell, the only real powers he got were a small healing factor and wi-fi.

because god forbid these characters should ever grow and change *facepalm* Like changing from Extremis to a more movie inspired version of Iron Man? Or Spider-Man's reboot, which I hate, is actually a chance got him and gives him a chance to grow in different ways then he had been while married? And The New Avengers stuff has been going on since 2004, so a change even to the familiar is a change and growth because of how scenarios have developed over the last half of this decade. From the list he gave I don't really see how he's anti-growth or change, as much as it is his growth and change differs from your vision of what it should be. I'm not sure why that earns a facepalm. because Spider-man growing up and becoming successful as a science teacher who was happily married apparently makeds him look "old" so they rebooted him back to square one 1960's spidey. i fail to see how that qualifies as "growth". and Tony becoming more integrated with his armor was a logical step, esp. given the very real transhumanist movement. don't get me wrong, movie Tony was great, but making him more like his movie version, a character whose still in his early years seems like a massive regression to me.

Incredible Hercules is well... incredible. it's up to 4 trades now, the fifth one is coming out shortly. and of course since it's good it's getting cancelled after the next story arc. because people would rather buy s*** like New Avengers or Matt Fraction's terrible x-men comic out of loyalty than try something new. It's not being canceled. oh good. I heard a few places it was getting cancelled.

Wait what? yes apparently Iron Man has no problem banging his very recently dead best friend's wife. Pepper being married to Happy Hogan never gets mentioned. not unusual for Matt Fraction, sometimes I wonder if he's ever read a comic book at all when I read his crap. writing Bullseye as some kind of snarky funny guy didn't help.

Happy's and Pepper's marriage was mentioned as recently as the latest issue of Invincible (and has been before that), and I've seen Bullseye crack wise in multiple stories. And add me to the list of people who thought Extremis was a stupid idea. Tony shouldn't have any powers beyond his suit.

It fit very well especially seeing how more and more examples of Transhumanism are popping up IRL and in comics and was the next logical step for the Iron Man armor and character.

It didn't fit the character at all. Stark is a smart guy who builds stuff, not somebody who can contro, machines by thinking about it or have his armor grow out of his skin. It makes as much sense as giving Batman superpowers.

God forbid I have my own opinion and like the traditional versions of the characters. After the hundreds of thousands of dollars I've sunk into the comic book industry, I have the right to any f***ing opinion I want. a bit hostile aren't we? me personally I'd rather have the characters develop. developing doesn't mean getting rid of the core concept of the character. Iron Man, Thor and Cap are still basically the same guys, but it's silly to believe they should exist in some kind of vacuum where everything is perfect and nothing ever changes. how the hell are you supposed to tell a story if everything stays the same? Sounds like the DC Universe, Pre Identity Crisis, which is why I was always more of a Marvel guy until the past 4-5 years.

You really didn't pay attention to Extremeis did you? Extremeis never grew out of his skin, it would just fly to him. And while he had complete control with Stark Tech using Extremeis everything else he couldn't or only could though it was a struggle to do so. And Stark had been doing stuff long before then. Iron Man has pretty much all ways been a character who has the most cutting edge technology and Extremeis was that next step that still fit the character of Iron Man. Honestly Batman and Iron Man really aren't comparable in this. Bats is all about being a human at the peak of being human in the intellectual and physical.

I seem to recall an issue of Mighty Avengers where the stuff grew out of his skin, but I could be mistaken. Maybe it just bonded with it. Either way, the suit was part of him. His body was definitely taken over by the Ultron virus in that story though because of Extremis because he was some type of pseudo machine. And being able to control machinery without him using type of instrumentation himself is dumb. And there are more than enough similarities between Batman and Iron Man to make the comparison really. Extremis was a bad idea and the sooner Fraction gets rid of it the better.

I want to make a couple of points:
1. First, One More Day is not a forbidden topic. It's just not something I am personally going to discuss because, yes, I did shoot my mouth off once about it and it came back to haunt me rather quickly.
2. The Joe Q thing - again, discussing him isn't forbidden here. However, given that, again yes, he is my boss, and I run this website, I'm not going to allow excessive bashing of him. If you don't like something he wrote or a decision he made and you can make an educated, well-thought out argument about it, feel free. But just doing s*** like "Joe Q sucks" or "I hope he gets fired" or any of that crap isn't going to cut it. Constructive criticism is key.
Regarding the Steve Rogers situation that started this thread, there was a shipping delay that caused the confusion.

Then explain to me why it was a bad idea. I'm curious, because for the most part everyone I know loved Extremeis and was pissed it got taken away. And once again, other than the suit Tony could not control much.
